Perfect weight jacket for mild winter temperatures. Excellent wind protection, style and detail that I have come to expect from Arc'teryx products. I also appreciate the not so noticeable logo on sleeve. I'm 6' and weight 170lbs. Medium fit-perfect.

My navy Solano is my first Arcteryx piece, and I'm very pleased with it. I needed a new lightweight waterproof shell jacket with hood, and the Solano is perhaps the best I've had yet. It combines lightness & thinness with surprising comfort, warmth & water resistance, has 3 zipped pockets & snug fitting cuffs, and although well fitted I can still wear a thin jacket or fleece underneath. And the subdued styling and lack of visible logos is right up my street. And it packs down to virtually nothing. Brilliant!

I am thoroughly impressed with the Arc'teryx Solano Men's Black Jacket! The GORE-TEX INFINIUM fabric is very windproof and resistant to rain, making this jacket perfect for those unpredictable city weather days. The brushed polyester lining is also very comfortable and helps to wick moisture away from the body, keeping me cool and dry. The relaxed fit is extremely comfortable and allows for a great range of motion, perfect for those who like to be active in their city environment. And last but not least, the reflective elements on the jacket help to improve visibility when walking or riding in low-light conditions. Overall, I would highly recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a stylish, windproof, and water-resistant option for their daily commuting needs!

I was worried about the pockets being too small from the reviews of the previous revision but in the latest revision they seem to be fine. I really like the outer material. It has kind of a soft touch and feels slightly rubberized. Along with the relatively clean styling it makes the jacket look a bit dressy and it blocks the wind well. The light fleece lining on the body makes this comfortable for me down to about 12C. Below that I might throw on something like a Kyanite.

This is a nice causal jacket. I have worn it in 50 degree weather with a long sleeve shirt and it was quite comfortable. I used it for light hiking a couple of times in 50-60 degree weather and found that it wasn't all that breathable. However, my general experience with Gore Tex is that in mild weather it usually feels clammy. I'm 5'8"" and 170 lbs and I bought the large. It fits a little loose, which I like. If you are my size and like a slimmer fit, go with the medium. Overall I like this jacket and I would buy it again.

Stylish jacket. Perfect for cooler days in spring and fall. Love the minimalist branding with just the Arcteryx logo on the arm.

I bought this jacket over the Summer and have worn it on cool evenings and as my daily jacket since through the Fall. The fit is great (perhaps a bit short if I was to complain about one thing), and the jacket is stylish & comfortable for casual use.

Just bought this jacket and loving it so much.
Great for casual and as well of carrying to work.
Totally weather protected. Could use it as stand alone jacket or mid layer. This is something I have been looking for years while many others in the market do not fulfill my needs.

I've wanted this for a long time, so I finally bought it. Living in Calgary, it's dry and can get pretty windy. The Solano is my three season commuting shell. I wear a medium in pretty much all my arcteryx pieces, it gives me some room to layer something underneath. I am 5'9" 160lbs.

This jacket is replacing a jacket I bought 10 years ago that I have completely worn out. This is very light weight but still has warmth for those cooler nights in the convertible. I don't know how they build this thing but it does not hinder any arm movements.

Love the jacket, also have a Atom vest which adds another layer if needed. Good quality that looks great. Hope to purchase more items soon. Thanks!

Great coat for 50-65 degrees F. Took on an international trip. Got caught in rain and cooler temps. Really like the microfiber liner on the inside of the coat. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

Great jacket I wear pretty much every day. Lightweight and provides warmth on cooler fall days.
Just read the sizing to make sure you buy the right size. I am usually a large with most outerwear but the medium was a better fit for me.

Spent about the month of October in Europe....perfect jacket for touring, biking, light hiking and even dinner out! My husband has stated several times how perfect this jacket has been for this trip.

Picked up this coat in May and have used it primarily on windy or chilly days. I've tested it for a little while and found it best for Spring and Fall weather. I was surprised by the warmth of the jacket, wearing it anywhere between 5 to 15 degrees Celsius outside. Wind resistant and surprisingly water resistant as well. I would still opt for a hardshell in a more intense downpour. I'll try out the jacket with a thin mid-layer and update the review once the colder weather hits.
The fit is quite nice on the torso, however the arms are somewhat baggy. I've layered the jacket with hoodies and cardigans with no issue, it excels in any casual to business casual setting. I primary commute to work and school, and the coat can easily be stowed when no longer needed. A terrific multifunctional piece for city use in a variety of different scenarios.

The Solano lives up to its billing as a jacket designed for bike commuting and urban travel. It's sleek and well-proportioned with surprising ability to accommodate layers underneath. The interior fabric is similar to the fleece material used in the Gamma MX, but slightly thinner, and combined with the Gore Tex INFINIUM shell makes for a remarkably light and windproof jacket (I've yet to test its water resistance but I'm told the jacket performs somewhat like the Norvan).
I appreciate the minimalist design and subtle branding of the Arc'teryx bird fossil logo on the sleeve. I like that I can wear the Solano around town or get on the bike and ride in cold weather without having to change into my 'Michelin Man' bike gear. This is a terrific jacket and a real bargain; if you're on the fence consider the Solano.
