I had an earlier version of this bag and loved it. Bought this one because it had a few extra pockets and, more importantly, a better computer compartment. Unfortunately, the straps on this are not adjustable enough for my small frame and it hangs in the middle of my back. After less than a month of using it I have constant back pain from it. I am very sad about this as it is otherwise a great bag. If I were a few inches taller it would be perfect. Wish I could return it but having used it for almost a month it is no longer returnable I guess - at least the website won't let me return it.

I commute by train (with plenty of walking) so I need a backpack that will be comfortable and compact for crowded areas but roomy enough for my stuff/laptop (I refuse to carry multiple bags). On top of that, I tend to overthink these kinds of purchases....like I think I've seen every backpack on the internet kind of overthinking. This backpack is a bit on the small side for my work laptop (a huge, heavy dinosaur), but it works and is probably perfect for a normal, modern computer. The quality is really good...I ordered three backpacks so I could compare them in person. The other two were Sherpani and Tumi. All three of them were outstanding, but the Pacsafe was my pick. I was also surprised to find that the Pacsafe was so comparable to the Tumi (fancy and expensive brand) in both quality and design - I did not expect that. The Tumi definitely had more accoutrements (gold and leather), but the Pacsafe is really solid and sleek.

I just took this bag on a nine-day trip through Southeast Asia. It was the perfect size to hold everything I needed for long day trips in both the city and rural environments. In the city, I felt safe with this pack on my back in tight spaces like in the markets and cafes. I love the zipper anchor, which is basically a clip that keeps the zippers in your main compartment closed, as well as the ability to lock your bag to a table or chair leg. This bag doesn’t make you an easy mark in tourist areas. I ordered it in black and found it is discrete enough to blend in as a day pack without looking too touristy. It was sturdy and roomy enough to hold my Canon DSLR and an extra lens, a guidebook, my iPhone and iPad, a charging cable, a first aid kit, and a bottle of water. As for size, I am 5’5” tall and the bag fit me on the shortest strap settings. If you are any smaller, you may not find this bag comfortable as you will have no adjustment options. On the other end of the spectrum, my husband is 6’1” tall and he was able to carry this pack on his back on the few times I was tired of carrying it; he found it to be comfortable for his larger frame.

Zappos keep up the superior service. Ordered the Pacsafe city safe backpack and it arrived in a few days. The pacsafe is replacing my Lesportsac bag which is too small for traveling now unless I carry a separate gadget bag. The bag looks well made and has pockets for organization. I especially like the top of the pack opens wide and closes with a zipper, features that were hard to find. Can fit travel water pik and electric toothbrush, medications, passports and all the other stuff that didn't fit in my last bag. The cranberry is a nice color that doesn't attract too much attention but still adds that pop of happy color.

I love it so much! I’ve always loved colorful bags, and was hesitant to splurge on a “boring” black bag. That being said, I’m starting an academic job, and I wanted a comfortable and sleek looking backpack. The added anti-theft protection is very well thought out, and I think it will be great for being on campus at night and also for travel. The interior color is gorgeous, and the nylon is high quality. I’m quite pleased with the bag overall. My 13” MacBook Air does fit, but there’s a bit of maneuvering required to get the zipper closed around it. Not perfect, but I’m fine with it. The side pockets are generous and perfect for larger water bottles or umbrellas (which was a problem with the fjallraven kanken bag). Once again, Zappos is my absolute favorite way to try new things hassle-free, and I’m quite happy!

First, the item arrived USED. The straps had been adjusted, there were smudges all over the inside lining in both the pockets and main compartment, and it reeked of someone's perfume. I was disappointed this got past Zappos' Quality Control and was even plastic wrapped & sealed as though it was brand new. Not good! Second, I would have exchanged this for a brand new one, however, I have to agree with the petite reviewer who said the backpack does not sit flush against her back even with the straps adjusted to the shortest length. I am 5'0" and found the pack did not sit well on my back and need the straps to be tighter. Otherwise, it is a great backpack with awesome features. So if you are 5'4" and under, don't bother with this one.

I have to agree with other reviews- the locking mechanism on the side for the compartments is shoddy and cheap. I love PacSafe bags and this was the closest to a discontinued model that I've had for several years. But this model is just not up to snuff. Hopefully PacSafe will hear this feedback and return to the more solid and lasting mechanism.
