This Walk Easy SAS is a definitely keeper. I give it 5 stars all around, even for Style, though it is not an exciting shoe as to style. It is what it is, a sturdy, not too clunky or heavy, well-made all leather 'sneaker' style walking shoe. In my younger years, my feet needed a AA with a AAA heel, but I need a roomy toe box and a medium width feels best as long as the heel is well fitted and my heel doesn't shift around when walking. This meets those needs extremely well, and supports my pronation and flat feel very well. As a Texan, I know the reputation SAS has had for comfort and support. Somehow over the years I had forgotten these well-made, supportive shoes, but in my search for comfortable shoes for my problem arches and pronation. and no pressure on a tender bump on top of a big toe joint I am so happy to have rediscovered them. FYI, I tested wearing them with a mid-weight, graduated compression knee high sport sock. I wear an 8 1/2 Medium, so ordered that size and it fits well. The Coffee color is a deep, rich brown. I plan to use a waterproofing spray to protect them while traveling and touring.

Very good arch support, size is spot on. Laces are nice and hold a knot, unlike the usual crappy cheap laces in most shoes these days. Tongue is nicely padded and comfortable. When insole wears out you can get a new pair in a sas store. Toe box is comfortable and wide enough. Inside of shoe is nicely lined. Good quality shoe. Maybe not sexy, but a good walking shoe!

This shoe has a comfortable last with a roomy toe box. Many other casual shoes for women have an uncomfortable tapered toe box - this shoe does not. As another reviewer noted, the larger toe box is advantageous for bunions and hammer toes, which I also have. Like many other SAS shoes, it easily accommodates my prescription orthotics when the factory footbed is removed. The leather options - smooth leather - are newer choices. This shoe was formerly available in Nubuck only; the smooth leather can be maintained more easily.

I received The Walk Easy today and I will be returning them tomorrow. I am looking for a leather walking shoe and this did not suit me. They are very heavy and have a very thick sole with a rocker bottom. I found it impossible to stand still without tipping forward or backward. The toebox is very deep and my toes were lost. I give it one star because they are a very good quality of leather and made in the USA.

I bought these to take on a trip where I would be doing lots of walking. I loved them at first when I tried them on and walked around at home. The soles are springy and the toe box is wide. They would be the perfect shoe EXCEPT for the creasing problem I experienced in my toes. When I bend my foot forward when walking, the toe area creases in the normal place but also creases a little in an area where the hard toe cap at the front of the shoe hits the soft upper of the shoe. This crease hits directly on my little toe. By the end of the day, my pinky toe was in pain, but the rest of my feet were happy. I'm very disappointed that these shoes didn't work out for me. This may or may not happen to you depending on your foot/toe anatomy, but be aware that these shoes do crease in unexpected places in the front, especially when you are walking fast or bending your feet a lot. The sizing runs large. I normally wear an 8 or 8.5W in close-toed shoes, and a 7.5W in sandals without socks. I wear a 7.5WW in these and they are large and roomy in the toe box. This particular shoe seems to run larger than some of the other shoes this brand offers.

This is a great shoe. The leather is softand the shoe is well made and of beautiful quality. They feel a little large because of the wide toe box. I tried them a half size smaller but realized they are much better in my regular size. This style looks less old fashioned than some of their other styles. I have them in black leather. I originally got them because I had bunions and hammertoes and needed a shoe that did not rub. I had these surgically corrected but I still love these shoes and wear them almost every day.

In general I think SAS shoes are excellent. My other SAS shoes are quite roomy and the leather is soft, but his shoe seems small and the leather is quite stiff. A disappointment.

I LOVE these shoes. They are extremely comfortable and have a sort of rocker motion which in some weird way makes it easier to walk. I had to play around with the size because I have very short and wide feet. I’m used to buying long to get the width. Didn’t have to do that with these and they fit great.

I really like the SAS brand. They are made with quality leather and other materials right here in the USA. I tried several different styles of their shoes and found the fit (size) and quality consistent no matter which style of shoe. So overall an A+ for SAS sizing and quality. I really loved this shoe. The fit was great and the comfort was wonderful. This is a shoe that I felt I could walk and walk and not have my feet bothered. I like Walking in this shoe is almost effortless. I'm not sure what to call it - if it is a rocking motion or what, but really easy walking (so SAS named this shoe Walking Easy - very fitting because that perfectly described my experience walking in these), The only reason I did not keep this shoe was because it did not have enough support for me. Now, with that being said, it has really good support - for the average person. However, I need a lot of support. To give you an idea of the kind of support I mean, I wear Birkenstock sandals and Dansko professional clogs. So, even though they were not exactly right for me in the support category, fit, comfort and quality were top notch. I truly wish they would have worked for me. I highly recommend you try them for yourself. I do believe they are worth the money if they work for you.

