I couldn't recommend these more. I paid full price and the price point was higher than I wanted, but this is a very high quality product that feels like it should last for many years to come. I'd compare the quality to my Dubarrys - nice thick leather with good structure and cozy lining. They are immediately comfortable and performed well (and warm) the first time in the saddle at about 25 degrees. The full lacing lets you customize the fit whether you ride in thick winter riding pants inside the boots or a winter riding snow pant worn outside the boot. You still get the ease of the back zipper once you customize your fit. Nice that they come with another set of laces and boot shapers as well. The full leather design means I can wear them through the muck when working in the stable and they easily wash off and clean up. The tongue of the boot is fully sewn in inches above the ankle line so you can wash them under the frost free without getting water in your boot, or even walk through a shallow steam. Well worth the money, but I was happy to receive a $100 gift card from Dover when I bought these. Thank you Ariat for such a wonderful product with so much quality. They are also beautiful!! Quick note - I normally wear a boot in a 9 but sized up to 9.5 and they are perfect!

I purchased these boots December 2017 and LOVE them!! I didn't like the price tag but if they last like my Ariat paddock boots (5 years) then it will be worth it. I wanted flexibility in the calf size.
I wear them to the barn, ride in them and wear them to work at times. They are warm and comfortable. They do take a little to break in but over all I am extremely happy with the product.

Love these boots. Not only beautiful, but well made comfortable, durable and great support. I am never happy with me pillow or my boots, but this pair did it. I have owned them now for 1 1/2 years, and they still look and feel great.

I've never seen these in a store, so I ordered from the website photos, and I promise, I was NOT disappointed! The leather is so soft, I can tie them once so they fit my leg perfectly and then just zip them up. They're just beautiful and of course classic Ariat supportive & comfortable ! BRING ON WINTER!

Bought these a month or so ago, and they were instantly comfortable. I have muscular calves, and buying new boots usually results in a horribly painful break in period, but these are fantastic. Especially love the lower liner and tab that protects that painful zipper from digging into the back of your Achilles tendon after dropping. Wish they made more colors - I would buy them all!!!

I love this boot better than any other that I have tried. I am 5.7 and most water proof boots are way too short for and also way too loose around the calf. This one is highly adjustable and will even fit a "slim fit" calf.
Due to it's adjust-ability it can be worn for any width calf tough. I would order another if it was available in a tan brown.

Had a very hard time finding boots that would work in both cold and wet weather that were also adjustable to my skinny calves. These fit perfect and I adore the fact that I can wear them around town with jeans or hop on my horse for either a hack out or a more serious workout. Well worth the cost and the quality is outstanding!!

I really love these boots, and they have survived three winters in Norway. Saw that someone else commented on the zipper, and I have the same problem. Planning on getting a buckle put one so that the zipper will stay in place.

I haven't had them very long, and I was worried about the zipper after reading some of the reviews, but so far they are exactly what I would expect from Ariat.

Very good fit and feel and stability when riding. I have 15" calves and they fit perfectly. Zero break in time. So far they have proven to be water proof but they are not as warm as I was hoping. In 20 degrees my toes were cold. Tried two pair of socks and that didn't work either. I'm diabetic and really need warm boots. These are almost perfect but they need more insulation. I have been using them daily for a month now.

Outstanding fit and construction. My only hesitation about giving a 5 star is the zipper. It consistently hangs up on the interior waterproof tab at the bottom 1/4th of the zipper. Once on, they are fabulous. This is a construction flaw.

I love these boots they are warm, attractive and well made. The fit is great once you get them on. I wanted to give them a 5 star review except the zipper doesn't go down far enough on the heel so to get my foot into the boot I have to undo the laces each time. I had another pair of Ariat insulated boots with laces that had a zipper placed lower on the heel and they were perfect. I would have bought another pair exactly like them except Ariat doesn't make them anymore. If you have the same issue, please write to Ariat and ask them for a change to this style so they are perfect:-)

I bought those because the laces deceptively made me think they'd fit around a size 17 inch calf. The tongue is so narrow that there is still a little skin showing through. Thank God they included laces that are not elastic so I can tighten them and break them in around the house. OR go to Tandy leather and rig up an "extension" tongue so my skin isn't punched.
The rest of the boot is great and more for riding. I didn't want to wear my chaps all the time and like another said the arch support is odd. But I plan to spend more time in the saddle than hiking.

