I am a Nurse. I am on my feet at least 12 hours or more every day. I have bought this same shoe for probably 15 years. Sas has been around for years. Each time I need a new pair of shoes I look for this same pair same white sas shoe. They fit perfect every time. The only change is the price. I used to pay almost 100 dollars for the shoe. Now it comes close to 200 dollars. They last a long long time so I am ok with 200 dollars for a shoe I ware over 12 hours a day. When I take them off I have NO foot or leg pain at all. Great support.

none, this is the best. Buy the best.

In some of the colors, they remind me of the classic "old lady shoe." With all apologies to great seniors! I'm a young senior and love the blue color. It's a soft blue and the leather is so very soft, yet not like a pair of gloves that offer no support. They look great with faded jeans. This is my first pair of SAS, and I've always cared about wearing good shoes. I'm not sure why it took me so long to try the brand, but reading the reviews convinced me worth trying. My feet had been aching for a couple months after lots of fly fishing in wading boots walking all over all sizes of rocks for a month in NZ. All of a sudden, it hit me: maybe the slightest wedge sole would be beneficial, as opposed to flat supportive sandals and shoes. What a winner! This is a quality shoe. Buttery leather, beautiful insoles that offer plenty of dense supportive cushion and arch support. Soft cushioning creates it's own set of problems, such as too much motion and then joint issues and foot fatigue. This insole is very dense but thick cushioning. I love that the soles aren't white! The gray looks understated and classy. They run completely true to size. I dropped a splash of water on one shoe and was worried it would leave a mark. Ten minutes later, completely gone. I love this shoe so much that I ordered the sandal Pampas. Same tiny wedge and the most comfortable sandal I've had in years.

These shoes were handsome to look at and comfy right out of the box. I wore them around the house for a while and eventually realized, even though I loved them, my heels were slipping out with every step, so I'd better return them. SAS even included a spare pair of laces! I fault my narrow heels, not the shoes, for the need to send them back.

Great supportive shoe, but slipped off my heels. I couldn't decided between these (Free Time) and Willow - so got both to make a decision. I love the Willow most and am keeping them - especially for summer. I think they're much more summer-like looking and so soft and comfortable and way more fashionable. I have terrible and painful feet. I believe I will get a pair of the Free Time shoes in black for winter. And last but for sure not least - I couldn't do without Zappo's. I don't buy shoes anywhere except at Zappo's

I have had three pairs of these shoes for years, and they were wearing out. I was so happy to find that I could order them on line. They are quite expensive, but they are the most comfortable shoes I have had. I can put my othodics in them and they work well. The shoes hold up incredibly well, since the old pairs I have just worn out must be at least 10 years old. I would recommend these shoes to everyone. I have a very narrow heal, and find it very difficult to find comfortable shoes. These are the BEST!

very comfortable shoe for my mother. She has high arch and wide foot and needs a shoe like this. It is true to width. Instantly comfortable and gets better with wearing. Soft sole and very supportive. Easy to tie laces. This is her second pair, and the style has changed a little over the 3 years she has had them, so to be expected, (see picture below). Overall very happy with the purchase. Had to order two or 3 pairs to make sure she had the right fit, and then success!

I purchased this exact same shoe two years ago where am I was professionally fit at a local shoe store. My podiatrist, who has been treating an ingrown toenail, was very pleased with this particular shoe. It has the width in the toe, and it also hads height, giving the toe lots of room. I also wear a brace attached to both shoes to support a dropped foot. This shoe meets all my needs. I love the denim color.

I have worn this style SAS shoe for years. I worked delivering mail and was on my feet all day. This is the shoe that I wore. My feet and back were not hurting at the end of the day. If you are going on a vacation with a lot of walking involved I would recommend that you buy a pair of these shoes. You will not be sorry. I cannot wear sneakers so these are my choice for good shoes to walk in.

These shoes FELT great, but the toe room was too spacious for my narrow feet. SAS touring mesh is such a great shoe; I wish they would make some leather shoes in the same style.

I have skinny, low volume feet. I've also had multiple ankle/foot injuries in the last few years. After finding the Relaxed SAS sandals were perfect for my walking issues, I was afraid I'd never find a pair of proper shoes that worked as well. The Freetime in charcoal nubuck is working just fine. I'm stable on my feet and my walking is excellent. I usually buy an 8N but thought I'd try the Slim. My toes aren't pinched and the heel, if I lace correctly, does not slip. Not terrible to look at. Comfortable straight out of the box.

