My advice: buy these boots. I highly recommend. They are the perfect mix of function and style. They were super comfortable straight out of the box. I wore them for a morning hike and wanted to keep them on all day. Plus they are really cute for hiking boots--I love the retro look, the "1981" on the back, and the red laces with the hint of blue on the sole. They look great with skinny jeans or leggings. If you are looking for boots that are sturdy enough to seriously hike in, and stylish enough to stop off for a beer on the way home and look and feel great, look no further. These are your boots! True to size, I normally wear a 7.5 and that size was perfect. I also sometimes have trouble with my heel rubbing against the ankle seam of a hiking boot, no trouble here.

new favorite boots ! very comfortable and look awesome! they hardly needed any breaking-in, the toe was a bit snug at first, but that went away after they were worn a few times. i purchased them in "beeswax" and they did come with a pair of tan laces if you dont care the red ones. would recommend ! definitely worth the investment.

I am so happy with these shoes. I wanted an attractive, light weight hiker to wear in the winter when my Sorels seemed like a bit much. These shoes really fit the bill. I wore them for ten hours yesterday and took over 10K steps on concrete. They felt great all day.

Wanted to love these! Beautifully made and would last for years, but way too narrow for me, especially my bunions.

I couldn't love these more. When I first put them on, I was a little worried they might be slightly small. Once I adjusted the laces, my feet settled in as if I'd been wearing those boots for weeks. Immediately comfortable, and the traction is excellent without being bulky.

Purchased these boots as an alternative to wearing my snow boots around town. I found them to be true to size; I do not wear a thick sock with these, rather a thin wool sock. They work for what I purchased them for. They have kept my feet warm and dry and I can just wipe the snow and muck off of them.

These are great boots! I wear a 7 or 7 1/2 depending on the brand. I opted for 7 1/2 on these so I can wear thick socks, and they are a perfect fit. They were comfortable right out of the box. No break in period needed. I've worn them on both mild weather and snow hikes, and my feet stayed warm and comfortable in both conditions. They would be too warm for a summer hiker, but perfect for spring winter and fall hikes. I'm retiring my old boots and have a new favorite!

Got these for an upcoming trip to the cloud forests in Costa Rica during the rainy season. I'm not much of a hiker otherwise, so I picked these because they have some street style appeal too with the fun bright accents and rich leather. A little stiff straight out of the box, however wearing them around for a few days I can tell they will break in well, and already feel much better across the toe box. I'll have to report back after the trip I guess but even for daily casual wear I am happy I got them.

Wore these on a wet and hilly 4 mile hike right out of the box and these were perfect. Comfortable, supportive, good looking. All just right. My last pair of Merrell hiking boots were super comfortable and awesome, too, but my dog chewed up the tongue on one of them. I tried to keep going with the annoying chewed up tongue but this style gave me the excuse to trade them in. Just like my running shoes, I had to go a full size up for these. Wore them with thicker hiking socks vs. thinner since my heel is a little narrow and felt just fine.

LOVE these boots. First time I wore them I was walking around a winter festival all day in Northern Minnesota. They were comfortable, warm, and stylish. Worth every penny.

I wore these the day after I got them to break them in before I wore them for a hike. It was raining and I could dress casual at work, so they were perfect. I have a part time job as a cashier after my regular job as a teacher, so I had them on for 14 hours straight. They felt great all day, and I got lots of compliments on them. I can't wait to go hiking in them!

These felt comfortable right out of the box. I have wide feet, and high arches and these fit well, no tight spots, great!! Normally I'm a 7.5 to 8, and I ordered an 8. Rich looking leather, love these boots.

These shoes are everything you want comfortable from the start and they look good. They come with grey laces too.

I love the style of these boots. They remind me of ones I had in the 70's. They are sturdy and comfortable. I haven't tried out the waterproof feature yet, but they are warm when the temps are well below freezing.

I love the way these boots look and feel! I went a half size up, like I do with athletic shoes to make room for thick socks and they fit like a dream. There is plenty of room in the toe box for me and I have somewhat wide feet. The cushioning in the footbed and the heel have a nice bounce.The blue laces and detail steal the scene. I am very happy with this purchase.

Love these boots!! I would say they are a little wider than average in the toe box which was perfect with good socks!! Super comfortable right out of the box!

These boots were amazing and felt awesome immediately I bought and a half size up thinking I would need it for hiking but I’m returning them just to get a half size down. Other than that love them

Purchased these boots in an 8 which is my normal size in Sorels, North Face, LLBean boots and most street shoes. Sugarbush Waterproofs are a smidge tight, but not by a 1/2 size. Yes, they are narrowish, again not a full narrow. I wore them with light wool socks 2 days around town running errands, walking the dog 2 miles and the boots began to give slightly and conform to my feet. I tried them with mid weight wool socks and they continued a bit more. While I purchased them as street shoes for their warmth, support and traction on wet and frozen surfaces--not as hiking boots, for heavier wear such as treking and light hiking or with heavy wool socks, I would have to go up a half size.

I bought these shoes because I saw them styled with a great outfit at Athleta. I have gotten so many complements on them - they will be my go-to fall and winter style. I wasn't sure if they would look good on me - I shy away from high top styles - but they work really well and look cute with a legging and a wool sock. Totally worth the investment and after a couple of wears, they still look new.

Love love love these boots. They fit great straight out of the box with no need to worry about how you will have to "wear them in" like other boots. I wore them every day, 10+hours a day, while we were in Kenya for two weeks doing everything from bush walks, to game drives, to hiking (these boots have fantastic traction on slippery rocks). Can't recommend them enough. I usually wear a 9.5 and that's what I ordered in the Beeswax and they are true to size. I like them so much I am thinking of getting a second pair in Sunned. I also received a ton of compliments on the boots - quite stylish with the retro blue laces!

These retro hiking boots are very cool! They are functional yet stylish. I got them in black and they look great with jeans, leggings as well as hiking pants and shorts. I sometimes wear a 7.5 and sometimes an 8 depending on width. These run a bit tight in the toe box so I got the 8 and they fit great; although I did take a day to break them in and now they feel even better! I bought them for an early summer vacation to New Zealand.

Very comfortable and lightweight. I liked that they also came with grey laces. Should be a good cold weather boot.
