I was drawn to the sleek design and storage/organization of this backpack, but within a month of traveling for work, the PVC coating has become so marked and scratched it looks terrible. I had to buy myself another backpack because I felt embarrassed walking into appointments with the backpack in this condition. Awesome design, terrible finish.

I'm a person that loves minimal design and takes pride in taking care of my belongings. The bag is super practical and addresses all my storage needs. Absolutely no issues in this area. The one thing that really disappoints is how the front material scratches. I travel a lot for work and after my first trip the outside of my bag looked like it was thrown down a hill of nails (obviously exaggerating but you get the picture). I would buy this bag again for the storage but will probably go for the camo to hide the scratches (bought the black version).

I absolutely love the backpack, but the front space material wears off very easily. I have gone through two backpacks in a period of two and a half months because it wears so easily. I first got the white one and black marks started showing up. Then I purchased the black one thinking that wouldn't show as much but then white marks started showing up. I am not sure what I am doing because I use it to commute to work only. I really like the backspace which is why I am giving it three stars but I really wish the front material was more durable.

I'm sorry but this bookbags design is hideous compared to the old style - Kaban Transit. This doesn't even really compare to the Transit in terms of style and functionality. Please bring back the Kaban Transit!

I use this backpack everyday since I bough it 2 months ago. I was looking for a bag for hicking /street photography/ with iPad or laptop compartiment and work usability.
On the paper this bag has all the features and its less expensive than a special bag back as wandrd or peak design.
But I am very disappointing because the plastic on the front is very very fragile. It doesn't resist to a normal utilisation, every time you use you will get scratch even if you are careful when you have expensive equipment in it. After coming to the shop where I got the bag I asked for a product or something for Cleaning/ restore the surface nobody as the answer. I find that really poor for a bag with a life time warranty !

I use the pack primarily for school and I was very disappointed. I love North Face stuff normally and for the price expected something better. It does not fit my water bottles when full and if one fits I cant use the other side. The holders have started to tear as well. The shape of the front pocket makes it very difficult to use since it gets smaller at the bottom. Really weirdly designed bag that makes all the compartments hard to use. Nice laptop compartment though.

The front shows scuffs pretty much after the first day. In fact I got one online that already had marks that would not come off. They gave me an exchange but even the 2nd one had scuffs. Looks great but compared to the rest of their gear I'd not recommend this if you care greatly about how it looks. I'm not hard on my stuff and use it mostly for travel. After 6 months it looks trashy and I'm left disappointed and planning to purchase another non-North face product this time.

I do like the bag.. but it easily get scratches especially at TPE PVC coating even thou I'm very careful on where to put it..i have been using this for almost two weeks now and there is a lot of scratches already.. its not attractive anymore.. i hope North Face address this issue considering this bag is quite expensive.

I ordered this bag based off of the images on the product page in TNF Black. I was surprised when I unzipped the pack for the first time to see a bright gold material lining every compartment of the bag when the images on the site clearly showed a black lining. I ordered the bag for both personal and professional use and needed it to be somewhat inconspicuous. While it may only be the lining, the bag opens up so wide [one of the reasons I chose this bag] that the lining color immediately dominates. So if you're like me and need something a little more subdued you may need to look elsewhere.

Ordered this July 20th, got it today, July 25th just about a few minutes ago. Was very excited for this Kaban Back Pack to come in. What was not exciting was opening the back pack to find a Yellowish Brown color in the inside. Ordering this backpack online I felt that I had looked at all the color variations and decided that the all black was the right fit for me. I know some may not care for the difference with the interior color but I do. It makes it more irritating when it's an online purchase and you can't easily return it as if you bought it at the store. I called Northface to see what I can do. I was offered 10% back to keep it, which is roughly $12 or I can return it back. I like the backpack, I don't like the inside color. It's pretty much the same color of these 2 star ratings I'm about to give. I like the northface brand, I still like how the outside of the backpack looks. I'm giving it a 2 star for falsely advertising the wrong color variation on the website. I understand mistakes happen and that there are tons of backpacks and colors on their website.

I actually just bought this backpack a month ago. Here's what I think:
1. The straps are soft but they hurt on heavier backpack days. The back panel can sweat, like sweat sweat!
2. The top-loading mechanism eats up a lot of valuable space for a 26L backpack. Wish there were two zippers for top loading opener - I mean its the main pocket, please add another zipper man. Its pretty frustrating tbh. And the zip isn't the best, they can't be opened with one hand :|
3. the front-organization zipper is totally useless since it doesn't expand to accommodate anything big - and starts showing bulges in the nylon coating area. Personally, I would have preferred if this area expanded. Basically, NF preferred looks instead of functionality.
4. Love the grab handle - that's the best part of the backpack followed by the yellow interior & the inner organization.
5. The side bottle pockets dig into main capacity and aren't the best - could be better if they expanded, I have a 32oz bottle and I have to fit it inside the main body.
6. This backpack isn't heavy rain-proof! wth?
7. Already started scratching on the top nylon area :/
Also tempted to return this :(

Got this as a gift. I just had to return it, it's hideous. Way too long, an awkward fit overall. So weird looking. Exchanged for jester.

I use this product as a book bag for college and although it has a sleek design that aesthetic its purpose for space is limited. If you have a hydroflask or any water bottle bigger than the smallest one possible, it will not fit in the sidepockets. The logo on the shoulder sleeve fell off with only 2 weeks of light use. The main compartment barely fits 5 normal workbooks before you literally have to shove items in to make them fit. The smaller front pocket with a 3/4 zipper barely fits a packable rain jacket. For the price I suggest getting another company such as patagonia, addidas, anything but this bag from North Face. 1, its more for your buck, and they will not charge you to ship your package for repairs on their faulty product.

I was using this backpack daily for commuting on my bicycle until the part of the sternum strap came off which made it kinda difficult and uncomfortable to bike with. I have tried multiple times to fix it and was told I could send it in but would take a month to get fixed. It's only one small part but because apparently they have to take apart the stitching, then slide the piece in and stitch it back it would take a month. Seems they should've made it easier to get the part back on without having to send it in
