LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!! I am very picky when it comes to comfort & so thankfull I choose this bootie. I didn't want all the bells & whistles for an everyday shoe. These can be dressed up or down. I have a difficult time with pull on boots because I have a very high arch. I do not like the boots either that just have the zipper on the inside of the foot...I think it ruins the design"flow". Sometimes 'pull on ones' are either too sloppy or I cannot get them over my arch. When I saw these they had 2 zippers!! one functional & the other for design. Perfect!! The wedge insole is barely noticible and gives a lot of comfort to the foot..I have had 'some' wedge insoles before which throws your foot to the front of the shoe which cramps your toes, but this does not. There is plenty of room in the toe cap. I purchased 1/2 up for thicker socks in the winter, but even without socks the shoe fits perfect on the M width. Sole is flexible w/ grip & it has a sturdy heel. If need be you could take it to a shoemaker to replace a rundown heel in the future ( my 'cobbler is a genius anyway') because of the sturdy construction. I just sprayed the dickens out of these boots with fabric protector because I purchased the taupe nubuck. I want them to last a long time ! I finally found the perfect bootie after searching forever. They are super comfy, very low ankle and low heel. I wanted an everyday shoe that still looked stylish with my outfit. The color is just a slightly more green but still very similar to the picture. Very versatile. I would very much reccommend. Regarding the comments about the zipper guard in the inside, I dissagree. If you fold it right when you put your shoes on, it's not bulky. Must Buy!

Thank you to all the reviewers here who wrote about how terrific this boot is. I ordered the dark brown which is so deep and rich and looks like a much more expensive leather than the price I paid. The wide firs exactly as it should, right out of the box, and I was able to remove the footbed and use my own custom orthotic. This is a truly beautiful, classic style...it read Western in the brown, but with the right accessories I think I can dress it up. I am going back for the black ones now. I am truly thrilled with this Hush Puppies style and fit! Also...Excellent shipping and service from Zappos, as usual.

I looked far and wide for a bootie just like this, and was so excited when I finally found it: color, style, height all were perfect. But...just one little thing: the outer zipper has a placket that adds bulk to the inside of the shoe, and rubs. You know how it feels to have a little stone in your shoe? Bulky leather on the inside of the shoe is equally annoying over time. Other shoes I've seen all have a thin strip of fabric to protect the foot from the zipper, but this is a little overkill. I thought about bringing it to a cobbler to change it but ultimately I am just going to return it. What a bummer.

Great style and comfort. Walked around Boston for 4 days in these shoes, and was free and vigorous. I love the color, high cut, side zippers. ( yes, the one on the outside works, the other is for style, I think).

I have the oddest feet - too wide, too flat, too short, too high an instep, etc. So, for me to find a pair of shoes that fit, feel comfortable, and aren't the same price as a down payment on a used car, it is a miracle. I love these shoes. It felt like I wasn't wearing shoes sometimes because I was so comfy. I love the color and style (wine suede), and I really hope the blue suede make a comeback, so I can buy those, too. Only critique i have is that both zippers should have been made to function. Other than that, I love these shoes.

This is an update to my original review. I was initially pretty happy with the shoe as it worked with my orthodic and was comfortable. However, after wearing it for a day - just walking around, the entire front of one of the shoes is all scraped up and now non wearable. For $99, I expected better quality then for them to last one day.

Like a previous reviewer, I have thick ankles and a very high instep. Once I changed out the liner these shoes were almost perfect (wish the wide was a little bit wider, but I'm sure they'll give). The extra zipper didn't bother me, as I had no trouble putting them on. Finally found "the ones"!

These were cute boots and seemed well constructed, but there was a sticky substance all around the lower edges of both boots (maybe glue?) that took two washings to get off my hands. If I had kept the boots I'd have had to use alcohol or something to get that off. Super sticky. But cute style!

Cute and comfortable. However, with 2 zippers apparently closing the shoe, only the zipper on the OUTSIDE edge of the foot works - the zipper in the usual position is only for show. With knee problems, this is too awkward - so sadly this shoe is going back!

Comfortable fit - but heel too wide in my case. Nice looking shoe. Sole could use more traction. Inside zipper does not move.