I basically liked the shoe: the fit, the style, how it looked on me, and the full toe box. However, with my bony and skinny feet I felt all the 'hardware' on the top of the shoe and the lack of cushion on the bottom. Also, the heel has an angle to the end, which I guess has a purpose and which I would have gotten accustomed to, but I didn't like it. I am desperate for a comfortable shoe to wear casually all day long, but sadly, feel I must return this one and keep looking.

Pluses: Well sized, roomy toe bo, plenty of cushioning, good support. But--the sole is high on the outside, turning my ankles inward, so they aren't comfortable for me. (I've had the same experience with New Balance, which other people love.) Unfortunately, I have to return them.

I walk 5 to 7 miles on a paved bike path 3 to 4 days a week. These shoes are very comfortable. I no longer have leg or knee pain. I purchased the shoes from SAS directly. Delivery was quick.

I now own these shoes in three colors, that's how much I love them. They're less of a sneaker and more of an oxford. Bit of a heads-up: the insole footbed compresses and relaxes as you walk, suggesting heel slippage. But it really isn't slippage. It's definitely unusual, though. I have never experienced anything quite like it. Great shoe for all-day wear and touring. The rounded toe is comfy and the laces slide easily through the D-rings, making it a breeze to customize your fit.

I like these and the other SAS I have tried. They are quite comfortable, which is hugely important. I wear 12N with high arches. I believe I could walk all day in these. SAS shoes are not stylish, so I am trying to decide if I have the nerve to wear these well made, very comfortable, not really attractive shoes.

These shoes are attractive and comfortable on difficult to fit feet. Somehow, although they are the "sensible tie shoes" I swore I'd never wear, they do not scream "old lady", but seem quite youthful looking compared to other oxfords. I am eternally grateful to Zappos and to SAS for offering hard to find sizes for people with very long and narrow feet.

I have never gone wrong with SAS shoes and this style is no exception. The shoe provides excellent support, which allows me to wear them all day and still be comfortable. I like this style because I have extremely high arches and very narrow heels. The laces across the arches allow me to tie them as tightly as I can wear comfortably, plus the security of laces keeps the shoe from flopping on my narrow heels. This is not what some would classify as a “stylish and fashionable” shoe. Never mind. I got these because I needed a shoe that fits my feet and provides sustained support. They are stylish enough for me, precisely because they do not look “clunky or old lady” shoes. I can wear them pretty much anywhere. I am taking them on a trip through safari country and feel absolutely secure about wearing them for long walks and climbing. A shoe with less substantial construction would not work at all under these conditions. I recommend this shoe for everyday comfortable wear and, additionally, for wear requiring more rigorous demands.

For running/walking shoes that are more casual, I like the Brooks shoes, Ravena style.

This shoe seems to be great with walking around the house to try them before venturing out. A little expensive but worth it for my problem right foot. Seems to have more support than other brands I've bought in the past. I can get my custom orthodic & problematic foot in with ease.

This is my 4th or 5th pair of Walk Easy. I've worn SAS for years and love them. Walk Easy leather is a little more substantial that FreeTime leather and I like the design. It comes with a cushiony insert, but I use my own. I have really beaten up my current pair, but they polished up nicely for everyday. I have tried other brands but SAS keep me from getting corns.

Wear shoes for 12 hour shifts that involve a lot of walking that need to be in all black or white. Wore Dansko clogs for years with good results. Decided to change up for a bit and bought regular all black sneakers that were not supportive enough for my needs. Found these, purchased, and find them to be a high quality shoe that meets my needs for a good 'duty shoe.' I find it well worth it to spend the extra on a high quality well shoe for my work needs!

I am very satisfied with the purchase of these shoes. They fit true to size and width. What I noticed after trying them on , was something I did not expect, that is my stance was straighter from my hips down. One other noticeable advantage, seems to be because of the way the shoe is constructed, making walking seem effortless. I do recommend these shoes. They are supportive, wellmade, and an overall quality shoe.

Good fit for me because structured enough to accommodate AFO, has moderate rocker bottom features that allow for swinging gate to compensate for foot drop, and is stylish and comfortable. Quality materials and construction.

I purchased these nubuck oxfords because the pair I have take good care of my feet. My orthodics fit inside, the laces stay tied, and the shoe is made to support your feet comfortably. These are a grey blue, my other ones are charcoal.
