I have had two pairs of Avalons and I think they've just updated the style. It looks mostly the same look, but I miss the old version (and color options). I read another review that the back of the shoe now comes up higher on the ankle. This was the case for me as well and it would probably cause a blister if I kept them. Also, the inside is itchy. There is no longer soft fabric with a fun pattern. Finally, there is less cushion than before. So sad because these used to be my favorite shoes.

Just order a half size smaller that you would normally order, and you will have a perfect fit! This are comfortable and wear well (this is my third pair of this style).

This would have been my 3rd pair of Toms Avalon shoes. I love the comfort and style of the Avalon's, but this particular version did not fit well. I ordered the gold color. The material was stiff, which might soften over time but the deal breaker is that the dimensions have changed. The sides of the shoe are higher and the stiff cloth rubs my ankle bone, on both sides. When I compared this new pair to my previous pair, these new ones were about 1/3 of an inch higher. My previous pair did not rub or touch my ankle. The inner footbed of the new shoe also has less cushioning, which was surprising. My old pair is at least 1 year old and worn almost daily, yet had more cushioning left than the brand new pair. I'm disappointed that I'm going to have to return this pair. I love the ease of taking Avalons on/off and that they go with almost any outfit but I can't wear this new version comfortably.

I have these in 3 colors and love them! I am a hairdresser and can wear these all day and my feet do not ache. I can walk around all day in these and my feet feel great.

I really wanted to love these, and I do love the look, but they rubbed the skin off on my heel after just 30 minutes of wear. The material is too stiff and scratchy. I don't think it's something that'll break in.

Absolutely love these toms. Order size 9 instead of my regular size 8.5 because my feet are wide. So glad I did, the fit perfectly and super comfy.

I wasn’t sure about buying these because I don’t always love the way Toms look but these are fantastic! The color of the fabric is more of a silvery-grey and has a nice weight to it. These are more comfortable than I expected, but I’m sure will become even better over time as the stiffness goes away. The only downside so far is that they’re very slippery and have pretty bad traction. I read that wearing them on rough surfaces to wear the tread a little bit should help, so we’ll see! Overall I love them!

A usual true 8.5 had to return for the 8 but now fits perfect, so comfortable with perfect amount of arch support! A great slip on shoe for a casual Friday and running errands. The black is almost washed out to look a tad grey. Goes with anything.

A great shoe! Why? Easy on and off. They go with just about any outfit. Great for the beach, walking your dog, or just stepping outside for a minute. They are made very well and hold up for an everyday shoe!

These shoes are SO comfortable. The sole is really squishy and soft and the canvas is really soft (but structured enough that it doesn't feel cheap). The only complaint is that sometimes my feet get sort of hot in them, but it's summer so that's pretty normal for any shoes that aren't sandals. I will probably buy them in other colors too. I wear them as "commuters" on my way to work, and it's so much better than flip flops or ballet flats. I might add insoles or arch supports, but that's mainly because I like a little extra support. Overall I love them!

These are super comfortable! I wear size 8 but returned it and ordered half a size down which fit much better. They stretch a little. The only draw back is the material is a bit light in color, so stains show up fairly easily. On the flip side, I would prefer a white sidewall (correct terminology?) instead of off-white. They are so comfortable that I would definitely buy them again.

My first pair of Toms. Followed other reviewers' and Toms' recommendation to order a half size down (I wear 7 in most shoes, and ordered 6.5). The 6.5's were pretty tight - I considered returning for the 7's - but after wearing them out for half a day, they stretched and now fit very comfortably (with enough room for a small, no-show sock). Very cute shoes, and the cushioned sole is comfy.

Super comfortable with a bit more support & structure than the original Toms. I am generally between a 7.5-8 and ordered an 8 in this shoe. It fits on the larger side, but 7.5 likely would have been too small, so I'm happy with it!