This is my second pair of SAS (Free Time) shoes I've purchased from Zappos. My first pair are the smoothest softest leather ever; the second pair are Nubuck. I also purchased SAS sandals. The comfort level of these shoes is extraordinary. After purchasing and wearing these shoes there is no way I could ever go back to wearing anything other than SAS. All of my foot problems (arthritis, callouses, achy feet at the end of the day, etc.) resolved after wearing these shoes. While they may be a little pricey they are worth every cent!!!!

Great shoes for people who are on their feet a lot. I wear a narrow and they are hard to find so I usually get them at Zappos. There is a store that carries this brand where I live but they don't bother to carry a narrow. The medium shoes is just way to wide. I have narrow feet with a high instep so most shoes don't fit.

New review, I may have reviewed some time ago. I have a number of SAS shoes, mostly in 8W, a couple in 8.5WW. They are good, USA-made leather and or nubuck shoes. They are comfortable , true to size (though I did return two 8W's for 8.5WW's). The big, IE huge problem I have with most of these shoes (and they are NOT cheap), is that the soles are VERY slippery especially on rugs and asphalt pavement. I bought these shoes prior to toe surgery 18 months ago - I needed a joint replaced as I couldn't walk even in other wide width shoes. Now I can walk better but I'm afraid to use these because of the slippery soles. They cannot be "roughed up" using sandpaper and a shoemaker cannot fix them. It may be a rather expensive donation for me, but there is no way I can take a chance on slipping at my age (70's). Otherwise a quality shoe.

Bought these in charcoal and loved them, so I took a chance on the blue color, to have a second pair and also to have a lighter color for warmer weather. I don't love the blue - it seems that the suede makes a difference in how stylish they look, at least to my eye - but they are so comfortable and look okay enough that I'll keep them.

As a children care worker these shoes are lightweight and great fit. Low impact hiking and city walking wear like iron. A great investment for your feet.

I am looking for a well fitting winter [non mesh or stretch] shoe for: wide at the forefoot, narrow at the heel with a grippy sole and deeply cushioned for arthritic feet. This SAS Freetime shoe has a slippery sole and is narrow in the toe box. I t also took 8 days longer to arrive than the rest of my order.

This shoe looked a little too much like a nursing shoe. I'm sure it's really comfortable, but it was a little wide for my narrow foot, and this was the narrow width.

I have this shoe in the black suede, so I knew that the fit and arch support would be good. I don't like the blue color in leather as well as the suede version. For whatever reason, it doesn't look as stylish to my eye. But I'm going for comfort with these, not high fashion, and they certainly deliver on that. Very expensive, but worth it.

I've been wearing this style for too many years to count. My new blue ones make me feel twenty years younger, and, they are deep enough for my problematic bone spur to be totally comfortable while still feeling narrow enough

I'm afraid that SAS is the only brand I've found to fit my very long, very narrow, feet.

I have searched far and wide for a walking shoe that looks nice, comes in my size (5.5) with a roomy toe box and narrow heel (I purchased these in W to accommodate my wider toes and they still fit my narrow heel). Most brands only offer W widths in starting with size 6, so I was delighted to find my 5.5 size in a W. I've had discouraging experiences with several other 'comfort' brands and when I found these my search was over! I wore them straight out of the box and walked a mile in them the day they arrived and they got more comfortable with each step. The arch support is good for my high arches, though I may swap in my own inserts for extra metatarsal support. The laces are high quality and easy to adjust and - unlike other shoe vendors that use the same length laces whether a shoe is size 5 or size 11 - these laces are the proper length for the shoe size. My only small gripe is with the color - I ordered the sage hoping it would be a bit more toward the greenish side but these are really more of a taupe and kinda beige-blah. I also notice that the Nubuck is already showing some wear - I spilled a drop of water on one toe and it seems to have set as a stain, so I'll need to invest in some cleaner for them. Last: I realize you all are aiming for neutral colors to meet the widest possible tastes, but I would personally love to see these in some more interesting and fashion-forward colors, like a dark red / oxblood or a true moss green or even some kind of funky pattern to accommodate those of us who are 'of a certain age' yet still want to have fun footwear and are embracing the 'fancy granny' aesthetic. But I'll take em in whatever colors they come in because the comfort and fit are truly perfect. Thanks for answering my shoe prayers, SAS, I'll look forward to purchasing more here in the future.
