I was really excited to get these shoes, but when I went for a run the first time, the bottoms of my feet were covered in blisters. I thought it was because they were new, but months later, they still cause blisters. Unfortunately they were expensive, otherwise I would've thrown them away and found a different pair.

I've been wearing Gel Kayanos for years, and I do not like the new redesign. The overall fit is smaller and the shoes are too tight to wear comfortably. I will be returning these. Also, since every pair ends up with a hole in the back ankle after a few months, I am finally ready to move on to another brand.

While other reviewers have commented on how these shoes are terrific if you have plantar fasciitis, my experience is not so if your PF has morphed into heel spurs. I found them to be too binding around the sore heel and they just irritated the soreness. I could not tolerate them.

I've bought nothing except Asics for the past 20 years, but this shoe will send me looking for another brand. I read other reviews about Asics making their shoes cheaper than previously but I thought if I ordered one of the higher priced models I would still get quality, I was wrong! First the shoe is stiff, I cannot even bend the shoe and the insole is hard as a rock. Secondly, the leather stitched parts from the heel, to the toe, and even the Asics symbol on the side is now plastic, and not a soft supportive plastic. The leather stitched toe guard now looks like it is dipped in a thin plastic type of paint. The heel which used to be stitched leather is now a hard stiff plastic (not rubber, plastic). Even the Asic symbol on the side simply looks painted on and it is only on the outer side of the shoe not the inner side. I always thought the symbol might offer some support but it definitely doesn't now. These are being sent back today and I now need to look for a new brand other than Asics.

The reviews are correct. The toe box is extremely narrow. Even sizing a half size up did not make much of a difference. Extremely disappointed with this purchase and returned both pairs of shoes.

I have been wearing the Asics Gel Kayano shoes for years. I just ordered the Asics Gel Kayano 24. The toe box was much smaller than my previous Asics. The left shoe was much smaller than the right shoe. I even compared them to my last pair. Thank you Zappos for being so good about taking shoes back.

I am that person who READS reviews but never WRITES them. I have to make an exception here! The Kayanos have been my “go to” running shoe for years now. I read about how ASICS changed up the toe box and folks said it was too narrow. The terrible rumors are true!!!! ASICS messed with it and now they are going back. Way too narrow in the toe box—my feet are actually tingling and want out!!!!! ASICS-why did you have to change an awesome shoe? Zappos-thank you for your 30-day run guarantee. I will buy all of my running shoes at Zappos now.

I have sworn by Kayano for years this is the worst pair of running shoes I have tried. It felt like I was wearing a knock off sneaker for looks NOT for running. What happened to the cushioned and supportive Kayano? The support is minimal and the sole is so thin, severe lack of comfort. I am so disappointed...:0( I would like to find the older models of Kayano, now those were running shoes! I'm surprised Asics went to the dark side by conforming to looks and not function.

Disappointed. The narrow width is significantly wider than in previous models. Hope you go back to the more narrow width for those w narrow feet. Thx!

I love to run, 100 miles a week! I have been wearing Kayano's for 10 years, and they are the best! Until now!!!! The reconstruction of the shoe is causing me pain on the top of my foot! It is so severe that I just about threw them in the trash. I will be returning these horrible shoes.

I been in wearing the Kayanos for over 8 years and this is the most horrible version ever. I have never had so many blisters in my life! I have to put bandaids on my heels every time I walk in them and the toe box is too narrow by the baby toe. I wish they would bring back the 21s or 20s. So disappointed in the 24s. I had to switch brands and wait to see if the 25s are going to be better :(

I have been a loyal purchaser of Kayano since Kayano 17. However, having purchased 2 pairs of 24 I have had my feet crippled on long runs with the ever narrower box. Particularly disappointing that there is no d width available. I have had to abandon in favour of Brooks Ghost

I teach dance and fitness classes I only buy and recommend asics to my students. I have worn the Kayano 21,22, 23 which were all fantastic . I was so excited to get the Kayano 24's, very, very disappointed . I am so ready to send this back . I felt no support in heels, arch's, and my feet were killing me and my knees. I ran to get a new pair of shoes, in less than a week of having my Kayano's.I got GT1000 6. They feel amazing , better heel support, better pronation support and my entire foot, felt much more comfortable ! Also much better traction on the soles of the GT1000 6, then Kayano 24 .

