Hands down the most comfortable boot ive ever purchased in my 20 yr career as an ironworker..timberland nailed it on this boot design and functionality. Ive worn most brands out there, georgia's, redwings, thourogoods, ect and i believe ill be back to buy additional pairs of timb's gridworks boot..youve just earned a repeat customer, thankyou

I am a bigger guy always have issues with long term comfort on my feet all day. Always have been a true fan of the Dakota ironworker but never liked the foam sole great boot bad sole. These boots were a huge surprise for me comfortable right out of the box, holding up great so far the rubber sole is still in great shape. Great value and durable ....... good job

I abuse the hell out of my boots and body! This is the first boot in 24 years that has held up longer than 6 months. The wedge sole on these boots wear great, unlike the vibram wedge which is normally worn out in 4 months or less. I have tried every brand of boot known, from$100-$400 and nothing compares. I tried the timberland pros when the first came out and trashed them in 3 months. I stayed away for a few years and figured I'd give them a try again. I can't speak for any other model boot but this one they have figured out. Now I want to buy a few pairs just to have for future but they aren't in stock or my luck discontinued.

I live and work here in NYC. I'm a rigging foreman, and most days, I'm up 40 stories on a building placing beams, or columns. Balance and footing are important, and these boots right here, are sincere perfection in my line of work.

Great boot for what it is. Sturdy, durable, comfortable, affordably priced. They're not very breathable but that's to be expected from a waterproof boot. A great boot if you don't resole boots and don't care where they're made. I will not be purchasing another pair when these wear out because I've decided to start buying USA made.

Bought them shortly after hurricane irma, waterproofing is still great and the leather is holding up very well. The insoles aren't very "cushion-ey" anymore but they aren't flat and still fit well. the alloy toe has saved me a few ER trips and is still very strong.

Excellent work boot.
I can confidently say that these are the most comfortable work boots I own. I have abused mine for a little more than one year. They've been through all types of terrain and seen all kinds of weather (Except snow. I recommend the Timberland PRO Boondock for snow). Still waterproof and still the pair I find myself grabbing each morning.
Note: I rated these boots 4 stars due to the separation of the sole. Around 11 months of wear I found the bottom grey portion of the sole separating itself from the center sole. However, I put some Shoe Goo on it and have been abusing them since. No further issues.
Still a highly recommended work boot. Especially if you're tough on your boots.

I justvuse these boots to walk around outside when it's cold or wet out. Paired with the Timberland wool socks my feet stay warm dry and comfortable.

Ok so I left a review upon first receiving boots new and first try on..obviously i was very impressed with overall design and comfort.
PROS- easy on and off, 99% waterproof, bulletproof sole, built in toe guard, supple leather, ergonomic design, excellent winter/ cool weather boot
CONS-rather large/heavy boot due to liner/ padding built in under leather,
Warm/ hot in summer months.
Non leather tongue. Non fire resistant
..So itll be cool to see this made unlined. Having a waterproof isnt as important to me as i reside in the southern California. Lighten up the boot and ill be back

I wore a 6" version of these boots for over year and they were amazing in both comfort and how they wore. I don't remember any Timberland Pros lasting as long. I am in the HVAC field and its not uncommon for me to be in my work boots for 12 hours a day during the summer months. Never had 1 issue. However, I ordered the 8" because the 6" was out of stock in my size and the 8" had pinch points on my shin and just didnt feel right on top. Hence the 3 stars.

The black colored out sole is soft and thin.
BUT....
IT NEEDS TO BE THICKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
grippy while its still there!! but don't count on it being such for very long maybe 3-4 months MAX!
Been wearing these daily since AUG'18.
No break-in needed. Waterproof yes. feet don't sweat. at the time i purchased the 8" soft toe was the only option. I'm supposed to wear steel-alloy-composite toe..haha everybody "assumes" these are because of the rubber cap stays rigid. Shhhhhhh!!! Lol
All around Decent, Comfortable, Dry Boot.
I WILL NOT!!! buy these again because of the wear factor on the outsole.(DANGEROUS)!!

I always liked iron workers and was excited to see Timberland made them. My last boots were boondocks and were the best most durable boot I ever had so I was confident these would be great too.these just barely lasted a year. They are still comfortable but haven't been waterproof for months. Sparks burnt through the tounge sides because they aren't full leather and I now get them on my foot burning me. The bottom material is very soft and I'm constantly digging hot metal pieces out of them. The toe has just worn out and the steel toe is visable. They're good boots just not up to welding and being in all conditions outside

Hotwork causes pinholes in non leather part of tongue making waterproofing useless and allowing sparks to burn your feet

ATTENTION IRONWORKERS! There is a serious design flaw in this boot. The tongue is not all leather! Sparks burn through the synthetic part of the tongue and down into the foot. Very dangerous and very painful. Also due to the holes cause by the sparks, the boot is no longer waterproof. Also, an insulated, composite toe version of this boot would be ideal for north american winters.

Carpenter wood framing in Pacific Northwest. The black rubber on sole wears out very fast. I have Only worn these for three months(see pics)They are very comfortable.good eyelet spacing. Great design. CHEAP materials used or just need to make the black rubber sole much much thicker. Very disappointed in that flaw.I will not purchase again unless the design is improved.

As soon has there's a bit of dust on the floor you slip with these boots on. Pretty dangerous when you're on a roof and there is a bit of dust on the sheets.

Poor SupportGreat Support
I purchased these boots based upon all the positive reviews claiming how comfortable these were for walking around on concrete all day. My experience couldn't be further from those reviews! I gave these boots a week to prove otherwise, but every day my feet and back hurt more and more. It felt like there was zero arch support and the soles of my feet were in pain. I am a mechanic and normally wear my boots until I go to bed, but I found myself barely making it in the door after work before I had to get them off due to foot pain. I am used to a boot break in period from stiff leather and such, but these weren't stiff as in tough leather, it was the soles and lack of support . They claim to have comfort soles, and looking at all the layers in the soles, you would think they were. Since I've worn them for a week, zappos won't take them back, but I saw on the card insert that came in the box that Timberland will within 30 days. I called them and they will accept them for a refund, minus tax and return shipping. So I am out around $40 and have to wait 2 months before I supposedly get my refund check, which isn't ideal, but at least I'm not out $186! I hope my review helps others before purchasing these believing that these are extremely comfortable boots. I went back to the Irish Setter Iron Rangers which I previously wore and loved.
