Road warrior. Travel for business and pleasure. Wanted a bag with shoulder straps that wouldn't rip or show wear soon. Got much more than I bargained for. Bag is AWESOME! Can stuff it with more than I can carry! Bonus is handle on the outer pocket, it is perfect for grabbing off of the x-ray belt at the airport an is perfectly balanced. Also LOVE the zipper seal on the laptop compartment. Seals out water like a drysuit zipper. Nice. All other zippers are shielded. Best commuter bag I've owned.

This is the best backpack I've ever owned. It's super light, functional, and carries everything I need (and even stuff I don't). I've taken it with me everywhere: climbing trips, grueling multi-day hikes, and week-long international trips. It looks great, so it doesn't look out of place in any setting (e.g., urban, outdoors, etc.). I love that it's lightweight, but also extremely durable. I use it every single day and always bring it with me whenever I travel. Highly recommend!

I used this bag every day while abroad and still use it on a day-to-day basis for going to work (I ride my bike). I can fit everything I need for just under a week of travel as well--could probably fit enough for two weeks or more if I have access to washer/dryer. Only two complaints: 1. I typically wear tank tops (the thin spaghetti strap kind) when I'm traveling in hot climates. The mesh on the straps is pretty rough on my skin and leaves red marks on my shoulders and upper back; it starts getting pretty painful after a few hours of walking, depending on how heavy my bag is that day. 2. The cross chest strap is weirdly off, it falls diagonally across my chest unless I have the straps at extremely different lengths, which in turn throws off the balance of the backpack. Likely just a weird defect on mine, as it seems no one else has had this issue.

Love my Comet. Last year I purchased the Ozone 46 and fell in love with it but I was looking for something a little bit smaller for every day carry. After looking at the other packs in 24/SEVEN series including the Nebula I found that the Comet's main pocket held more than the Nebula. Even though the Comet is a 30L and the Nebula is a 34L. I am able to carry a complete change of cloths, cables, checkbook, 2 cell phone chargers, extra glasses, keys, notepad, laptop, bandanna, gum, and a few other things. My wife was so impressed that she got a Comet also.

Solid pack with big compartment for laptop papers and two or three books. Nice mix of three smaller outside pockets of different shapes. In great shape after 8 months of daily abuse on the subway.

Love this bag. Bought it as an undergrad and it's still serving me well as a graduate student.

I had a previous comet for 4 years. I Choose to go with the comet again. It is a little different from my previous model but I am now familiar with the layout and really like the bag.

I bought this pack to use as my 'briefcase' for work. I carry a 15" Thinkpad, charger, spare battery, and several cables. The laptop compartment snugly fits my big laptop..it's almost a tailor-made fit. There is plenty of room left in the main pouch with all my gear. The front pouch is a great organizer for pens, cards, food, and cosmetics. The pack holds much more than it looks like it can. With the pack weighed down, long walks in the airport or conference centers are easy. My back gets mildly sweaty, but not as bad as with other packs. The venting and materials are effective. Not as good as Osprey's AG system, but better than most. The side pockets hold a Nalgene easily. The front handle is nice when slamming this bag into a carry-on bin. I've not found a better pack for hauling around my laptop and business tackle.

This Comet has travelled around the world with me for 5 years. It's light, comfortable, weather proof and ideal for short vacations. The only issues are: it can stand by itself, loaded or unloaded; and its rubber zipper pull breaks under extensive usage (used almost daily). I am currently contacting Osprey for a zipper pull replacement service, wish me luck.

The bag is nice and light. I've used it for dayhiking and as a commuter. Organization is good, and the bright interior makes it super easy to find stuff. Padding on the back is sufficient but can get sweaty, same with the shoulder straps. Two issues: mesh on the side pockets is too weak (I'm a desert hiker, things get scraped), and there's no hang-strap or similar for a hydration bladder. Any pack with a hydration port (which this has) should have at least a loop of 1/4" webbing to suspend a bladder. As a commuter bag, I feel like the laptop compartment doesn't have enough padding for a very heavy (ie corporate-owned) laptop. You will feel the laptop through the back, and it might ding a corner when you set it down. But there is more than enough space for all of your paraphenalia (chargers, writing tools, etc) and a non-insulated lunch.

I used this bag for a couple of months before I accidentally dropped it while taking it out of the car. Even though this was a drop of only around a foot, it ended up damaging the corner of my new MacBook. Afterwards, I inspected the laptop sleeve portion of the bag a bit closer and noticed that the padding at the bottom of the laptop sleeve is actually quite thin; definitely thinner than the padding on the sides of the laptop sleeve. This, to me, is an obvious design flaw. The place on the laptop sleeve where the padding SHOULD be THICKEST is actually the place where the padding is THINNEST. When I called Osprey directly to request some kind of exchange, they refused. The customer support person told me that the laptop sleeve can't be expected to protect a laptop perfectly, and that because there was nothing FUNCTIONALLY wrong with the bag, it didn't qualify for the All Mighty Guarantee. I understand their position. Yes, I dropped the bag. But surely the bag could have been designed better to provide more protection for laptops. After all, isn't that the purpose of a laptop sleeve in the first place? That being said, this IS a nice bag. Great materials, pockets, etc. But it does NOT adequately protect a laptop so if you plan on using it for that purpose, I would recommend looking elsewhere. A bag with thicker padding or with a suspended laptop sleeve (where the laptop doesn't sit directly on the bottom of the bag) would be much better.
