these are really comfortable right out of the box- I wear the Pasadena and Corvalis Birkenstocks and all the Birks fit my feet in size 45 reg. I don't think these are waterproof but I have been in the rain today and my feet are dry. I have had a lot of boots and these are really nice because the toe box is roomy but doesn't look squared off like some other Birk shoes I have- the soles are not too chunky and are prefect mix for light off road and dress casual- the leather is VERY soft and supple - I don't recall ever getting a pair of boots made of leather in this classic style that didn't need at least a small amount of break in - these just felt really made for my feet.

I really like these boots! They feet well, the size I noted as "True to Size" but they are a hair bigger than I expected. Although this is a Birkenstock shoe, the arch supports in them are different from the classic insoles found in the Sandals and Clogs, it's just slightly lower, but not enough to be disappointed. My only wish (which is why they didn't get 5/5 stars) is the gusseted tongue. I wish the leather was more substantial (it's a bit thin and soft) and there seems to be too much material there since it wrinkles up when i tie the shoes. Overall, these are minor gripes since i'm a pretty picky person. I don't expect these minor things will bother me long-term. I do recommend these if you are looking for a boot of this style but are tired of having to buy 3rd-party insoles for extra support, and looking for a really good quality-made boot.

These are great out of the box but I think they'll take some breaking in before longer hikes are comfortable. Nice quality leather and cool style. Boot made in Portugal and sole made in Germany.

If you love Birkenstocks then this is the perfect boot. Rugged awesome look.
