1. I’m a true 8 1/5 but a size 8 was perfect there’s still room to wear a thick sock. 2. The colors are better in person look at their website for better photos 3. They are not as bulky as they may look. I’m 145 lbs and they fit my ankles a little loose which I love for thick socks 4. The shoe soles are comfy and a little spongy which I love Overall great product! Water proof 100%

I love Ariat boots. Have had a pair for over 20 years and they still look great. These Wexford's are beautiful and I was jazzed that they are waterproof but found the top hitting at an awkward spot of my leg. I wish they lowered the top of the boot by an inch and a half or 2. Found it uncomfortable to walk in and sadly am returning them.

I usually wear leather sole cowboy boots for horse riding, and my favorite Frye Carson Short boots bit the dust and seem to be discontinued. I wanted to stay with a short boot because of the heat here in AZ, so I'm taking a shot at these because they are waterproof (prob. hot) and hoping won't get so trashed at the stables. I've never really ridden with rubber bottom shoes, so we'll see. I know this is not probably what people are interested in these boots for, but that's my story. Sizing: I am an 8.5 and tried both 8.5 and 8 at the same time around the house for a few days. I kept the 8s. It's tough bc I feel the toe box is a little snug...but the 8.5s had a lot of 'play' and felt clunky as I walked around. I would recommend trying 2 sizes just in case. I have another pair of Ariat waterproof boots, and felt they 8.5 was a little big, but it was going to cost too much to try the 8s with shipping etc. so I kept the 8.5.... and always wonder.
I'd also recommend:

These are my go-to boots for this rainy California winters. I got the Cordovan color, and its dressy enough for work buy still at home working in the garden and running errands. Perfectly waterproof, comfortable, well made, and I love how they look! True to size length-wise but run a little bit wide. Wearing thick socks solves it for me.

Another great pair of Ariat boots. The cordovan looks even better in person. The boots are very comfortable with minimal break in time. Nice boots to pair with skinny jeans, skirts or what have you.

LOVE THESE BOOTS! I walk 5-6 miles per day just in my normal daily routine and needed something other than athletic shoes to go with casual office attire. These boots required NO break-in period and have given me NO rubs or blisters, even though I have tiny ankles and narrow heels, and they do slip as I walk. Wool socks work better than cotton. I read other reviews first and agree that the fit isn't right for all, and these were tight across the top of my foot for a few days, but then they seemed to mold to my feet perfectly, and they are now so comfortable that I often keep them on even for my exercise walking. Last week, we had 8" of snow which quickly turned to mud and slush, and these boots were entirely warm and waterproof through every mile of my walks to work and back. I chose Ariat because I ride horses and have 5 pairs of Ariat barn/riding boots in various stages of wear, and they are the most comfortable footwear I own. I don't get rid of them til they fall completely apart, and that takes many year. I would order more of these now if I could afford them, but sadly, I'll have to wait for a sale!

I purchased these several months ago and wanted to wait to write my review until I'd worn them for awhile. They fit great right out of the box but did require some wear in time as I'd expected. I wore them out hiking a few times and I'm happy with how quickly they became sort of shaped to my foot. They are my favorite shoe to wear in the cooler months when we get some rain and snow as they are waterproof and help keep my feet warm. I'm very happy with my purchase and this was my first Ariat purchase for myself.

I've worn these boots exclusively for the past few years -- I am a veterinary student and a horse and dog person, so they get put through the ringer. They're very comfortable, and I feel safe working in them. Definitely the only boot I'll buy between comfort, durability, and actually living up to being waterproof. After 3.5 years I finally needed to buy a second pair, but my first pair still gets worn sometimes

Wow. I've never been so impressed with a pair of boots that instantly broke in. These boots are classy enough for city people but still waterproof and built for the outdoors. Although, you won't want to because they are so pretty. They are the perfect Seattle boots. PS. They are 1/2 size larger. I wear a 7.5 and bought a 7.0 I wore them all weekend. Must have walked at least 10 miles in them. I also managed to ding them up pretty good over some rocks... I'd recommend wearing good socks that have their own moisture-wicking system because these boots are waterproof, meaning, they won't breath. I purchased the Blundstone BL566 (regular width) as a comparison. The Blundstone boots were very hard and started to scrape my heel. While I'm sure these boots are also well-made, they just didn't even look in the same ballpark as the Ariats. I'm considering buying a few more pairs and just storing them for a few years in case anything about the manufacturing process changes from this point forward. These are awesome boots!

Not exactly the headline you thought you'd be seeing for a review, but here it is. I work in dog rescue so visiting the shelters, chasing dogs around and dog poop are all a part of daily life. Try as one might, you WILL step in dog poop. Poop happens. But with these boots it washes right off with a hose like it wasn't even there to begin with! No wet socks, and it's like it never even happened. Best part is they're super comfortable. Unlike other boots I've had, there is no breaking in period. These were comfy from the minute I put them on. Bonus? They're cute. Style them with a dress or jeans and the compliments just keep coming. And no one but you and the dogs know that minutes prior they were covered in poop. Love them so much that I got two different colors! Dog and human approved!

I really REALLY love these boots. I ordered an 8.5. Initially they felt snug along the tops of my feet but putting in slightly thicker socks completely alleviated the discomfort and now they are 100% molded to my feet and amazing. I will say I am typically in a size 9 since having my son (yay preggo feet) but the 8.5 are perfect. Even when they initially felt snug on the tops of my feet, my toes had the perfect amount of space and there was no slipping of the heel. The next size up would have been too big. These are perfect for crazy Colorado weather. Warm enough for light snow, waterproof for wet days, and durable that I could hike in them if I wanted.

