Becoming a big fan of minimal footwear after years of foot problems. Alas, these boots run very small (I usually wear a EU38, I sized up to 39 and still too small.) Toe box is nice and wide but very shallow. If you have hammertoes (toes that curl), you will feel it. I also felt the heel was too wide, I could feel my heel go up and down to cause eventual blisters. Vivobarefoot has perfected their sneaker lines but their entry into hiking boots need more thought.

very nice looking boot, but it is not very comfortable, shallow and narrow toe box,
not enough cushioning. I did so want them to work, they are so stylish.

These are AMAZING boots with wonderful comfort and a great overall style. For me however they are a bit to supportive and padded and I just don't need all of that at this point. If you are looking for a great minimalist but substantially padded boot then these are for you.

Best shoes I have ever owned. Only problem is that they were $140 2 years ago, and they are over $100 more now. I don't need to replace them yet - but when I find something this perfect, I do want to hold on to a backup for some day, I'm assuming way in the future, when I have beat these poor things up to the point of retirement.
I do so much hiking and working in these and I can't believe how sturdy they are, given how comfortable they are also. Sometimes I'm doing outdoor chores before work and end up bringing in sneakers to the office with me to change in to, but I don't even bother because these boots are not the usual heavy/hot/stiff boots and I can wear them all day. Haha the only problem with that is they can hold an insane of mud :-) (but yes, great traction)
I found these comfortable right out of the box, but they did get even better as I wore them a lot and softened them up. For hiking boots, they are cute. But they are still hiking boots. The waterproofing is awesome.
I pulled out the insole to keep them even lighter/flexible. It's so nice having a good boot that you can feel and move your feet in. Love love love these boots. Will buy a backup pair someday!

Very happy to find these! If I could, I'd never wear shoes, and I often hike in summer barefoot. However, can't do that in winter in Flagstaff. Also, I'm a teacher, on my feet for 6 plus hours a day on concrete floor. I was hoping that these would have some cushioning while still being foot-shaped and heel-free, and they do/are! Yes, I will wear these to work, even with a skirt.
Regarding arch support: I love that I can't feel the shoe arch at all. I have a very high arch and instep and very strong feet because of going barefoot, so I prefer no arch support. I like my feet to do their own thing.
Also, I appreciate the cut at back of shoe, allowing for full range of ankle. At school we do quite a bit of movement and floor work, and I can sit on my heels with my feet back in these boots.

I am a barefoot walker whenever possible and always have been, and I run barefoot on a treadmill, so I was prepared to love these boots. I generally wear a European size 42, and tried both the 42 and the 43. Unfortunately the 42 was too small and the 43 too large; even with thick socks my heel slipped out and I had a good inch of extra length in the toe which made me worry about tripping. A couple of other things I didn't like: the thickly padded tongue sticks out no matter how you lace the boot; and - most importantly - the footbed doesn't really allow a natural heel strike at the walk. I think the heel is a little low relative to the ball of the foot, kind of like the old Earth shoes. That caused me some knee pain almost as soon as I started walking in them. Admittedly, my knee is funky, but I don't generally have pain like that. As soon as I took them off and walked barefoot, the pain was gone. I put on another pair of level-soled shoes immediately after, and my knee didn't hurt. I put these back on and the knee pain was back. That didn't bode well for long hikes! But, that said: great traction, very lightweight, well made, and nice looking boots, but some issues! Also, the price is very, very high for what they are. I'll keep looking for the right hiking boots; I very much appreciate Zappos excellent customer service and the amazing selection they offer!

Shoe is flat inside--no arch supports--hooray! Unfortunately, presses on left toe, even though toe box is wide. Looking more closely, I see that the left toe has a different shape than the right--left shoe seems defective.

I was worried ordering these shoes based off the sizing reviews. I typically am a 7 in womens shoes, so I normally size up to a 7.5 in hiking shoes to allow for foot slippage when going downhill. I ordered a 7.5 in the Tracker FG and they fit perfectly. I have a naturally wide foot and these were just the right width. They are leather as well so there's a little room for the shoe to mold to my foot with wear. The top of the boot is a little overpadded in my opinion but I can just tie the laces tight and it doesn't stick out too much. I took these on a 4-mile hike in rocky terrain and they performed really well. I definitely could feel the ground but it wasn't too much. The lugs are nice & grippy and I never felt like I was going to slip. It was in the mid 40s (Farenheit) and the thermal insole was a bit too warm for my taste. Luckily they can be removed! Overall these seem like great boots. I have yet to see about their durability but after closely inspecting them, as long as you're not super harsh on your shoes they seem like they'll last a while!

