Great shoe. Very comfortable and a pleasure to wear. One drawback. The one makes a weird flopping sound when you walk. I guess it has something to do with the insert for the sole. Not sure how to correct this one but otherwise a great shoe.

Great boot that got me through a winter home build in Lake Tahoe. My feet stayed dry and pretty warm - I never had to put boot warmers in them. I've got a Morton's Neuroma and the width of this boot was great for keeping me pain-free throughout the day. Unfortunately, the laces will not hold up and only lasted about 5 months, so that's a pain that you'd have to live with

Very Comfortable and supportive. 4 stars because the lace "strap" broke almost immediately. I wear my boots tight so any cloth or strap style lace loop will not hold up. Luckily, it doesn't really affect performance because the lace hooks above it on both sides are metal. I would prefer that the cloth lace loops be replaced with metal lace hooks. Still a great boot that looks good and performed in the mountains of Flagstaff with no problem.

These fit awesome! They are waterproof! No doubt there i've been wearing these for years and the only downfall l have with them is the top rubber around the toe doesnt seem to be as thick as it once was. I work in hvac business and have to crawl around and the rubber around the toe splits and junks out in less than 6 months. It used to last alot longer but it felt thicker back then. Still a great shoe. I still buy them even with the issue l have .

The quality of the shoes build is unmistakable! I on the other hand I have re-discovered that Merrell footwear just does not fit true to size. I have average width feet and have wore size 9 forever and as much as I wanted these shoes to work out they were just too short and too tight. Wearing them with dress type socks was better but what's the point of wearing hiking shoes?

Best fitting shoe I've ever had. I have wide feet and have had ankle problems in the past, and the mid-rise Moab 2 wide is my every-day jam. I walk 5-6 miles every day, and these shoes keep my feet happy and dry in almost any weather. They take me on light hikes and urban walks in all kinds of conditions. 5-star for fit, comfort, and quality, 4-star for durability. After 5-6 months, I've worn the soles down flat, and usually the gore-tex liner seems to give up on me around the same time. I'm hard on these, though--I'm a big guy, and putting 35+ miles on them every week is a lot to ask of a shoe designed for regular size people and less urban-y surfaces.

I was convinced by my nephew to try brand"X" after wearing these Moab 2s for a few years. What I learned? Merrell's soles last longer. I walk 15-20 miles a week on concrete sidewalks. Brand "X" gave up the ghost after about 6 months. The Merrells are lighter weight and less fatiguing to walk in. The one thing Brand "X" had over Merrell was they were warmer in a Chicago winter, but a good pair of socks will do the trick. I'm a Merrell man for life.

I had to get a men's boot to get the fit I need. I wear an 11 W in women's and have a hard time getting boots that fit right. The men's size slips in the heal a little but is very comfortable to wear. My husband wears Merrill boots and thought I'd like them also. He was right!

Comfortable shoes. Didn't get a chance to break them in prior to my hunting trip and didn't really need to. Decent shoe for the money

Great solid shoe. I disc golf weekly and also hike around Wayne National forest from time to time and these hold up great. I'm a big fat guy and these still take a good long while to break down. Last pair I had lasted me over two years and the only detrimental thing that happened was part of the tred tore off when I was disc golfing. The only issue I have with this new pair I got this is the inner liner was not properly glued to the shoe so it's loose.

I have broke them in and they were comfortable out of the box. Only a 4 rating because I haven't had them on any backpacking trips as of yet. Well built and I have a EE wide foot, with a high instep, and these are a good fit.

I have bought these and it's predecessor in the past and have loved them. Fit perfect out of the box and can handle long or short hikes. I've even traversed through trails with puddles and the water resistant exterior mixed with the moisture wicking gore-tex lining kept my feet dry and pain free. I recommend this boot for anything short of mountaineering. Unfortunately I can't fit into these any longer. Size 15 is the max. If I could get into a 16 that would be life changing. Alas it is not possible. So I am forced to search the harsh large sized shoe apocalypse for a find such as these merrell moabs.

Should be nicknamed the "Toe Murderer". Solid boot not as waterproof as you might think. (Dont submerge). Ran around the Olympic Forests and walking downhill Mt. Storm King was gnarly. The dog were barking if ya get what I mean. All around good boot but needs more cushion.

Great tread/traction. Perfect fit for my wide feet. Haven't tested the waterproofing but previous Merrill boots did well. For rocky trails a bit more stability would be helpful

Nice boots. They protected my feet during the latest snow, about 9 inches. They have good traction and they fit well. They are also cool enough to wear indoors. However, the left tongue lace eyelet let go after just a couple of days. That is my only complaint. I have always enjoyed Merrell shoes and boots.

My husband is on his feet all day - hauling mail for the US Post Office. This is his second pair and he loves them. Super comfortable, and provides the support he needs being on his feet all day. Plus they breathe, so his feet don't get all hot.

These boots are stylish and comfortable, but a hybrid between a real hiking boot and tennis shoes. I have worn out ankles with 7 screws in the right ankle and a collapsing pronation of the left ankle to the inside so I wear these boots everyday for protection and support. I go through about two pairs per year so I have used up approximately 22 pairs since 2010. Once they start getting worn they are no longer waterproof and for me the soles start separating from the rest of the boot near the forward outside edge. Also when stepping on pointed rocks like a limestone driveway I can feel pain in the bottom of my foot so the soles don't protect enough. Still they are above average as far as quality compared to many other brands out there, but I expect more for my hard earned money. Unfortunately it's no longer the America of yesteryear. We now live in a time whereby the quality and values of society show up in the products we produce. Over the past few decades quality has gone downhill while prices continue to climb. It has to do with inflation, societal greed, and reduced good will for our fellow man. We no longer strive to make sure the customer is getting a good exchange for their hard earned money. It's now all about tricking the customer into paying more money for products than what they are actually worth with a fancy facade but lower quality performance. There's some truth for you.

Generous width in wides, the toe box is nice and wide. Not quite as waterproof as I hoped, the outer seam of both shoes seem to leak water. Much better than the regular Merrell waterproofing though. Very comfortable to wear all day on most surfaces, they can be slippery on wet concrete though.

My old pair were size 10, whereas in general I wear a 9. When my old pair wore out (they lasted YEARS btw) I bought another 10. They were too large. I exchanged for a 9.5. These still feel SLIGHTLY roomy, but I’m going with them. Next size down would likely be too snug with heavy winter socks. I conclude for others contemplating sizing that these will require you go up a half-size for a good fit.

Fit is true to size 10.5W. Being a mid-height is good for me with some ankle support. Have only worn a couple times so far. Not the best feel right out of the box, hoping it will get better with some more use.

I took these, after an in-town break in, to the Pine Mountain Trail in GA, and walked 20 miles in them during the trip. There were multiple creek crossings and my feet stayed dry. The toe box worked well during descents. It is hard to find wide hikers and these fit the bill for my diabetic feet. The aggressive tread was perfect.
