I have skinny calves and most boots look like galoshes on me. Not these- nice snug fit. I bought them in 2 colors. One pair no break in, the other a little stiff, broke in after 1 day. One pair seemed a little large; the other true to size.I did not find the footbed especially well-cushioned, but they're fine.

Although it is adjustable, I had to loosen the laces so much that I could only use a knot to tie, plus I felt the super stretched laces accentuated my wide calves. I also found that I had to loosen the laces to get the boot on, then tighten them once they were on, which was a real pain to do. I think they would be cuter on someone with smaller calves.

these had out of the box comfort, and with the adjustable calf made it all the more amazing. It has a more casual look than some tall boots with its lug sole, but I only wear them with jeans and leggings, so it would work fine. The comfort with some cushion in the footbed was much better than in many boots I have tried. My calves seem to be just a little bit too big for regular size and too small for large shaft size. The way these tie in the back is awesome.

I've tried on many boots and these fit the bill perfectly. I love the soft leather so no break in period necessary. Also, I have small calves and the laces up the back allowed me to custom fit the boot to my leg. Definitely a keeper! Just received them today and can't wait to wear them!

My WONDERFUL husband surprised me with these boots!! I heard about them on Howdy Slim blog for gals with slim calves. I have searched for boots to fit my scrawny legs (13" calves) for years. I didn't want to spend the money. He ordered them and I love them!! I'm 5'8" and the boot stops about an inch below my knee. Laces make them easily adjustable. So worth the money. The leather is nice and smells so good!! I love the whiskey color. I can't wait to wear them with tights or skirts... That'll be a first for me!! I'll definitely be watching other colors!! I am bummed he paid $150 2 days ago and now they're$139 :(

So obsessed with these boots! I have had a terrible time trying to find boots that fit my small calves. My calves measure 12" around the widest part. The lace up portion in the back allows me to tighten these up and they fit my calves perfectly! They are a bit stiff, but I've only worn them for 1 day and hope they soften up. There is also some amazing cushioning in the boot that makes them so comfortable! My search is finally over!

I ordered the tan and the brown and the reddish. I have a very hard time buying tall boots due to larger calfs. Well I kept the reddish, but I honestly wanted to keep all 3 colors. I may order a second black pair next. Not only do these have circumference flexibility, but they are incredibly cute with the lace up back. The foot bed is quite comfortable, and there is just enough tread and grip on the bottom that I can walk downtown in the winter. Yet not so much that it isn't a great fall boot. You will love these boots...just good luck deciding on a color because I really loved them all. Oh, and I am really picky and I think most boots look cheap, these do not. Best boot find in years, in love with them!

This is a very comfortable boot and I love the style and quality. It feels just a little large in the toe box and ankle area for me. I have narrow feet and slim ankles. I adjusted the laces around the ankle but I still wasn't happy with it. I don't like wearing thick socks even though that probably would have helped. I also didn't care for the way it bunched a little around the ankle. It may be because they are so soft. I wanted to love this boot but for the money I wasn't 100% satisfied. They are very cute with the laces up the back and it's like walking on pillows. I know many are happy with this boot but sadly it just wasn't for me. I ordered an 8-1/2 which is my normal size.

OMG...these are THEE most comfortable boots I have ever owned. The foot bed has a cushion pad on the balls of the feet area and they are as comfy as my Skechers sneakers! Color is beautiful and quality is A+. OMG!!!

These are the most comfortable boots I've ever put on. I'm normally a 7 in flats and 7.5 in boots, and the 7.5 fit very well. The footbed is very cushioned, and the adjustable leg actually fits my skinny legs (most boots are too wide for me in the calf). The boots would also adjust several inches larger with the laces and look great for people with fuller calves. The gray color is a really nice neutral that is more interesting than many boots on the market, and the leather is soft and supple. It was a tough decision to return the boot, which was more casual than I wanted given the lug outsole.

These boots are beautiful. I ordered in my normal size an 8 1/2 but they were a little too big. So I ordered them in an 8 and they are perfect. They fit perfectly around my calf. A great deal, beautiful leather and design. Love them! They got here very quickly and there is absolutely not problem in returns.

I love these boots! I bought 2 different colors after getting the first and liking them so much. I have VERY thin calves and haven't found any other boots that don't look ridiculous on me. These are comfy, look good with skinny jeans and leggings and are not too big for my chicken legs.

I LOVE THESE BOOTS!!!! I bought a pair in whiskey and once I got them and put them on I was in LOVE. I tried to get this boot in black and they were sold out every where. I have been stalking zappos for these in a 7. I just snagged the last pair!! They are perfect height, I am a short girl so a lot of boots tend to come up mid knee which is so irritating. I would totally recommend!

Gorgeous boots! Soft beautiful leather, really comfortable footbed. The shaft was closer to 16" on the 8.5" so have to return. Bummer. Hit me just below the knee which is too tall. Otherwise I thought I had found the perfect boot and would have bought another color for the price. Great quality, and Zappos customer service can't be beat!

