I'm an avid user of waist packs so with lots of experience I'm a tough customer. This pack is quite pricey. It could and should be perfect for this price.
With me it gets heavy travel and hiking miles and I find it to be very durable, but the narrow waist belt, small buckle and misplaced top handle drive me crazy. The narrow belt cuts into me when there's any weight and the small buckle is hard to operate. The top handle is always in the way of the zippers, especially when the pack Is hanging. It should be on the back seam, not between the two zippers. IMO it would be better if the water bottle pockets were a tad wider to accommodate a regular sized Podium bottle and delete the ones that come with it. (maybe lower the cost?) An inside secure zippered pocket would be very handy for cash, passport, etc.

Absolutely love this pack! Design keeps heat away from your back, lightweight and highly adjustable. Water bottles are sturdy and good sized. Love the small accessible side pockets for keys and phone. Also, great customer service!

I used this product all summer for field work for my job. The pack is compact so that you aren't weighed down, but has enough room to carry essential gear (water, snacks/lunch, bug spray, sunscreen, etc.) I especially love the side pockets that are the perfect shape for a phone and a multi-tool. It's comfortable over long days of hiking. I am never going back to a backpack again!

I am a trail ultrarunner and a hiker and I really like this pack. It doesn't bounce when I run and it holds everything I need for a race or a short day hike. The bottles are easy to take out and put back in without having to turn the pack around. I also LOVE the bottles that come with it. They are see-thru, so you can see where they need to be scrubbed; and the tops are wide, so it's easy to get a bottle brush in there to clean them. Two things would make me give this pack 5 stars. 1) Make the hip pockets slightly larger so my phone will fit in there, and 2) make it waterproof. When rain is in the forecast I put my stuff in a plastic bag inside the pack. But, it'd be nice to not have to do that.

I have back issues and so I like this so much better than having weight on my back. And I really like that I can slide it around for easy access instead of having to take a backpack off to access my stuff. It's very comfortable except when it's heavily loaded, the one inch strap across my stomach can put uncomfortable pressure across my abdomen. It would be better if the 1" wide abdomen strap were padded or wider. I am 5'7" and weight 145.

Pros: roomy, lightweight, adjustable straps, comfortable when not fully loaded, looks nice
Cons: not waterproof, absence of rain cover, absence of whistle, thin strap makes it uncomfortable when pack is fully loaded, expensive.

I bought this for hiking in hot weather where I really don't need a backpack and I wanted to have 2 water bottles. It's fine if the bottles are empty but add any weight and it doesn't sit flat unless it's super tight, at which point it's horribly uncomfortable and digs into my stomach. I was thinking I am just too short/too short torso to wear this, however it was supposed to be for women, so it should work. My male friend wore it instead and it fit him much better. Shame Osprey doesn't take returns on used products, I guess I will try and sell it . At least now I know for future purchases.
