tl;dr version: kuhl spyfire parka=AWESOME! Seriously though, I usually don't go for this style as I am not a rugged outdoorsgirl and I prefer dress coats so, when this showed up (in white, no less!), I was skeptical. After a week or so of daily wear, I am completely won over. The material is incredibly soft - it feels nice and doesn't make that annoying rustle-y /swishy sound that bulky ski jackets do. It's so light weight that I wasn't sure it would keep me warm but it really does. It hasn't really been below freezing yet and there hasn't been any freezing rain so I can't vouch for it under those conditions but I did stand around on the shore of Lake Ontario on a cold, drizzly, blustery day for an hour or so and was quite comfortable. The Spyfire seems pretty water-resistant but it is definitely an amazing windbreaker! The fully adjustable hood and tall front collar were most appreciated. It's slim-fitting and tailored enough that I don't feel out of place wearing it around town and it's style is versatile enough that it looks good with either jeans and sneakers/sporty boots or my usual dressier clothes/boots. It's surprisingly not too snug in the bust (32DDD-ish for the record) and I've worn it with both lightweight and bulkier sweaters underneath. There are two slight complaints: the neck could be a bit higher in the back - it lets in a draft when the hood is down. Also, the hip/rear/thigh area is a wee bit snug but that seems to be consistent with me and kuhl in general. Overall though, the Kuhl Spyfire is probably the best winter coat I've ever owned and I have recommended it to pretty much everybody I know.

I got the Kuhl Spyfire Parka in Ivory- I was afraid it might be too clingy based on the photos- but it was perfect! It looked great on me- I am 5 6 145 and I got a medium. The only time it got tight is when I wore 4 layers underneath and even then it was only tight in the underarm. The coat kept me warm in 20 degree weather and I loved that the hood has that beak on it that protects you from rain as I live in Seattle. I got tons of compliments on this Jacket. My sister who is 5 6 and 120 tried it on and while a bit big she looked good in it too- and she gets lots of compliments on it too. The only quibble with the jacket is that sometimes the zipper is hard to zip- I am not sure why- maybe because it is longer? Also- the Ivory cleans really well- I was nervous having that color but it cleaned the spilt diet coke really well! I love this jacket!!!

Love my new Kuhl Spyfire Parka! I have the white and it is fashionable and practical. The inside and arm pockets are perfect for holding my phone and wallet for when I leave my purse home. A hood is a must for me and this one adjusts easily. I am impressed with the zippers and reflective lining -the center zipper pull is larger and also reflective. This jacket fits me mid thigh and is super comfortable. This is perfect for our Wisconsin winters and will take it when I travel!

DOES NOT RUN SMALL. Not true that this jacket runs small - it is true to size. I'm 5'5 and curvy and a medium would've fit me just fine. The large was way too big all over, otherwise I would've kept the jacket. Loved the look and feel.

RUNS VERY SMALL. I wear a size 12, but the "large" doesn't even come close to fitting. The upper arms, especially, are ridiculously tight. It fits more like a leotard than a coat.

Probably the most comfortable parka I have ever owned! It is so soft and I like the length. I got the carbon color and it's a dark grey. I am 5'7" and the Large is perfect. It is form fitting around the rear, but not too tight at all. I have not yet worn it in the winter, but it seems like it will be nice and warm. I love all the Kuhl details, the seams, the zipper, and the turquoise lining.

Love this coat!!! Warm, light, comfortable and stylish for a down coat. This doesn’t puff out in an unflattering way like most down jackets. No swishy noise when walking. So much prettier and less frumpy than North Face or Patagonia mid length coats (I have both of those too).

Just got this coat in black' size MED. I'm 5'8, 125 lbs and fit is perfect with a tee and/ or light sweater underneath. Wore it on 25 deg, very windy day and was toasty warm. Very happy with this purchase.

Love this jacket! Bought one for myself in black & one for my daughter in cream color. Slim fit(not boxy), stylish, warm, yet light weight jacket that would be a great purchase.

This is sleek fitting but does not restrict movement. The color, fabric and design are stylish. It covers your bottom, is very warm the adjustable hood does a perfect job of not letting in wind. It will not work well with bulky sweaters, but other than that, I feel like "Ski Barbie" wearing it!

It's a beautiful coat, very slick and stylish. But it is not a winter coat to withstand temps<30F. The only reason i am returning this coat is because it gets extremely static when taking it off, generating crackles and making everything cling to it.

Very nice looking parka, but unfortunately the pockets are very low on the coat (I have short arms), and overall too long in length (even though I have a long torso). I ordered a small, am 5' 2", 117 pounds, and it fit more like a medium. Returning despite the good looks of this jacket.

Like most Kuhl products, this jacket is well made. Nice stitching, seams, etc. The sleeves are long enough, and have a really soft cuff to keep air from leaking in. The jacket is very light, so I am not sure how much I will wear it (I live in the northern tier of states), but if you live further south, it might work well for most of the winter months.

Good-looking parka I've had for a few years, but soon after purchasing bought matching thread because the fabric tears VERY easily when catching on thorny shrubs encountered on wooded trails. All other similar insulated coats and jackets I've owned, regardless of cost and age, have never torn, in all my years of walking my dog past multiflora roses, etc. The Mikrotex fabric is fragile. Attractive style but my many small repairs detract. I'm 110 lbs., bought size S but would prefer that the sleeves be less narrow. For the cost, it shouldn't tear so easily.

Fantastic jacket both for looks and warmth yet, it's nice and thin with no bulk. However, the medium is way too small and tight and the large is too large. Also, I had to send mine back because the toggle on the hood broke within a week.

I wanted to love this coat; the styling is gorgeous and the lightweight warmth was exactly what I was looking for. However this coat was not on par with other size XL winter coats of brands I wear-such as North Face, Columbia, Arc'Teryx, and Patagonia- as I could only wear a light shirt under this whereas I can wear heavy sweaters under others. Also, this coat did not cover my butt completely but others in this style do. For the price I also expected better warmth-without the zipper up all the way to the absolute top the cold air was getting in and was not what I needed. Alas it's on its way back now.