The comfort level is exactly what you'd expect from a brand called Sofft. Alas! I wanted desperately to love these boots. I was torn and kept them for a while and even sent photos to my friends. But they are soooo tall, that if you're 5'2" like me, they'll hit right at the knee or just grazing it. I felt like they swallowed my leg. That made them buckle a bit at the ankle and so they looked more casual than I was hoping for. I already have several casual boots - so had to send these back. I have pretty muskular calves and felt they fit right there, and the quality was excellent. I only go leather now because they last forever. Sadness!

Love this boot. The leather is high quality and the circumference is narrow which is great for my very small calves. I’m usually swimming in boots but not these. I’m 5’2” and they don’t come up too high on my leg. If you have average or large calves I would imagine that these would be too narrow for you.

Nice boot with great arch support but the calf was too wide for me. (I seem to have average size calves, never had a problem with boots before). The sole also was a little too thick and chunky looking for my taste.

My daughter loves these boots! I have the taller version (Sofft Wheaton), and bought these for her because of the comfortable heel height, and similar style, with lace-up, adjustable back, which is both stylish and great for narrower calves. The whiskey color is a beautiful, natural leather with some variation in tone...they should develop a great patina over time. The quality of the leather on this pair is high...soft, thicker leather which does scuff a bit and will add to the "worn" appeal, but is different than the Sofft Wheaton leather (Aztec Brown) which is more polished and does not scuff easily. The fit of the Sharnell was true to size for my daughter, with room for toe movement with a regular sock. The ankle area has a bit more room than most boots for comfort, but doesn't slouch too much as the calf feels secure due to the adjustable lace-up back. The heel height is perfect for a teensy lift with jeans, or a casual dress. All in all, a gorgeous, quality boot with great fit!

I am madly in love with this boot. BUT the sizing is weird. I am a consistent 10, rarely 9.5. So I started with the 10 - too big. Then tried 9.5 - still too big. I finally got a 9, and it is perfect. I NEVER wear 9. Based on the reviews on this and other websites, this only happens with larger sizes, so order down if you have big feet like me... Aside from that, I couldn't be happier. I am 5'8" with 13.5" calves. They fit perfectly, and could still be tightened about an inch more if you're smaller. Like every girl with small calves, I have ordered and returned a gazillion pairs of boots in search of a pair that is cute and doesn't gap, because boots listed as 13.5" are more like 14.5" in a size 10. But this is the answer!!

Love Love Love. Bought in black and brown. For over 10 years I looked for a boot I could wear with dresses with my martens neuroma...flexible, no heel, wider toe box...add to that my narrow foot and calf. Pay dirt. Not dressy, but better than my fleecy suede I made do with for many years. I love the laces that tighten to fit or expand with jeans inside. Only negative is the laces won't stay tied, even with a knot, but I just deal with it as they come loose or may buy new laces someday. I am 5'6 and typically wear a 9.5 these don't look 'huge' like most flat boots do.

Extremely comfortable boots. I walked in them all day in Washington D.C. They felt like I was walking in a cloud. Bought them in a second color I loved them so much. Worth every penny.

I ordered the grey for a cosplay for Arwen from Lord of the Rings. ????? This boot is a work of art! The distressing is so gorgeous. It’s a bit cartoony for every day but my mom loved them and is trying to steal them from me so they can’t be too cartoony. The leather is so soft and thick. The footbed is thick padded leather. THE ZIPPER ZIPS ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM!!!! THE LACES UNLACE ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM!!!! I don’t like struggling to put on shoes. These are so easy to unlace, unzip and slip into QUICKLY like when I’m late for everything. I’m obsessed. I’m ordering the whiskey ASAP. So you can literally wear them out of the box with or without socks - though I don’t know anyone who would wear boots with out socks... They were so comfy I didn’t want to take them off and I hate wearing shoes - did I mention that yet? I plan to wear these to conventions which can include driving for hours, walking around / standing on my feet / being photographed for 8-12 hours. I have giant athletic (muscular) calves which are MUSCLE which cannot be smooshed and if anything is tight on them it aches, especially when they are sore from training. These must literally fit every calf size, including my gargantuan 17.25” calves. Besides that, I’m old and my feet feel cramped easily. There is room in my toebox which is great, and the ankles aren’t too tight or too baggy. I don’t remember when I stopped being able to wear cheap shoes - but it’s making it very difficult for me to shop. I’ve always snubbed my nose at Sofft when I’ve seen them at Nordstrom but now I see what all the fuss is about. Note almost all of my boots are from Sorel. The real reason why these work for me is because I can modify them for other costumes. I can switch out the lacing or even take out the tongue if I want to. The construction is simple enough that I could easily sew onto them (and the leather is soft which is easier to sew through) I could also easily add armor to them because the leather is thick. I know this means nothing for readers but that’s why I was excited to find them. I’m usually a 9 but ordered a 10 just to be safe / for when my feet expand & to give me some breathing room. The 10 fit perfect out of the box but may loosen over time. Lately though, the looser my shoes are the happier I am.

Love these boots! My only problem is there’s something hard that butts up to the top of my foot and is uncomfortable but I suspect this will go away after some breaking in. Love the style and color (whiskey). Went out for lunch and caught some women oogling at them!

Jumped right into these and wore them all day. I a 10.5 W and the 11M were perfect. The lace up in the back give you room to wear a variety of outfits. Wide calf and skinny calf friendly because of lace ups too. Very pretty rich leather and nice warm brown color.
