Very good size - my 16 inch Mac fits perfectly. I will say I never really use the side zipper that accesses the laptop sleeve cus my laptop is just a tad to large to be able to easily take in/out via the zipper, but it's not an inconvenience and if I had a smaller laptop I'm sure would be nice. More padding on the back would be nice. Material is very lightweight and somewhat thin, but the few times I have had the bag out in the rain (usually no longer than 20-30 minutes), I am pleasantly surprised that nothing inside is damp at all. The side pockets are also pretty nice, although a tad shallow for my preference. Overall, very lightweight which I love, and an all around good bag. ALSO - I love the little straps on the sleeves (one says Timbuk 2 on it) - they're perfect for looping your thumbs through while walking.

I bought this because I wanted a waterproof backpack, and I got to test it out the very first day I got it, because it rained and I was biking to work. It's waterproof, and it holds LOTS of stuff. My only complaint is that you have to completely take it off and put it down in order to get into it. I'm used to backpacks that I can swing off of one shoulder and get something out of easily, but this one is more of a hassle. I also wish it had another pocket or two. But overall a really good backpack.

I love the color scheme of this bag and it seems rugged enough for my daily commute through NYC. There's a couple of strategically placed zippers that I've enjoyed having because one of them lets me access my laptop/notebook without having to open the roll top. Likewise, there's a "hidden" zipper big enough only for my wallet and keys that I like to utilize. My only complaint is that I wish that they made the zipper slightly, slightly larger so that I could fit my cell phone inside. I don't have one of those gigantic screen sizes, just a normal sized phone and there's no way to get it in there. Overall it's a great backpack, I've gotten plenty of compliments on it, and I've been recommending the bag to people.

This is a great day to day carry pack but for biking there isn't a chest strap so it's not great for long amounts of time. The bottle pockets in the side aren't elastic so restrictive on size and the padding for laptop is minimal. I also wish you had the option to roll it smaller than what is allowed.

Access into the bag is outstanding, using the roll top and side zipper. The 2 zip pockets are a nice added feature. The bottle pockets need to be deeper, and bellowed out a bit more so that the stuff in the bag does not push out against whatever's stored in there. The bag could be just a tad bigger, but that's just my preference.

I wanted a top-loading backpack instead of the traditional zip-around. I'd tried another brand but it was too small for all the things I carry to work. The Tuck is perfect--it is roomy, has a place for my laptop/iPad (whichever I'm carrying on any given day), and is well-made. I was glad to find it in navy blue, and even more glad that it had two pockets on the outside for water bottles. My only beef with this bag is that there aren't enough loops to hook keys, etc. to--if it had a couple of these, it'd be absolutely perfect.

Generally I am very happy with the bag. I wish the laptop was able to be more safely secured in the bag and that the bag maybe had a drawstring closure or something. It does make me slightly nervous at how much it can slide around in the compartment. I can't keep the bag "rolled" successfully so sometimes if the bag gets tossed around smaller items creep out of the opening. Generally happy with it though.

I bought this pack because I was jealous of the one that a friend owned. It's a great catch all for the bips and bobs that I like to have with me on any given day. Convenient roll top to the main compartment makes loading of goods easy. Various compartments accessible by zipper allows for the convenient separating of items. The only thing that I do not like about the pack is that the one of the two side pouches was mis-sewn (I am assuming) so that I can fit only fit one of my 40 oz water bottle in only one of the pouches.

Long time timbuk2 user. I've been using this bag for about a month and I really like it the pockets on the side are deep enough that they fit my water bottle, it holds a ton of stuff, including my computer, work gear and a workout outfit. My only wish is that one of the pockets on the inside was a little deeper, but it still fits most of my stuff in an organized way. The grey color is prettier in person too.

This bag is great! The materials are very high quality and comfortable to wear. The straps are on the thinner side which is good for my small frame but they do not have much padding. The size is perfect for my 16" MacBook and other necessities I bring to and from work. The placement of the front pocket is perfect for me to grab my ID and keys to enter buildings. The only issue I have is the waterbottle pockets take up room on the inside- that being said if you have a large item in your bag you will not be able to fit a water bottle in the pocket which is why this bag isn't 5 stars... (thankfully my bottle has a clip to hang off one of the shoulder straps.) Overall: fantastic bag for everyday use but you could run into issues if you need to carry something on the larger side.

The bag was on sale and was the perfect bag I needed for carrying my backpack to and from work. The colors are all so great it was hard making a decision. I love the pocket in the front for quick items and the zipper in the bag to easily reach for my laptop, say if I'm at an airport. The inside has organizational pockets for smaller items and pens. The sleeve of the laptop and backing are thin so I wouldn't throw my backpack down with a laptop inside. The straps are thin as well not ideal for a lot of weight but I think work great if the bag isn't overfilled. I love the fold-over adjustable clip to allow more space for bulky items like a jacket.

