I'm somewhere between a size 16 and 18 pant size and the XL fit great. The North Face doesn't do a great job with sizes for bigger people which makes no sense. If the idea is to encourage activity and shrink waistlines, people have to start somewhere and doing it in sub-par gear isn't keeping people out on those trails. I'm fortunate enough to have moved off the plus sized gear from a competitor because their gear was only okay and increasingly annoying. Here's the thing about these Capris: I hike and I paddle board and want to stay covered when I do both. Jeans are okay for hiking except it's now blazing hot and I need something breathable. I also need something durable. The competitor's capris snagged on day 1. So far, I've trampled through some rough stuff and I haven't gotten any snags. First demand met: the snag test. I paddle boarded in these yesterday and oh yes, I ended up in the river and these capris got wet but were dry by the time I got home. To those asking: Why not take a change of clothes, you ninny?? Yeah, I took a change but there wasn't a place to change. I saw a guy just give up and change out of his wet clothes 15 feet away from me (this is Idaho folks, we don't have snazzy restrooms along every take out.) I wasn't going to strip down out there and was willing to see how the capris would perform under my second big demand...quick dry. They did just fine. I'm hoping to fit into a large by the end of the summer but The North Face, keep thinking of the XL folks out here because we're active too! Everybody should get out there and do their thing.

Was excited to wear these on a five-day backpacking trip, since they are comfy and the knit waistband was a nice change from traditional-waisted hiking pants. However, within the second day of hiking, the fabric began to pill horribly, even in areas with no friction contact. By the end of five days, these new pants looked worse than others I've had and used for years! Hugely disappointing. Expected better fabric, especially as their description indicates that they are "ultra-durable."

This is my 3rd pair of these capris, the other 2 pairs I’ve had for a few years & have worn a lot & have held up great. When these arrived I was delighted, but they’ve started to pill like crazy after just a few wears & two washes. Very disappointed, something has definitely changed in the manufacture of these new ones, & the quality is very poor.

I bought these in 3 different colors to wear for hiking, walks and casual wear. I love the look and feel, and the color selection is great. Unfortunately all 3 pair developed pilling not long after purchase. The pilling is small and fine so it's impossible to remove and is all over the fabric - not just in high touch areas.

LOVE THESE ! might get a couple more colors. 130 lbs, 5'7", usually wear 4 or 6 in bottoms. Ordered in a small. I don't usually find a capri that I like other than fitted style leggings. I have a thin calf and ankle and most capris feel to wide a the leg bottom to my liking. These have a little elastic that keeps them "tapered" a bit at the opening. Fabric is light, smooth across the bum. Nice wide waistband. Might be a little warm and sweaty on a really hot day ? No rear pockets but 2 up front PLUS one zipper close too.

These are awesome. So comfortable and long enough for tall girls. I am 5'10" and lots of capris look like knee pants. These are great!!!

I'm 4'9". I happen to like slightly longer capris that are a few inches above the ankle, not mid calf. These were the perfect length at a 22 inche inseam. They are lightweight and super comfortable especially the waistband. I bought them in black and desert shale which is an off white neutral shade. They are nice for the summer because material is not heavy. I just wish they came in white too.

First, stats- 5'3", 104 lbs, waist-25", waistband- 31", widest part of hip- 33". I wear an XS Petite in most all pants, or a 25 short in jeans. I ordered these capris in an XS and they are perfect. Not tight, not baggy. The first time I tried these on, I was a little disappointed. I feel that as a shorter woman, I look better in capris that are not quite so long (these hit mid shin). However, I wore them out to play in a creek with the kids and when I saw myself in pictures my husband had taken, I was surprised! These pants were very flattering! The elasticized ankles were nice, I just pulled up the legs and cinched the elastic, no toggle or fasteners, but they mostly stayed put. The fabric is super comfortable; thin and stretchy but not static-clingy. Three separate occasions really clinched these pants for me. First, they fit over my shoes. Running shoes, chacos, whatever- the go right over. No hopping around, falling over trying to get pants on between a morning long run and brunch. Just pull them on over and you are good to go! That right there sold me on the capris. Then, THEN- we went camping and it was going to be a bit chillier than I had anticipated- turns out these capris make a very soft, comfortable sleep pant! AND in the middle of the night while camping, my fingers swelled a little and my ring felt tight. No problem, just zip my ring into my little secret zipper pocket and go back to sleep! I didn't even have to get out of my sleeping bag! So, yes, I recommend these pants. I am now trying to decide if I need more of the capris or if I should branch out and try other items in the Aphrodite line.