They are very comfy and true to size. I have small calves but still couldn't zip them all the way, maybe I have them tied too tight. I wish there was a strap to hold the zipper.

Very warm, comfortable, & fashionable. It's difficult to drop my heels and keep my leg in place. I only wear them on the coldest days.

FIRST OFF I WANT TO SAY THAT THESE BOOTS ARE EVERYTHING THAT I EXPECTED WITH ONE EXCEPTION. THE COLOR OF THE BOOTS THAT I RECEIVED ARE NOT THE SAME COLOR AS IN ALL THE PICTURES. WITH THAT SAID, I LOVE THESE BOOTS. THEY COME WITH ELASTIC LACES AND A ZIPPER SO YOU DO NOT HAVE TO UNTIE THEM EVERY TIME YOU PUT THEM ON/OFF. ANOTHER AMAZING VALUE ADD THAT THESE BOOTS HAVE IS A FINGER PULL TOWARDS THE BOTTOM OF THE ZIPPER SO IT'S EASIER TO GET YOUR FOOT INTO THE BOOT. OVERALL I'M SUPER HAPPY WITH THE BOOTS AND THE COMFORT. I JUST WISH THEY WERE THE COLOR THAT WAS SHOWN IN THE PICTURE. I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM 5*'S INSTEAD OF 4*'S.

While I love the style and comfort of my Coniston pro boots, I am frustrated that the zip one on if them makes its way down when I am riding...

I just got these for Christmas and they are a good looking boot. I went riding in them for the first time today and there were pluses and minuses. I found no matter how tight I cinched the laces, I could not make them tight enough over breeches and they still gaped at the top. I wear an xs tall in Ariat 1/2 chaps and could not make these fit snuggly. The sole of the boot is also much more substantial than in my ariat paddock boots, so there is less feel of the stirrup, but I had no trouble keeping my heel down. These boots were comfortable right out of the box and I like them, but I wanted to love them.

These are stunning at the barn and out around town. They are water proof but not as warm as I was hoping. However, I may just need some thicker socks. Jumping in these can be difficult if you have trouble keeping your heel down as they can get stuck in the irons but they are great for flating. They are adjustable to calf size and feel like a field boot. That being said there was a break in period for me and definitely weren't super comfortable right out of the box but they have worn in over time. Overall, I think the boots are worth the money as I don't see them wearing out anytime soon and could definitely be worn every season.

Lovely, warm boots. Unfortunately, too narrow in the toe box, even after sizing up, and I had to return. So disappointing because my other Ariat boots (paddock, trail), fit so well and have plenty of room in the toe box. Usually I can count on Ariat to fit the same across styles but not this time. Also agree with other commenters about the zipper catching on the liner. Seems like a design flaw.

I would have rated the boots as a 5, but putting them on is very difficult for anyone with high arches and insteps. I almost returned them because I'll be unable to wear thick socks. My foot won't go into the boots with thick socks. However, I decided to keep them and wear them with thinner wool socks. Others have commented on the problem.

An outstanding boot of course, A beautiful fit for madame, who loves them. a perfect Christmas present madame said. We'd tried them on in a shop a few weeks earlier and they didn't have her size in stock. We decided they were too expensive anyway (with that Christmas present plan taking shape!) They arrived quickly well-packaged and with the strong plastic shoe horn thingies to keep them in good shape when not being worn AND a lovely canvas bag to keep them in. Practically an investment at this price, but worth it. Totally recommended.
2022 UPDATE: Well nothing lasts forever. It shows that these were made in Vietnam, the low quality stitching saw these fall apart in year 4. Okay, 4 years is not too bad for an item of footwear, but these were NOT worn daily and are NOT cheap. Note: nothing to do with leather care (we're good at that in this house too) it's the actual stitching that failed. Madame is nine stone something as well. Poor show ARIAT.
Consequently these arel - with the benefit of 4+ years of experience - now a lot LESS recommended.
