Being a very active man with wide feet (who has always been relegated to a tiny subset of brands that accommodate wide feet like Asics, New Balance, etc), I was a bit skeptical when I first ordered these shoes. But considering some of the reviews I found on YouTube, I figured I'd give them a chance, especially since I had a few obstacle course races coming up (Tough Mudder, Rugged Maniac & Spartan). And I'm glad I did! Apparently, their "standard" fit is the perfect width for my feet. I typically have to wear anywhere between a 2E or 4E in other shoes to achieve a comfortable fit. Your big-name companies like Nike, Adidas, etc. tend to neglect those of us with well-endowed pedal pushers. So it was nice to find a company like Inov-8 who took care of this for me. Aside from the sizing, I also love the way these shoes perform on my hikes in the mountains of Phoenix. You can literally feel how well the tread grips the different terrain types. Durability is the other highlight for me. Other than regular training, hiking and running, these shoes have also lasted pretty well through 2 of my obstacle races, so far; and I have another coming up in a few months. After the races, I just hose them off in the back yard pretty thoroughly and let them dry for my next training day. These are my first pair of Inov-8 shoes; but, if this same quality holds up, I'm a customer for life.
The attached photos are from today, showing the durability after frequent training, hiking and running since I bought the shoes in July.

These are extremely light and comfortable shoes. They fit true to US sizes and despite being labeled as "standard" fit my slightly wide feet very well. I still had room for my feet to splay when making a hard cut in them, and the traction is outstanding in the dry, dusty dirt and grass environments we hold our events at. They look very well made and I expect them to last and perform for quite a while.