These pants are amazing. The only thing keeping them from a 5-Star review is that a drip of ice cream (being enjoyed post-hike) is now a permanent spot. I treated the spot immediately, and then washed according to instructions with no luck. If it were dye I’d understand...but ice cream??

I bought these pants to wear while hiking/camping this summer. Just after the first wear - fabric had MAJOR PILLING all over. It's probably been worn maybe a handful of times and washed on gentle cycle and air dried. The pants look horrible to the point that I am embarrassed to wear it - because it looks so worn and damaged. The fit is good especially if you're petite but I would NOT RECOMMEND IT!! Save your money and find something else with more durable fabric.

Super comfortable. Might run slightly large but I ordered and kept my usual size L. 5’4, 155. Medium would probably work too. So lightweight and great pockets. The navy heather looks chic. Great for travel.

Love these pants. I was looking for something to replace an old pair of beige capris and these are perfect. Casual but not too sporty looking, super comfy, stretchy but not baggy. I'm going to try to find them in another color, too. Fits true to size and the drawstring lets you make them tighter or looser. For the record, I'm 5'1" and they hit me mid-calf.

I know I'm in a minority here, and I LOVE the Aphrodite shorts, which are super flattering, but these look awful on me. They make my hips look wide and my legs look stumpy. They pockets are way too big, and the legs about two inches too long for a real capri. The ruching does my thighs no favors. They are comfortable, but back they go.

Bought these mainly for hiking in those in between temperatures. So comfortable yet breathable! Wore them in windy 50-60 degree weather and felt great. When it warmed up to 70's one day, still was comfortable. Allowed for movement and climbing without issue. I'm 5'3 124 pounds and bought a medium because I don't like tight waisted pants for hiking. Will definitely buy another pair and try out the pants!

I needed another pair of capri length pants for teaching in the Pilates studio (in which I mostly talk) as well as for teaching mat class (in which I demo movements)... My husband obliged by ordering me these pants! They are sooo comfy, with good pockets, and good movement... I like the slight elastic at the cuff - it keeps them looking neat... Note: I am a curvy 5'11" and normally wear a L/XL or 14/16.... I had to exchange the XL for a L because they ran rather roomy in the hips... Glad I did!

I love these capris. I wear them to walk the dog, go to gym, errands, and even dining out. They fit great and are very lightweight. The pockets are large and a bit stretchy and hold my iphone perfectly. This is my 4 pair (different colors), and the ones from years ago still look new. Another plus is the drawstring on the pant legs that allows me to tighten them and then push them up to my knees making them more like shorts. You won't be disappointed with theses gems!

I really like these pants. The waist band is so comfortable. I'm 5'2" and weight 120. I usually order a medium in pants because I have athletic thighs and I do not like tight pants. The small fits perfect. Not tight in the thighs.

I have these capris in two colors. They are comfortable and light, I wear them to work and at play ! The only downfall I'd say is that they have started to pill in multiple spots. Otherwise they'd get the 5 stars.

I was looking for a replacement to the Lucy brand which Northface acquired. The style is not the same. I dearly miss the items I have from the Lucy brand. This didn't fulfill that need.

I thought the cinched cuffs would be looser (I do NOT have thick calves/legs!) or adjustable, but they were tight on my legs and looked ridiculous after I moved at all and they poofed out above the cuffs. If you have muscular legs, I would avoid these.

At first I loved them but after a few wears the material started to look worn and pilly. The pilling is also in areas that would rarely see pilling. I loved them so much at the store I bought two of them. How do you get pilling on the outside of your leg after a few wears? I was very disappointed in the quality of these pants because the fit was so good. I never put them in the dryer and washed on gentle and now I can't wear them.

These pants run true to size. I wear a size four in pants and a small fits me great. These pants are super cute and very comfy. Why one star? I’ve worn one pair of these in a harness on a ropes course with zip lining and they pilled up like crazy. I wore that same pair hiking twice and they pilled where my backpack rubbed on a short five-mile hike. I wore a different pair hiking another day and they picked up where plants were growing close to the trail. These would be great pants for lounging or running errands, but I can’t recommend them for what they are designed for.

I bought these for casual wear. I loved how they fit and they are very comfortable. However, after wearing them 1x (and not even to do anything active--just to hang out with family), there are 4 or 5 little pulls in the fabric, like what you might expect from a sweater that has gotten snagged on something. These are way too expensive for that to happen, not to mention that they are supposedly DESIGNED to be active in. Disappointed.

This isn't even my first pair--my third, in fact. These are light weight but warm and cool enuf for a multitude of temperatures. Since I'm short, capris almost are full length for me, which is fine. And enuf pockets, including a zip one, for me to stash whatever I need. Now that I have my basic black AND my sky blue, am looking forward to add another color to my wardrobe. Love these.