I dread buying new walking shoes because the shoes I bought the last time are never available. I've had several earlier versions of the Gel-Kayano and they were great. This one, however, seems like a completely different shoe. It's narrower, the toes are more pointed with less toe room, the quality seems to have decreased. I will never understand why these shoe companies change a style so drastically. Finding new shoes shouldn't be such an ordeal and waste so much time.

I'm a long time wearer of this running shoe (since Kayano 15) and there's a reason Asics describes Kayano 24 as "improved fit": It''s because most runners were unhappy with the 22-23 versions (length ran short, and toe box was too narrow and shallow). The Kayano 21 was the perfect stability shoe for me I bought 9 pairs and ran many marathons in the 21s. Yet my go to Kayano is still not the same. At least the Kayano 24's length is now true to size - but the toe box is insanely narrow. I have narrow feet, and the toe box feels like a tourniquet. Below are photos of the Kayano 24 (blue) and Kayano 21 (gray/purple) both are the same size & width, and clearly the fit is not the same. As a distance runner, fit and performance means everything. The Kayano 24 doesn't fit - and this is a deal breaker. You've let me down again Asics.

This style has been my favorite for years but the new styling did something to the footbed that adds instability to the performance. I can barely walk a straight line with these! So disappointed.

I have been a dedicated Kayano wearer for years and wear them with orthotics for distance running. When I tried these on today, they felt like they had no cushioning at all, as though I had been running in them for months already. Furthermore, the heel cup didn't grip my heel at all and I kept slipping out. I'm still wearing my old 23s and I guess will just order another pair as they are overdue for replacement.

Hate the 24's. I've worn Kayano's for years and buy at least 3x / year. The 24's are the worst shoe. They hurt after only a couple hours at most. Get a different shoe. You won't be happy with these.

I have worn several pairs of this shoe and have loved them. However, I had to return the new version. It was very disappointing. I found the sole way too rigid and the shoe generally uncomfortable. In all, it just seemed more cheaply constructed than earlier versions.

Since I became a runner the Asics Gel Kayano is the only shoe that has worked for me. I started in Asics Gel Kayano 16 and have been in the 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21. However, I have been extremely disappointed with the drastic changes with the models since the 21s. I bought the 22, 23, and 24 and had to return each pair because of feet pains and extremely tight and uncomfortable. I loved Asics Kayano and never had these issues with the 16-21 models. My issues with the models after 21 are: 1. The new type of stitching and material. It used to be stitching where you can see the stitches and these new tape like stitching is horrible. It presses down on your foot and hurts your foot. My foot breathed better in old material too. 2. Toe box width and height is extremely narrow! There used to be room in the toe box and with the addition of the new material that presses down and the toe box being narrow causes pain, blisters, and black toenails. 3. Heel box height is too short! My heel pops out due to y'all decreasing the height of the heel box. I never had Achilles pain but did have it with the models after 21. 4. Heel box is too wide due to less cushioning around heel. There is a significant decrease in the cushioning around the heel which causes it to be wide and not snug around the heel/ankle area. 5. Lack of cushioning and gel in the whole shoe. I continued to buy this shoe because it is was advertised as a high cushioned and supportive shoe. That is no longer the case. Y'all drastically reduced the cushioning in the shoe since the 21s, which has changed it for the worse. Please bring back the cushioning. If I wanted a less cushioned shoe, I would go to a different Asics shoe. I beg you to please bring back the features of the Asics Kayano 16-21s. It was a great shoe and the only shoe that has worked for me and other reviewers. I can't find a shoe like the Asics Kayanos 21 (and prior).

I would have to agree with previous post ... no cushion compared to 23. The style is nice but comfort for long runs will be an issue! ??

NOT comfortable. I've been wearing Asics Gels for years. This one is a total fail. Stiff with no give in the footbed. I've come to expect the softer cushion on each footfall. Sending this one back!!

OMG!!! The new "improved fit" kayanos are terrible. They are so small up front I get blisters. Please please go back to the kayano 21 style. I now have to look for a different running shoe that are not Asics because they ruined a great shoe!!!
