I'm 190cm (6ft 3) tall and a sturdy benchpressing 105kg (230lbs). According to the sizing chart, I'm *exactly* an XL for chest (most important fit for a shirt), an L for arm length and between L and XL for waist. I do frequent the gym and lift quite substantial weights, but like most 40+ men I have some belly as well
I'm too wide over the chest to fit in large, but armlength and hemlength of the XL is a bit too long. This isn't really the case with outer layers (I also have Cerium LT and Proton LT, both in XL), or at least not as noticeable, but on this shirt it really shows. I think the problem is that Arc'teryx ups measurements as if XL was proportionately larger than L in every dimension, when the more common case is that arms and height is roughly the same, shoulder width is a few cm larger and chest circumference is quite drastically larger.
Because the shoulder width doesn't increase as drastically as the chest circumference when one bulks up (and height obviously doesn't change at all), the shirt shoulders end up a tiny bit wide and the arms and hem end up a little too long, or one has to size down and risk unsnapping the buttons when moving. For reference the space between the top two buttons only slightly "bend apart" but without any real pressure when I put my hands behind my back. This is the test I normally use to make sure a shirt has enough chest room for me not to lose buttons when I sit down and pull my chair in.
There are more guys between 185 and 195cm that have the same bodyshape as me than there are guys 2m tall and slim-ish, so I would really like to see arc'teryx change how they do proportions when sizing up.
As a sidenote, I think people with wide chest and shoulders would prefer a shirt that's a teensy bit tight (within reason, ofcourse) than one that hangs a little too loose.

These shirts are nearly perfect. A few details would bring these puppies to 5 stars.
1. Can we get gun metal / black color snaps? The silver feels really generic. On the darker colors the silver snaps are a bit off putting. With the "24" rivet in black, perhaps a DTM finish on the snaps would bring it full circle.
2. When using laundry pods the polyester picks up on the soap / residue left behind if it's not 100% liquid. This is a bummer and results in a double wash or having to hand wash those areas.
3. Can we get a Nylon blend version? While the shirt is light weight, the Polyester gets funky and warm in hotter climates.
4. Flawless fit - Never change it!!!!

The only drawback for this shirt (which can be worn casually with blue jeans or in a business casual environment with dress slacks) is that if you want to carry a pen in the breast pocket it will not close. Other than that it is my favorite shirt and I bought three of them.

This was my first Arcteryx shirt. It beats all other brands I've found in quality, style, fit, and feel. I love the snaps instead of buttons. It is extremely easy care. Comes out looking new every wash.

I have several short sleeve versions and decided to try a long sleeve. The shirt doesn't taper as much from chest to waist as I'd like, but I knew that going in, as the torso fit is very similar to the short sleeve version. The only oddity I found was the sleeve length. I wear a 34 / 35 sleeve dress shirt and in size medium, these sleeves are still an inch too long. I don't wash my Arc'Teryx shirts often (one of the reasons I love them) so can't comment on the pilling others have mentioned.

I would give it 5 stars but for the fragility of the fabric that pills quite easily over time. I have 3 of these shirts that I wear all the time. All are pilling. Great nice looking and performing shirt except for this fault. It occurs especially at the collar and anywhere where there is any abraision. If they could fix this it would be the perfect shirt.

This had the buttery soft, super-lightweight, gorgeously dyed fabric I was expecting, but not quite the fit I was hoping for.
Arc'teryx describes this as "Trim Fit" but don't think "trim fit" as in dress shirts. The photo of the empty shirt makes it look like it comes in quite a bit at the waist, like a trim fit dress shirt often will, and the trim fit size guide lists a 7 inch chest to waist drop. In reality the shot of the model wearing a white one is more accurate - it's almost a straight drop (at least in a Large).
Also, if you are looking at the trim fit size guide and thinking you need to go up from your usual Arc'teryx size, don't. I'm reliably a Large in Arc'teryx gear, but I almost went XL for this shirt since the Trim Fit size guide says 43" chest, mine is 45", and I didn't want stretch lines across the front. It turns out the large fits fine in the chest, in fact, the shoulder seam falls about 1inch too far out on either side, where I usually have the reverse problem.
There's just nothing else around like this shirt, so instead of a return, I took it to a tailor to fix the shoulder and bring the waist way in. So despite not liking the default fit, I suspect I'll be living in this shirt whenever I travel and probably for nights out too.

The shirt fits and feels wonderful. Incredibly soft and a bit of stretch. I'm 5'9" 135lbs and the extra small is perfect. I think In today's market the XS is what the small used to be due to the ever enlarging population. That said I don't see a major difference in the trim fit and regular. Body is slightly trimmer but shoulders exactly the same which should be trimmer as well. Overall, it's a great piece. I'd prefer a shirt tail hem rather than straight but to each their own. Those are the reasons of a 4 instead of 5 but still great.

This shirt is incredibly comfortable. The material breathes well and dries quickly. It is Almost the perfect shirt for daily where in any setting. The ONE GLARING design flaw is that zippered pocket. It's odd. I don't know that a pocket serves any realistic purpose anyhow, and WHY add a zipper? In my opinion, Lose the pocket entirely and let the design be free. An Athletic cut would also be nice, since this material is perfect for it.

I own several earlier incarnations of this shirt. The fabric is suberb. It's too bad that this version is marred by a zipper. I did buy one of these, and wear it at home and on the trail, but not to the office or out to dinner, as I was able to with the earlier versions.

Previous version Was a great all around shirt for travel, office, and leisure. Even Worked under a lite sport coat. The zipper cheapens the image and reduces the range of use.

I was a big fan of this product.
But: why is there now a zipper on the breast pocket? I can't use it as a business shirt anymore.
I hope they change that again back to the way it was.
Best wishes

The quality and design is typical Arc'teryx, best in class. You'll look good and feel good in this shirt.
Arc'teryx sizing is usually pretty consistent but this one was a miss for me. I am size M with Arc'teryx products but this one is too long in the arms and too wide around the stomach.

I thought the Pegasus color shirt was an off white from the website, but it's actually a light blue. I wear a size XL in Arc'teryx tops but the XL for this shirt is huge! The seam on the shoulders go way past mine. Also, it took about three washes in the recommended water to get the wrinkles out from the packaging, and make sure you don't dry it flat or you will get wrinkles that won't come out without a steaming or an ironing.

Love the short sleeve version, but the same size in long sleeve is considerably fuller. Also wish the sleeves were about a inch shorter

Feel of the fabric is great and the fit is good. I would have liked that the collar was bit smaller in fit. Now if I'd like to keep the top button open it looks bit weird in my opinion. For the casual look still quite fine :)

Love this shirt, have two of them. I really hate having a zipper in the front. It's not function and not professional looking. Zippers cheapen the shirt. Also, I'm glad this is a snap shirt, but the snaps have gotten caught in my washing machine for both shirts. Something about these shirts and the material make them ripe for being destroyed by even tumble washing machines.
My advice to the team: lose the zippers and improve the snaps or material so they don't get eaten by washing machines.
