These definitely are not water proof. Feet will get soaked in wet grass.

My wife and I have purchased several pairs of Merrells. This pair by far is the least comfortable. Less padding and very stiff. I have worn these about 5 or 6 times and the laces are frayed. I went on the website to email customer support and my order history has disappeared!! Not a happy camper.

My whole family wears Merrells and they always last years. Replaced a several year old pair with these last year and after one year of moderate use the side tore. It took about 6 months before they felt truly comfortable and then just after the warranty expired they ripped. Love the brand and will buy others in the future probably, but maybe not these.

Shoe is a bit stiff, but may break in. The first pair I received had to be returned because the waterproof liner in one shoe had a crease inside that rubbed my toes. The second pair are ok, but they make my feet Hot and sweaty. I think these shoes are mainly for wintertime and not great for hot weather. I wish, I knew this before I purchased them.

I wore these around the house. I wanted to get a feel for the hiking so went up and down the stairs. It was only a few times that my foot hurt and I had a blister. There isn’t much cushioning in the foot bed. I also went to them awhile later and checked the footbed again to see why I might have blistered so easily and it was damp inside. They are waterproof but say the mesh helps keep it airy. The little bit I did inside on the carpet and they are damp or did they come that way? Disappointed. Returning.

5th pair I have owned. This last pair was slightly different in sole softness. Less comfortable and "hard". They need to bring back the better inserts.

Was looking for a replacement for my golf shoes. These are slightly heavier but love the stability.
Unfortunately they are not waterproof in my early rounds of golf. The dew on the grass was making my socks wet after a month

I had the original Moab Gore Tex from 2008, loved the traction and comfort for years of hiking before they eventually wore flat and leaked water. I had another variation of Merrell Gore Tex hiking shoes from around 2015 (Capra Sport) that I also loved the traction and comfort of until they also wore flat and leaked (seem to last about 6-7 years before they're done). These new Moab 2 I just got do not have nearly the traction of the previous two pairs I had, they are more slippery on rocks and roots and dirt trails, not sure if it's because they are new and I've only hiked a few times (~10mi) but I've slipped more often than usual and don't have the confidence I'm used to with previous Merrell hiking shoes I've been using over the last 14 years. Not sure if the rubber changed or they just need to break in longer but I'm not thrilled about the performance of these compared to previous generations.

I purchased the waterproof Moabs along with the Ventilator Moabs and I definately prefer the Vents their much cooler and the tongue of the shoe fits my foot better. The waterproofs have a crunchy type sound when putting them on but I don't notice that when wearing them I assume that's the waterproof material inside the tongue and shoe? I'm sure the Moab Gore Tex is a much better shoe but the price difference was too much for my taste!!!

Super comfortable and very supportive. My everyday go-to shoes. Especially with arthritic knees and some leg neuropathy. That said - my first two pairs, years back - literally wore out to the point I wondered if we should resole them. Loved those guys. Got new ones instead. Also, I do have a brand new pair right now because I cannot give them up compared to everything else I tried on. That said - last two pairs - since they switched to Chinese factories about 7-8 years ago - fall apart. The toes where the sides are glued to the soles separate - and flop. Same on both pairs. This after about a year's use - they start to come apart. Soles not even worn, no other signs of wear. Appear like new, but... Same failure point each time. Where the black toe protector is - they do not adhere long or well to the bottom sole. I have complained, they shrugged. So whatever changes in factory, glue or production started around 2015-16 is inferior to the Merrills' I knew and loved. But as I said, they are still my choice. Just wish they would hear me.

I purchased the Moab mid WATERPROOF. My feet are wet within 5 minutes of walking in wet grass. I work 9 hour days. That means I have WET feet for 8 hours and 55 minutes a day. This is unacceptable !

I have bought the pair ahead of time. Did they shrink in the closet or the producent save some material. They are definitely too small. I am ordering a size larger.

I'm a big fan of Merrell shoes. I bought a similar pair before my trip to Israel some years ago. They last forever, so I still wear them for yard work. I bought this new pair that are waterproof and similar style, but they feel a lot more stiff so I'm hoping with time to break them in they will be more comfortable.

Too developed from the previous version of the same model I had.
They were bigger, narrower and not as comfortable.