This 7 1/2 Wide was a little too narrow even when tried with a moderate thickness (cotton) sock. I might have considered keeping it in hopes it would stretch a little, but there was a curious stickiness and oiliness to the area where the rubber sole connected with the shoe itself. it felt as if someone had oiled it but it was also gummy! Going back as I am sure that area would collect lots of dirt and dust! Otherwise, it was pretty cute and I liked the "rubber" sole. If it wasn't gummy, I would try an 8W and an 8Medium and see if that would work. Really need a walking shoe for the UK city streets. Will keep looking.

These are a great looking casual bootie. I have them in 2 colors and they work well with any pant because they aren't too high. They hold up well in bad weather and snow. Mine from last season still look really good. They do have a bit of a worn look but it was what I was going for.

Love! All around comfortable and so excited to have a cute fashionable shoe other than a sneaker to put inserts in. Sole included is rather comfortable as it is.

I had to get a 9M instead of an 8.5W, so my fit experience is probably not the best to base a decision on. They feel a little wide at the ankle, so i feel like i am walking out of the shoes in the heels, while the widest part of my foot is a little squished. The insoles are a little slick, but otherwise very squishy and comfy. The zipper opening on the outside is a little weird, but tolerable. I don't have any issues with the inner placket as the leather is quite thin. I love the style - goes with skirts, pants, shorts. I totally dig these shoes and will order another pair when they come in my proper size. Or if they come in red.

The length was true to size but the D width was not quite wide enough with a high instep.

Very, very, VERY comfortable! No break in period at all, as long as you wear socks. These look great with leggings. I usually wear size 7, returned them for a 7.5. If you're between sizes, definitely order the higher size.

Perfect Ankle boot! Stylish with removable insole. So comfortable right out of the box! The zipper location is fine, just something to get use to, no big deal. Love the non-skid sole. I have foot issues: high arch, right foot bunion and plantar fasciitis. I have to wear special inserts for the fasciitis. However, the insole that comes with this ankle boot is so comfortable, I don't need to remove because it provides enough cushioning for my right heel. This can be dressed up or down - great with jeans or a casual skirt or dress. Just love them! I ordered another color to add to my winter wardrobe. Highly recommend! Thank you Zappos!

LOVE these!!!! Comfy the instant I put them on!! The bottom is nice and rubbery too, good traction--but not too clunky. I cannot wait to wear these with skinny jeans and chunky sweaters :) These are prob going to be my go-to when I need something casual on my feet. I thought I wore a 9.5, but apparently a 9W is a better fit (I think my feet have gotten fatter as I've aged). I have a bunion and these don't bother it one bit. Yay!

LOVE this bootie! I need a stiffer sole for a foot issue, but otherwise this is like walking on a cloud and it is a great looking shoe. It seems like it would be a little easier to have the functional zipper (one is for decor) on the inside vs. the outside but otherwise wish I could keep these!

The bootie is great in all ways EXCEPT the heel is very sloppy. Too large, must return. Oh it would fit my orthotic but heel is still too large.

The fit is perfect (size 11) and the boots are very comfortable. I love the insole, my feet feel great walking. I like the style with zippers on each side of the boot. And, everyone who wrote about the sticky goo all the way around where the sole meets the leather, it goes away.

These are the best walking shoes I've ever owned. I wanted something more fashionable than tennis shoes for a trip to Europe and so got these in black. I walked all over Munich, Salzburg and Prague in these, in varying weather including rain. They were ultimately comfortable and dry, not to mention cute. I like that the tops aren't too high and don't rub on my ankles, but are still stable and warm. I love these so much I am buying another pair in brown!

I discovered these booties several years ago. They are the perfect bootie for fall and winter. I spray them with a waterproofing spray just in case but they have held up well. They don't put pressure on my foot anywhere which is great for me since I have sciatica. They look really cute with jeans and leggings and casual pants. I hope they don't get discontinued!!

I order a half size larger in case I wear thicker socks. The shoe pad is like a massage pad as you walk you can feel the soft dots gently massage the bottom of your feet. I wish the arch support is better.