These are like walking on pillows! I wanted something comfortable and cute for this chic mom, and I'm ALL about the color. I got it in the blush color and love it. It runs a bit wider which works for me since i have a wide ball of the foot and narrow heel, but if you have a narrow foot it might look more like a boat shoe. And the best part is my feet don't sweat in them. Nothing more annoying that having sweaty and stinky feet. Took no time to break-in. The edge of the shoe did slightly rub right under my ankle bone, but I put some moleskin on it and it was fine. For the price and look, that was an easy overlook for me.

I wear 8.5 in classic toms and 8.5 in these fits perfectly. They're a tiny bit wider in the toe box, which I like because it takes classic toms a while to stretch out enough to be comfy there, but still snug so I think they will fit fine once the stretch. They are a little rough at the heel- it hasn't bothered me yet, but I can why some people need to put moleskin or a pad in.

I needed a pair of sneakers to wear on trip that involved a lot of walking, these fit the bill. You can wear them with shorts, jeans and even dresses. They don’t have that clunky feeling regular sneakers have. They fit just fine, not too tight and not too loose.I didn’t have to break them in, I even wore those little no show socks and it didn’t feel too tight. I like my shoes to have a little room because my feet tend to swell sometimes. These have become my go to shoes for everyday errands.

This pair of Toms Avalon was a bit stiffer than previous pairs, so I broke them in by wearing them for several times for gradually longer periods. Afterwards, they no longer rubbed against my ankles and I could wear them with socks with no discomfort. I wore them to a football game where we had to do a lot of walking and climbing and even after 7 hours my feet felt fine. I wish the grey was a bit darker as stains will show, but overall I am pleased with this purchase and plan to pack these lightweight shoes on an overseas trip.

After reading the reviews, I decided to order 1/2 size down. I am a 8.5-9 usually. I ordered 8.5, and they were just too snug! Even without a sock. I read that they stretch quite a bit. I wore them around the house hoping to see any sign of them stretching. I now have blisters on the back of both my feet and the shoes are going back. I will wait for 9 to be back in stock cause I definitely love the style! It’s hard picking a size of the internet. Love Zappos for super fast and free shipping both ways!

I love the fabric of these shoes. The color that I ordered was beautiful, however there was very little arch support. Comfort is more important than appearance at some point, so I returned them and purchased a pair of Clarks instead.

Like most Toms they need a day or two of breaking in. I have wide feet and high arches so they felt snug the first day and my feet hurt a little. But after the second day, they felt fine. I have tendonitis in my left foot and can’t wear flats anymore (like the original Toms) so these are a good compromise. I thought they were cute and sporty, but not as cute as other brands who make similar styles. No one commented on them - even my Mom, who always says something about my shoes!

Love the style. Toe box is good size. Overall fits well. But the material is rough and rubs on the top of my foot, even breaking the skin. I have to wear band-aids on the top of my feet when I wear these. Have worn them only twice so not sure whether they'll break in.

I really loved these shoes...online. Unfortunately when they arrived they were MUCH more metallic than were pictured on the website and the heel hit at a high point I was sure would give me blisters. Too bad for me...they are just not the comfy, neutral, wear with everything shoes I was hoping for. :(

This is my second paid of the exact same shoes. The first pair was perfect and comfortable. This pair hits higher on the heel and sides and is not comfortable at all. Have to return.

I normally wear a size 7 and I should have listened to the Tom's website which recommended that I follow my athletic shoe size (which is 8.5). Since that's my only experience with a size differential that great, and Zappos recommendations have been spot on before, I ordered a 7. Could not even get it over my foot, so for sure it's at least a full size small. Not sure of arch support or comfort as I couldn't get this tiny shoe over my foot. Will go up a size and a half as the brand suggested.

Wanted to love these, but the material is so stiff that it rubbed on my ankle/heal with each step. Otherwise, they fit nicely, looked great, and were comfortable. They need to add some sort of finishing edge on the heal or lower the height of the back.
