This suitcase, while pricey is completely worth it with Briggs & Riley's lifetime warranty. As an owner of 2 other pieces of luggage from the company (carry-on circa 1995 and rolling overnighter from 2004), the pieces have held up to frequent travel and checked baggage abuse. Both my existing 2 bags were repaired in 2017 for minor repairs (Zipper and handle sticking and small tear). I dropped them off at an authorized repair center and they were repaired free of charge! This suitcase is just as sturdy as my previous 2 bags. The hard shell is robust and the bag has a great compacting feature. The only thing to note is the compacting feature works best with soft clothes so pack any hard items on the bottom of the suitcase where they won't be subject to the compacting. Inside the bag is well organized with plenty of space. I have used the bag mainly for domestic travel over the past year and it has held up well as both a carry-on and checked bag. Note: if the bag is expanded and not compacted, it technically is slightly too thick for a domestic carry-on. I have never been stopped as it is only an inch or two thicker. PS: The suitcase comes with a dust bag during storage.

I have Briggs and Riley Baseline luggage (which is great) but decided to give the hard shell Sympatico a try. Love the styling and color plus plenty of room and light weight. But be aware there are no exterior pockets. Hope that it preforms as well as the Baseline over time...so far so good. And love the way the zippers pop open by sliding a button.

Love the great quality of this carry-on, also bought the 26" medium expandable case. They're roomy & perfect in size for me when traveling solo and the red is gorgeous & easy to spot on the carousel when checked not carried. Thank you to Zappo's for supersonic shipping , thrilled to get my bags in time for an emergency trip. And thanks to the UPS delivery guy's humor, upon delivery said my Zappo's box must be one huge pair of shoes! :)