I bought these boots 1 year ago and would NOT recommend. 7 months in to wearing the boots the outer leather began to peel away from the sole until the main pad of the sole peeled off the bottom making them unwearable. I therefore only had 8 months use out of these boots as I had owned them for a while before beginning to wear them. I sent them back to the retailer where I purchased them and they would not exchange or refund due to be being just out of my 1 years warranty. Not happy at all.

I bought these in October and right out of the the box they felt very comfortable. I bought a size 9 and have room to wear thick socks. The leather was a little stiff at the top of my ankle, but that loosened up after a few days. I’ve worn them almost daily since and love this boot! I’m currently on a trip to Norway and this boot is perfect for walking in the slushy snow and puddles. My feet have stayed warm, dry and comfortable all day.

I saved my review for after a few days of wearing them so I could tell y'all the real deal and man, I am so in love with these boots. They fit so comfortably and look and feel great for every day wear, outdoor chores, riding, dressing up, etc. I ordered the "weathered brown" color so you can see what they look like in the picture. Would definitely recommend the investment, they are definitely high quality, as can be expected with Ariat. Also, I read some comments about weird sizing.. I generally wear a 9 for all shoes, so I ordered a 9 and they fit perfect so maybe ignore those comments.

I LOVE these boots. I constantly get compliments when I wear them, and the fact that they're waterproof is huge. I live in Maine and need good looking shoes that aren't so delicate that they'll be damaged in the rain, snow, ice, salt, and mud. These are the holy grail-- feel polished and put together AND know that I can go for a walk in a muddy field without messing up my shoes.

The deep brown color is gorgeous and the leather and make of these boots are clearly high quality. however they are very bulky and “rugged” looking which is not what I wanted in a Chelsea boot so I returned. if you need a basic boot for a lot of walking these are perfect. If you’re looking for a sleek/“city” style I wouldn’t recommend these. They have kind of a doc martens clunky shape.

Excellent quality! I did not have to break these boots in as they fit my foot perfectly right away. I am typically a size 6 and a tennis shoe and in a 6B in a cowboy boot and I ordered a size 6 in this boot. I will say, I am only used to wearing cowboy boots so it is taking some getting used to having this paddock boot be more fitted around my ankle. That is the only reason I took one star away as I notice this snugness. That said, I never received any blisters or rub marks due to these boot being more fitted it's just a preference for me that I prefer a little more room around the ankle however, I understand that paddock boots are made to fit more snug. If you regularly wear paddock boots, you probably won't even notice. The Leather is exceptional! I wore these boots when I went on an overseas trip where I was in a lot of sand and never got any sand in my boots! My feet stay at a very comfortable temperature in these boots both in hot weather and in cold weather. I hate a boot that will make your feet sweat or feel cold and these do not do either. I have ridden horses in these boots and they are quite comfortable in the stirrup I still I'm getting used to the fact that they are snug around my ankles especially when my heels are down in the stirrups. I wore these boots for 16 hours while traveling overseas and my feet never bothered me. For you ladies who are used to wearing English paddock boots, this boot will receive five stars from you. If you are not used to wearing paddock boots, know that it will take some getting used to having that snugness around your ankle.

I am usually a size 6, but a size 6 for the Wexford didn't leave room for socks so I ordered a 6.5. The 6.5 gives me enough space to wear medium to thick socks without being too long. The cordovan color is so beautiful and the boots are slim enough to be worn with dresses. The edge of the shaft rubs up against my calf, so if you have big calves that might be an issue.

I was looking for waterproof chelsea-style winter booties, and though these looked more like work boots than what I was going for. However, of all the boots I tried on, these were the most comfortable, and have a western-industrial style I like a lot more than I expected. I have wide feet, 9-9.5, and ordered the 9.5W. While I wish Ariat made wide shoes, these felt the same width or wider as the comfortiva and blondo boots that I tried in wide. The leather is very substantial, and I expect them to stand up to a lot of abuse. The sole is very heavy, and stitched with a proper stiff goodyear welt. I ordered the Java, which I expected to be brown, but is really more of a dark brown olive - there's definitely no red in this leather dye.

Oh how I love these boots! They are beautiful and wonderful and I really, really want to keep them...but I can't because I have a bunion on one foot and they are just too narrow in the toe to accommodate it. The boot might stretch over time and be wearable but I am not willing to take that chance with such an expensive item and the break in period would definitely hurt. I don't mind making an investment in a quality pair of boots and these babies are very nice quality (I have other Ariat boots that I have had for many years.) I encourage anyone looking for a rugged, waterproof, super cute, quality boot to try these. They are worth the investment. Thanks Zappos!

The Cordovan color in these are gorgeous. I really liked the sole. What I didn’t like is how voluminous it is. Even though the length and width seemed great I could feel my foot move around inside (had on regular thickness wool socks). I consider myself to have a normal width foot. Also this style of boot in general makes my feet look even bigger than normal. Not what I’m looking for.

I bought these boots specifically for a trip I was taking to England where it's rainy most of the time. I wore these boots everyday, hiking around the English countryside. They got wet, they got muddy, and when they dried they still looked beautifully brand new. The sole has great traction and never got slippery. They needed no break-in. They're absolutely fantastic boots.

I have been eyeing these boots up for quite some time and I'm so glad I finally pulled the trigger and bought them! They really are comfortable right out of the box and they look great too. I love that these I can get wet without having to worry about them being ruined too. If you think your are wise you will definitely want to order C width. In sneakers I'm normally an 8.5 in regular width and with boots I'm normally an 8 C, ordered these in an 8 C and they fit great. So happy to finally have them!
