The coat seems well made and perfect for cool weather.
HOWEVER, I am 5'9" 185 lbs. I have broad shoulders and back. This coat (size L) is so restrictive I cant move my arms. If I stand still with my arms at my sides it looks great, but it does not function.
I do not understand why the models wear size medium. This only makes for more returns to Zappos and $ for UPS.
The XL fits me better across the back.
(I bought both sizes.)
My only complaint is the sleeves are a bit too long on both size coats.

Been buying my son NF jackets most every year for years! This is first time I bought one on line, do to job constraints! Was very nervous about arriving before Xmas, but it arrived as it stated it would! This jacket is my sons favorite of all his NF jackets!! Thank you. It's light, durable yet protects him from cold and wind! Skiing is going to be fantastic in Boulder with this jacket.

I'm 6' and somehow the sleeves of a medium go past my hands. I've never had this problem before. The rest of the jacket fits perf I don't get it. Sorry tnf I'm not a monkey my hands don't go down to my knees. Had to return.

I was leery ordering a coat online that I couldn't try on first but once I received it I was extremely happy! It fits great, looks great and is exactly what I was looking for. A lightweight, spring/fall coat for Michigan cooler weather.

This is for our son who is in that weird in between stage of life. We knew it wouldn't fit perfectly as ans xs men's jacket, but that style is not available in xl boys. It's always our challenge. We are willing to forgo the longish sleeves for the wind/waterproof coat.

Purchased this in size small. Fits great with room to spare. Would not go smaller or larger. Great jacket. WARM.

This is a great lightweight, but warm layering jacket. It is sturdy and structured but has the ability to protect against wind and some rain.

I pretty much use this jacket anytime I need something more than a shirt, It never gets too hot and I never get too cold. Absolutely the best jacket to wear in weather like here in NC!

This is a great jacket with quality materials and craftsmanship. The jacket is heavier than I imagined. It is ideal for late fall, mild winters, and early spring. I like the asphalt gray color as an alternative to black. As a bonus, the North Face logo is gray and doesn't stand out as much as white on black. I was surprised to find tie-offs for the hem cinch in the pockets. It would seem TNF could have found a better place for them. The side pockets are deep and zippered. The breast pocket is also deep and ideal for a cell phone. There are no internal pockets, which would have been nice. My only real complaint is that the sleeve length is a little too long. I have a 33" sleeve length, and I'm guessing this is 1-2" longer. I bought a medium for 5'8" and 180 lbs. The fit is great although it is a bit slim, so there isn't much room for under layers.

This is my 2nd Apex Bionic jacket. The sleeve length feels slightly to long compared to my first. Otherwise I I love the jacket and use it during all 4 seasons.

I bought this as a gift for my husband. He really likes it and it looks really good on him. It fits true to size. The only thing he wasn't thrilled with is that the material makes that "swishing" sound when it rubs against itself..more so than his old soft shell jacket. But overall he is happy with it.

Wanted to like this, but the fit didn't work. Had a medium that would have been good except not enough room in shoulders. Sleeves were longer than necessary but could have lived with that. Jacket felt too short relative to my shirts (6' 185 lb.) I had tried a size large elsewhere and that was too big. Material quality and color were great. The style though on me was just ok. But thanks Zappos!

The inside fabrics should be swapped. There's a clingy fleece fabric in the sleeves and a smoother sleek fabric in the front body portion. The sleeve fabric makes it difficult to insert and extract your clothed arms from the coat. If the sleeker chest and stomach fabric was in the sleeves and the soft fleece fabric was on the body the jacket would function better.

I owned the Apex 2 for over 3 years and was my favorite jacket. Versatile for most conditions and dead situations. The new Apex 2 sleeves are too long and unable adjust and the fit just seems off. I miss my Apex Bionic and wished North Face hadn't messed with a good thing.

I am 5' 9 and 175 lbs, and I usually wear medium size clothing. I have noticed that for north face jackets they tend to be a little bigger, so this time I ordered a small and it was still a little big. I would have kept this jacket if the only problem was just that it was a little big, but after trying it on I realize the sleeves were very long.

This will be my third Apex but my 1st gen 2. The sleeves are too long and they completely removed the velcro cuffs and removed the embroider logo.
I will look into other brands when buying my next soft shell jacket

This is the third I've owned but the redesign has made it genuinely unwearable -- The collar is an inch higher than before, resulting in it constantly brushing the face. When zipped up, it's far too high and rubs the chin. Without a zipper garage, that high zipper snags whiskers.
It's so uncomfortable I can't even give it away; Three friends/family had the same issue and gave it back. As a new and very nice looking jacket, that says a LOT.
