Great bag for a short, 1-3 day business trip. It completed the set for me.

Hartmann is the best. I know this will last forever. It matches a larger piece I already own. I travel all over the world and need very sturdy, reliable luggage.

Use: Business trips as it is a bit small for a long vacation, unless you are a very efficient packer. So great: I'm in love with the retro style. It is classic and easy to identify. You cannot beat the quality of a Hartmann piece of luggage. Not so great: The size is smaller than my older carry-on Hartmann. I will be using this for shorter business travel trips. For many generations, my family has used only Hartmann luggage. Co-workers have asked why I spend so much on a piece of luggage and I tell them it is because of the quality as well as the customer service if something does not work/breaks. I love Hartmann!

My previous Hartmann bag the same size as this one lasted 20 years! Finally it gave out, but knowing that this one would be as well made and last another 20 made it worth the price. It is a handsome bag, very well designed with attention to detail and quality.

As the aisles in airlines are becoming ridiculous narrow, I opted to purchase a Carry-On Spinner. Wanted to match my Hartmann Tweed. The new tweed does not match and though the label says full-grain leather, it is not the same type of belting leather used in the previous Hartmann Tweed. It is an attractive piece of luggage with the same attention to detail. I prefer the new tweed fabric - it is updated and stylish. Hopefully the Carry-On Spinner will be as good of quality as the old Hartmann luggage made in Tennessee.

I fly weekly for business. This bag works well. Its spacious as I can include clothing (shirts, slacks, undergarments, plus a pair of jeans and two casual shirts), toiletries, and a winter hat for 3 nights out plus workout shoes and gear. It rolls very well, looks good, and is distinctive in appearance enabling you to quickly recognize it. All that typed, it is too big to fit in the overhead compartment of all planes notably the Bombardier CRJ line that tended to pop up on my routes. In that case, I have to check it at the door of the plane and stand in line to pick it up once I get off. A minor but significant annoyance I had hoped to avoid when buying it. So don't buy it if you think it will fit in all planes and instead get a smaller size (19" length or smaller, I think).

The mechanism for the retractable handle broke within 2 years-made of plastic. Rendered the bag useless.

Have only used once but I do not expect it to hold up to airline travel. Not good quality. Gets very dirty and has to be cleaned after use.

DON'T ORDER THIS BAG FROM ZAPPOS. Three, yes three, of these bags have been shipped to me. All three have arrived LOCKED, and the lock cannot be unlocked without a TSA key, as confirmed by Hartmann. Even after three separate calls to Zappos customer service, I'm extremely disappointed that they still haven't managed to get a suitcase to me I could actually open! Utterly uncharacteristic of Zappos. And what a shame to have to give such a low rating to what's probably a very good bag, but I don't know how else to help prevent others from wasting time buying a bag that they'll be unable to use.
