1) I'm about a 200 lb guy (even though this review might show it is under my wife's amazon account) so cushion in a shoe is very important. I do 3 to 5 mile runs 4-5 nights a week.
2) I try not to spend more than $100 on running shoes.
A while back, I bought the Kayano 22 on clearance for about $100. I LOVE them. The cushioning was perfect for a heavier runner like me. I liked them so much that when it was time to replace them, I paid the full price for the Kayano 24. I wasted $150. They clearly changed directions and focused on weight instead of cushion. This model feels like running on cardboard. I'm not going for hyperbole here - there literally is no cushion in these. I run at night on the treadmill. During my first run they felt hard but I just hoped they needed to be broken in. The morning after my first run, my feet hurt. It got worse after my next two 5 mile runs. Finally tonight, a quarter mile into my run my feet were hurting so bad I had to stop, throw them in the closet and put my old model 22's on. I will say, when I put my model 22 on, I could definitely tell they are heavier than the model 24, but my god, the model 24 simply has no cushioning whatsoever. I can't figure for the life of me what you are paying $150 for with these. If you want lightweight shoes that hurt your feet, go for these. If you are looking for a comfortable shoe, I'd look somewhere else.

Hallelujah I have finally found the perfect shoe for me! I am quite a bit of a flat-footed overpronator, which makes finding a shoe that won't give me blisters on my arches or toes like a quest for the holy grail. My main problems center around finding the right arch support and toe box width. I normally have to go to specialty running shops to find something that works for me.
After reading reviews stating that ASICS had fixed the toe box sizing issue, I decided to give this one a try. This a very comfortable and lightweight shoe. I haven't run very long distances with it yet, but I did wear them on a variety of 5k runs and hikes without any issues. I really like the color scheme as well. Finally a shoe for men that's not plain gray, black, or white!
I will most likely buy a second pair before they decide to change the model again.

I LOVE the look of this Kayano, but where's the cushioning? Asics is another brand that isn't what it used to be. I've given the Kayano 24 a lot of chances, and it just doesn't meet expectations. It is stiff, hard, and not that comfortable. I don't see how this version will be a good choice for overpronators (like me).
The colors are awesome; I love the look of this shoe more than any other. However, the Kayano 24 is not comfortable whatsoever. Disappointment all around. I hope the 25 will be completely different but still have amazing colors like the 24.

I used to have Kayano 17.
This model is completely different and has no gel, I could see anyway.
I gave 3 stars, as other shoes may be worse.
However, if I were to compare with my old Kayano - I'd give this Kayano only one star.

Excellent running shoes. Training for a marathon and no break in period with these runners. Bought them and went on a long run. No blisters, or any other niggles like with other runners I used in the past.

Comfortable, but expensive. However, worth the investment to avoid injury.

This is my second pair of this shoe, I liked my first pair so much I bought a second identical pair since yard mowing and chores have stained my first pair quite a bit. This is probably my tenth or eleventh pair of ASICS. I am a very senior citizen and the arch support and overall fit and comfort of ASICS have made me a loyal fan.

When I started running in my late 30's, I was plagued with injuries. After switching brands several times, I finally tried the GEL-KAYANO and have run injury-free... for over 25 years. The GEL-KAYANO is one of the few brands where I can get width of 4-E, which give me extra room in the toe-box...which improves my running comfort.

Quality trainer. I have narrow flat feet so it's difficult for me to find trainers that fit and give me the support I need, but these trainers are the best I've come across after trying on many for training. The fit is snug, my feet feel secure. I was doing deadlifts in these yesterday and they're the best I've felt doing that exercise in a while. I'm looking forward to getting back to running now I have some decent kicks.

Worn these for a few runs and wow was I impressed! My knees usually hurt due to Iliotibial Band Syndrome (ITBS), but these almost entirely negated that. They're also made of top-quality materials, and fit very well. I've used them for path running and for squash, and they excelled both times. A must-have for people with ITB syndrome!
Asics provides high quality products with enough different type of shoes to cater to any customer. I was blown away by the quality of my shoe, when previous, more expensive shoes have been of far inferior quality.

I have had this type of trainer before and it suitS mh needs. The only thing when purchasing was that I never had the option of the wider fit, which is what I usually wear. Standard fit was the default without the wide fit option. To tell you the truth, it didn't even say if the wider fit was out of stock.

This is my 2nd pair of Kayano 24s, the last pair had done 600 miles of long outside runs over 5 months so needed retiring. One of the main reasons I purchased again was that despite the 600 miles, they still felt and looked new, only the soles giving away the use they'd had. I over-pronate a little so need the stability. They are really comfortable even after months of use. Worth the money for sure.
