First off, I am life long skateboarder and wanted to try these (I like new balance as day-to-day shoes), but these were probably the WORST skate shoe I've ever worn... they are huge, bulky and honestly they feel like skating in bricks. The only way these shoes may work for you if you are consitently throwing yourself down 10+steps or off roofs (so much cushioning) other than they are worthless!

Awesome looking shoe, super comfortable, worn them to 5 kickboxing classes so far and no problems. Righteous skate shoe.

Don't know what that other guy is on about but these are a nice shoe. Super comfy, decent heel protection and the dual layer toe means they outlast most other skate shoes. Ok so they don't have the best board feel but with the rough surfaces of the uk streets it makes a pleasant change not to be rattled to pieces on route. They come up half a size small so compare the US size, UK size and CM size to work out which is best compared to your normal shoe brand. I'd definitely buy these again.

I had the first generation 586 in black, grey, and red. These are a full size smaller.

I love the shoes and the material. Color is perfect. Also got really good service from new balance. Ups messed up my delivery by saying they deliver the shoes to my house which they didn't. New balance sent me a new pair of shoes as a first time courtesy. What a great company this is.

I am looking for a comfortable daily walking shoe with that is comfy and lightweight and has a skate shape. Without the soft heel that I count on from new balance, these shoes didn't feel great immediately the way ive come to expect new balance to perform out of the box. I could probably break these in and have some amazing shoes that are slightly less comfy compared to a running shoe, but I don't want to gamble that they will eventually mold to my foot based on the return policy. these probably have great 'board feel' for skateboarding.

Good looking sneaker in person, what you see is what you get. The fit is good but the shoe is a bit stiff. Have yet to break them in having only worn them 3 times. But they are one of those sneaks that do require a little breaking in. Also, they are on the heavier side so they are purely a walking and lounging shoe.

This sneaker fits like every other new balance which I find to be a little on the wider side. If you bought new Balance before than the length size will be the same. The shoe is a bit on the stiff side. I really have not worn them yet so i cant say how they will loosen up but when i pulled them out at first, it was evident they were stiff. However, they are not an athletic shoe so i am fine that they are a bit stiff

The style is fire, but they are too narrow, much more than their running or trail shoes that I normally wear. I get it though, they are designed as skate shoes, but come on NB, a lot of us wear NB because you make larger sizes!

Usually a size 12 but not for this shoe. I have to send it back and get a 12 1/2 unfortunately

Tried them on in 2 sizes. One bigger and one I expect to fit. This did not work for me because the toebox has no cushioning. It is also narrow and the inner liner in the toe box is stiff. Overall uncomfortable to wear, but HAS GREAT ARCH SUPPORT! Everywhere else is good, but very narrow. I recommend a half size up from what you normally wear!

Solid shoe, comfortable upper, good sole, requires some break in time. I required a half size up from my "true" size but that is the case with quite a few running shoes I buy as well. My primary complaint is the lack of cushioning despite the appearance of runner characteristics. Insole is surprisingly dense, almost feels more like rubber than EVA foam - no bounce there. Midsole has a small amount of foam in heel but mostly feels like hard rubber. No give whatsoever in forefoot. Result is a shoe with a larger than the (currently) average profile but without substantial cushioning advantage over the rest of the Numeric line. Would willingly trade some boardfeel for shock absorption but in this case it feels like one gets neither.

All descriptions are dead on!!!Delivery was fast!!! Maybe it just needs a break in to soften the leather!!!

These look great online and in person, but they are the most uncomfortable shoe I have ever worn. Serious buyer's remorse on this one.
