These shoes are great! Lightweight, well designed (they’re Swiss!), and are comfy! I haven’t used them for trail running yet, but they are grippy everywhere else I’ve taken them. I can’t wait for Zappos to stock the new color so I can buy them again.

Very nice shoe. Felt true to size and super comfortable. In my opinion it's the most masculine looking/"outdoorsman" style shoe from On. I love the brand and have five different models from On. I have flat feet and can wear them all day with zero pain or discomfort. The low review wasn't very fair from the person that said they were great except that they usually wear a wide shoe and thought they would try this but it wasn't wide enough in the standard size. They liked everything else so yo me it's not right to mark it down in rating based on your own mistake in thinking they would magically be better. I didn't mark them down for not being able to walk on water with them. :)

Great shoes. A perfect blend of mild support and flexibility.

It is damn near impossible to put this shoe on - there is not tongue and you have to be a contortionist with a long shoe horn ( maybe ) to even think about getting it on. Once on after an unacceptable battle - it was very comfortable. Poor design on this one. I love ON shoes overall !

I usually wear a wide width shoe but I thought I'd try the On Cloudventure Midtop. It wasn't wide enough for me but I appreciated the upper design and the subdued color. If it was offered in a wide width I would order it.

This shoe is impossible to put on. There is no separate tongue, you have to try to squeeze your foot into the opening.

I really don’t get the bad reviews related to putting the shoe on. Is it different than your average pair of shoes? Yes. Is it really that hard to figure out though? No. All you need is a shoe horn (duh). “Problem” solves. It’s user error not the design. I’ve had them for about a week. In that time, I’ve gone on five walks averaging four miles. I find them very comfortable and very functional. The blisters on my toes have gone away and they don’t rub the back of my ankles. I’m very pleased.

Size same as my cloud, width though is much better. Love the mid-cut style. Difficult to put on but not as tough as Nike KD shoes. Hope though that they will have an all black for this style.

I'm hard on shoes, period. This was my first "test" of ON brand shoes and agree with several reviews above as to ease of donning. I installed speed laces that improved that aspect even though they still take extra time compared to "standard" shoes. However comma, once "On", they rock! I have worn them running on treadmills, hiking on (dry) rocky trails and dirt, mud and long walks (10 miles+) on asphalt. By far the most comfortable "all purpose" shoes I have worn. As mentioned above, their downside is H2O resilience. Add water to your day and they become soggy and slip easily on hard surfaces despite their claims to the contrary. Overall though, On makes a great, competitive product and as with all Swiss products, functional. Order them a 1/2 size smaller than you need, bypass the waterproofing and mid-top option (Cloud X) and you'll be good to go. IMHO RR

The separate collar was an annoyance. It made putting the shoe on cumbersome and irritatingly rubbed on my ankle just below the bony prominences. I didn’t get beyond walking around in them for an hour before seeing how much I would blister with a run.

I’ve had mine for about 9 months now, and they’ve lost their waterproof ability. Did about a month or so ago. They are extremely capable in difficult terrain, especially down hill. However, very stiff. Not all that comfortable, for me, for an all day shoe. But for trail running or light hiking, in dry conditions, they are hard to beat. I’m disappointed that the shoe lost it’s waterproofing with less than a year of wear. If these loose theirs so quickly, is there really such a thing as a waterproof shoe that is not rubber?

Like running on bowling balls. No inner-heal support.
