I am are Salomon's fan I have more products of Salomon. The shoes are comfortable and have the correct size. But....
I bought this pair of shoes on September 16 and used for hiking up Mount Robson. On September 22-25, I was exposed to rain and snow. On a rainy day, my feet are wet on a snowy day at -6 temperatures, I wore 2 pairs of merino wool socks and add Gaiters cover. My feet were cold, and on 27-29 September I went to Mount Assiniboine, temperatures from -6 to -15. I wore 2 pairs of merino wool socks and add Gaiters cover but my feet were always cold. On September 30, I hiking to the Lake Agnes Trail, at Lake Louise. The trail is wet and snowy. I slipped almost all the way and fall 3 times. On 1-3 October, I visited the Banff national park. Sometimes wading to the river about 1.5 to 2 inches high. I found that water seeped into the seam of the shoe and the edge of the sole.
I think this shoe is only suitable for walking in the city. Not suitable for outdoor activities

I was looking for a winter hiking boot and have had a number of pairs of Salomon shoes so decided to try these. Fit is great - narrow enough in the heel but roomy in the toe box. Traction is good. Out of the box they felt a bit stiff but after a few hours that went away. Very happy with purchase.

I needed a pair of boots for light snow/slush that I could wear in light snow but are better suited for urban environments. I wouldn't use these deep snow but for shoveling and walking the dog in the winter they are just what I needed.
The only con would be that the laces could be a couple inches longer but that's not a deal-breaker.

Bought as a beefed up option to my regular quest 4d gtx's, I felt they'd be a little lacking for NY winters. The quest winters did not disappoint!

I work at a ski resort in Colorado and am outside on a daily basis in the harshest of alpine conditions. Unlike the other reviews, I've had 0 negative issues with these boots. The traction is great in an icy parking lot; the Gortex waterproofing has never failed me; and with a regular pair of Nike dri fit socks, my feet have never been cold, even in temps below zero and being out in the snow for several hours. I'm currently wearing these as we speak, for the second ski season in them. They're still like new even after 126 days in them last season. Will undoubtedly continue to buy these as my winter boot of choice for work

Out of the box I went for a winter mountain hike and have since worn twice snowshoeing, on multiple hikes and around town over the last month. The verdict, an excellent shoe / boot! Very comfortable, warm, offers good grip and seems to be very durable. The lace locker system is excellent as it allows for you to have the upper and lower portion of the boot at different lace tensions which is nice when you want more ankle freedom. Salomon generally seems to fit long, narrow feet like mine very well. This boot is slightly wider than most Salomon boots but still fits me great, especially since you can tighten the boot so much with the lace locker. Regarding other reviews, I've never had the laces come loose and stood in an open stream on my last hike and had no water penetration. A solid 5 stars.

The side of the foot was tightly supported. I liked it. Excited to wear them in the snow!

I have worn these daily for the last month, they are light weight, warm and water proof, a really nice compromise to a heavy winter boot with very little sacrifice. The sole is a little squeaky on smooth floors when they are new, but that has stopped. If you want something along the lines of a hiking boot, but warmer and tall enough to trudge through some snow, they are a nice option. They also have enough foot support to be warn all day without it being noticed.

I work in a ski area and when I'm not in ski boots, I'm in these boots in all temperatures and weather. The Quest has been as advertised. The tread is grippy and the insulation works well. I reccommend them highly.

I wore these on several hikes in single digit weather in snow and my feet never got cold. Very lightweight and form fitting with great traction. Highly recommend!

I love these boots. Im not a fan of thick heavy socks so these boots help eliminate the need during day to day use. They are waterproof and comfortable. Sizing is accurate. I wear a US 9 and ordered the same with great fit and room for thick socks if needed.

I got these shoes a month ago. I have used them in sub zero temperatures with snow on the ground. The shoes are very warm. They also have a good traction even in icy conditions. They are also totally water proof. As to the comfort, I have not had any problems with my feet. The only, but a small complaint, is that the shoes are quite difficult to put on due to the relatively small opening. Everything else is very top notch. Be sure to take a measure of your feet length before ordering. My size 43 3/4 is more than one size bigger than my usual shoe.

I bought this boot last month for walking my dog on snow and ice covered trails and paths here in Colorado. It has excellent traction and the insulation keeps my feet warm on the trails and bike paths.
My only recommendation is the the tongue throat be make a little larger for those of us with high arches and orthotics. It is a tight when attempting to put my foot in with orthotics in the boot.

I bought this beauties 1 month ago, had tested them in ice and snow conditions y High Tatras (Slovakia) and the kept me warm and comfortable, protects great the ankle and the toe. Only problem is that actually, for a boot this quality, I expected more from the grip in ice rocks, had 1 or 2 inconvenient moments were almost fell down. In paths that I had walk with others boots. So overall good but the grip can be improved

Bought the Quest because I have the summer GTX version, and it is my go to boot for medium to rough hiking, without being an heavy expedition boot; was a touch surprised that it is so stiff - would have liked a bit softer midsole for walking in the city + even more surprised that this not cheap medium duty boot did not have a rear spoiler to hold to snowshoes' rear straps!?!? (I took for granted it did = very dissapointed as my two different pairs of snowshoes I do have to reposition them after .5 hour in rough terrain!); otherwise they seem to be warm enough w/medium weight Merino wool socks down to -10-20C, and easily -33C with heavier pair (I did choose .5 size bigger to accomodate heaver socks!) :)