I love the size of this bag and all the compartments for storage. I have been using it on my bike commutes to work. The fabric is great and seems durable and sturdy. The one complaint I have is it doesn't have a chest strap which would make wearing it on my bike much more comfortable.

I use this as a work-bag. It holds my large-and-in-charge laptop, but it fits in the sleeve perfectly. I love that its a separate zipper so if I JUST need my laptop I don't need to go digging down a black hole to get it. It fits my back perfectly, & everything feels secure and simple. I know where my things are! The only downfall is I couldn't customize it and had limited color options, & I'm not in LOVE with the colors I chose, but they are true to the website.

Was looking for a new backpack and ran across this one on sale. Not completely what I wanted - the laptop pocket isn't padded and there aren't a whole lot of other pockets inside for stuff. But it's big, roomy, easy access (side pocket to remove laptop is a good touch) and it serves the purpose. Nice back for the price.

Bought this backpack because I was looking for one for the office, but didn't want the hiking aesthetic but also didn't want the "tech pack" look. This one is casual and stylish. It's my first rolltop bag, which at first i was concerned about quickly accessing things, however the big size zipper for the laptop compartment is pretty ingenious. Inside, I was relieved that the liner is a light gray color (although I've seen the black one with a black inner). This bag, when open, is deep, and therefore it's quite dark inside. i'd also like slightly more robust organization. Yes there are two open pockets and two pen slots, but it would be great if at least one of the small interior pockets had a zipper or velcro flap to keep things from falling out (like charging cord, extra battery, mints, earphones, etc) and hiding in the deep bottom. I may toss in a couple zipped pouches, but have to figure out how they stay near the top-- currently just have one carabiner-equipped pouch just hanging onto the top of the divider and it works well enough. Anyway, I realize the lack of robust organization results in a very lightweight bag, which is great too! I'm a big fan of this backpack.

really nice, simple backpack. straps were a little bit stiff at first and felt uncomfortable but eventually softened up. i personally wish there were more external zipped pockets and more organizational slots/pockets on the inside as well. wish the side pockets on the outside were big enough to fit a larger water bottle. also, the dark lining on the inside makes it hard to find things.

This bag is great! Solid materials as always from Timbuk2. It's just a tad small compared to other bags of theirs I've had in the past.

Received just yesterday and loved it at first sight.. I wanted a personal, one-for-all, backpack and is what I got with it As I wanted it customised, had to buy from US website, (live in Spain),so, unfortunately, had to pay doubl, because shipping fees and custom tax. (a bit too much). It would have been much cheapier if bought in an european site (please enable the customizacin so the purchase become more affordable). Anyway, as a product I would reccommend to anyone looking for an all purpose backpack. Congrats for a really clever product.

It's incredible how much good design makes an impact-- I transferred all my work items (laptop, charger, water bottle, notebook, random pens and papers) to the Tuck and it all fits in, the profile is slimmer, and the pack is much more comfortable to wear. I still feel professional looking even going in and out of meetings, and almost everything is perfect and easy to access. I'd love to see one more small pocket or divided section where I could keep business cards, my nametag, and/or perhaps my iPhone or keys for easy access. It's a little tricky to dig in for those things if I need them quickly on the go. Otherwise, this is a perfect "must buy" review!

I use the Tuck Backpack as my everyday bag: work, errands, farmers market, etc. I like the aesthetic of the bag. It's a great dark blue. The two outside zippers are really convenient for the things I often reach for (chapstick, ear pods, wallet). Could use a pocket or two on the inside though. The bag is lightweight, but sturdy and very comfortable on my bag. However, I find the inside to be narrow. It's not really made for things to be stored side-by-side, but rather to be stacked on top of one another. It's not ideal when trying to reach something at the bottom of the bag. So, I wish the bag, or at least the bottom of the bag, was wider. I also wish there was a buckle or snap to hold my laptop in place. Once I put it in its designated pocket, the weight of it leans forward, stretching out the pocket and concealing the main storing compartment. Overall, I like the bag, and think it suits my needs well enough for the sale price I paid. It was between this and a Fjallraven. I still wonder if I'd like the other better, but I'm fairly happy with my choice.

Loving the bag, plenty of space to fit in my MMA equipments etc. My only complain is that there does not seem to have any slots to fit in a sternum strap and the buckle feels flimsy.

I LOVE this backpack in every way - size, style, laptop section, cup holders, etc. It just needs ONE MORE small zippered pocket (anywhere - inside or out!) I am forever losing my keys, train pass, etc. because everything is in that one zippered outside pocket.

I got this as a gift for my husband and he loves it! We love the square bottom and keeps the backpack upright, the fold over flap really allows for a lot of stuff to be packed in, the laptop zipper is really convenient, and I don't think anything a beat a lifetime warranty! I think that some cons are the size of the security pocket is way too small and some more internal organization wouldn't hurt.