I have been searching for a minimalist hiking boot and finally found it! This is (hands down) the best hiking boot I’ve ever had! You have to know and understand minimal footwear to understand this shoe but if you do and it’s your thing you will love this boot. Haven’t taken it to wet conditions yet but I am certain it will perform well. If you are on the fence about this boot I say get it!

I was hesitant to buy these because of the review saying they ran small. I risked it anyway and I actually love them. They are comfortable for me, but I can see how they would not be for someone who needs more arch support. They seem pretty durable. So far so good.

These are a great option barefoot for hiking over difficult/wet terrain. I like them, but being used to the softer feel and barefoot sole of moccasins, I have to say that these are a bit stiffer than I'd like. Totally worth it for the ankle support, protection in sharp rocky terrain, and waterproofing. If nothing else, the waterproofing makes them a win because I can now hike in the spring without cold wet feet! I got the black and IMO they're a lot better looking than most hiking boots. The only cons are that they can get kind of hot in the summer sun, and show dirt and mud pretty quickly but they're easy to rinse off. I've had them a year now and they're still going strong!

Felt large and clunky for something that is supposed to feel “barefoot”

These shoes are well made, very flexible, and look nice. I dance and am used to barefoot or no arch support and needed some flexible shoes for hiking. The width was fine, but the problem with these is, I am normally a 36 or 37 (6.5 or 7), but the 37 was way too big; the toe box hit the top of my foot on the 36.The 35 was way too small. I had to send them back. 5 stars because of sizing.

I bought these boots for a trip to Machu Picchu. I didn't want to spend money on typical looking hiking boots because I wanted to use them more and I generally don't like the look of hiking boots. These were nice looking and could be worn in everyday situations but unfortunately they were too small. My size is an 8 or 8.5. I ordered an 8.5 which was uncomfortably short. Too bad because I liked the boots.

These are incredibly comfortable boots. They are light and flexible, fitting in with the minimalistic support movement. I could wear them all day!

I'm new to minimalist footwear, and my feet are thankful and responding to it! I love these boots. I can wear my Correct Toes (toe separator orothotic) in them, which was the main reason for searching out a fall & spring boot for hiking and walking the dog. I ordered both the 9 & 10, and kept the 10. At first they felt alittle long, but after wearing them awhile and having them conform to feet, the length is just right. They have been waterproof so far, in sustained very dewy conditions in high grass the leather became a bit saturated so I have applied Pecard leather dressing and now water just beads up and runs off. Hope they last a very long time. Seriously thinking about getting them in brown also. When you find something that works, buy 2 before they're gone!

These shoes were just what I expected, well-made, comfortable and I think quite stylish. Unfortunately, for me they were too short. I normally take a women's 12 because of foot surgery but these boots stopped at 11. I thought I would try them but my toes touched the front. So disappointing, but I will be trying a men's size to see how it will do. I really want a pair of these boots after feeling how comfortable they will be.

I returned these because 1)they were hard to get into and 2) were too wide and big for me. I got a 39 and wear an American size 8. True, my foot is narrow and the toe box on this show is super wide on me. I don't know really why they don't fit better. It seems like it could be a great shoe. Will try another style

I have a pair of the Vivobarefoot Chucka boot which has a moccasin feel. I wear them morning to night and hoped this boot would be a warmer, firmer boot for winter walks on trails and sand. This boot is much stiffer, which I expected, but the length is short and uncomfortable. There is a very firm ridge inside the toe box which meant there would be no stretching these out. I liked the look of them and wanted them to work but not enough to try them in a larger size. They seemed too stiff for anything but hiking and probably would hard to break in.

I bought a set of Tracker FGs and the soles started ripping off didn't even last 8 months. company doesn't stand behind they're product. That's $240 down the drain. Not warm in the winter, lost theyre waterproofing in less than a month, laces were junk had to replace. at the point of this review theyre 10 months old and i cant wear them because theyre falling apart. Vivo wont replace them because its past theyre lame 100 day garuntee.
I'd also recommend:
