These boots are everything I expected for cute, functional winter boots. I live in Montana, so justified this purchase even though I have an old pair of Joan of Arctic's that are still going strong (just had to have a shorter style for quicker on-and-off, plus could not resist the blue). My old ones were about three inches taller and do not have the D-rings for laces, probably from 2012. I bring this up because in the old ones I was a "10" and in this style I had to go up to "10.5". Not a biggie because Zappos is so awesome, but save yourself a trip to UPS and just notch up 1/2. (I wear a 10 in Frye boots, SeeVees Standard Sneaker, Hunter Original Gloss boot, 10.5 in Sorel Major Pull On from 2015, and 11 in my Saucony running shoes - hope this helps.)

Cute and comfy boot. Exchanged the Joan of Arctic with fur for these with shearling and am much happier. I wear an 8 1/2 in street shoes and the 8 1/2 in this boot fit perfectly. There's room for a medium weight sock. They seem warm and not too clunky for a heavy duty snow boot

I really loved these boots but they are so heavy I can hardly walk in them. I had to go up a 1/2 size and my heels slipped when walking. Sadly I will have to return them.

Having read the reviews, I was not sure what to expect from these boots. I was glad I went ahead and ordered them, though, because they are great. Waterproof, warm, and comfortable. (tromping through foot-deep snow and my feet stayed dry and warm!) They feel true to size to me, but if you wear very heavy socks you may wish to go up a half size. I typically wear an 8.5, and the 8.5 fit me just fine with mid-weight wool socks. The liner is very thick and warm - I threw these on over thin cotton socks the other day and was out in 4 degree weather and my feet (which get cold very easily!) were toasty. The boots come up fairly high on my calf which was one of the reasons I chose this pair, and the shearling at the cuff definitely did the job of keeping the snow out of the boots. Some reviewers complained about arch support and the weight of the boots being too heavy. These are definitely actual working snow boots, not fashion boots. I rather like the way they look, but if you are looking for boots for style these are probably going to be heavier than you looking for. I don’t know that the boots have much in the way of arch support (again, snow boots), but I have high arches and found these boots very comfortable. The traction in the sole is great - walking on my very icy driveway was no problem. The boots appear very well made, and I anticipate being able to get a few years wear out of them, which helps justify the price tag. I would definitely recommend these boots!

Snuggly warm snow boot. Caramel/nectar is a great color. I ordered a few different sizes & kept the 7.5 which is my regular size in most shoes. The suggested half a size up would be way too clunky in my opinion.

I've been debating this purchase for weeks because of some of the negative reviews, but decided to see for myself. I ordered 1/2 a size larger than my regular shoe size. With thick socks they're not too tight or too loose in the toe box. I have large-ish calves and was worried that 1) they wouldn't fit, 2) they'd be uncomfortable, and 3) they make my legs look gi-normous. I'm happy to say that they fit just fine because of the generous gusseted tongue and had enough lace to spare, they are snug but comfy, and my legs actually look nice and balanced. Other reviews made negative comments regarding heel slips and the "pull" straps coming unsnapped and I would have to agree. However, I minimized the heel slips with thick socks and lacing the boot tighter in that area. As for the straps, they really are more decorative than functional, but I didn't find them necessary to use to get into the boots so I'm good with that. Loosening/tightening the laces are a breeze. They're heavy and a bit awkward, but they're real deal snow boot not ballet flats. The verdict: They're not perfect, but they are stylish and warm. Overall, I am pleased with this boot.

These boots are a bit heavier than I expected and more narrow in the ankle than I like but they're still great winter boots. Warm and comfortable

Bought these to replace my 10 year old keens. I have the Emilie Chelsea bootie in a 7 and a wedge bootie in a 7.5. I usually wear shoes in a 7 except my running shoes which are 7.5. I ordered these in a 7.5 and even with thick socks they're a little wide, especially through the calf, but not so much that I needed to return them. I just lace them up tight so they don't look quite as cute as in the picture. They're heavy but still walkable, and very warm!!! My only complaint is that the snap strap sometimes comes unsnapped if my legs brush against each other, but I have narrow legs and a narrow stride, which probably explains that.

These are really nice looking but unfortunately I had to return them. They are not comfortable at all. The rubber is very very hard and there was a spot on the back that kept hitting my heel. I ordered half a size up and they were comfortable as far as the size goes.

I love these boots! I wear size 7.5 in all other shoes, ordered a 7.5 in these and they fit perfect!

I have owned these boots for five years- the fur wore out very quickly but the cushion, warmth, and waterproofness never wore out. I had to stop wearing them because my heel wore through the back of the boot. I got compliments on these constantly and was always comfortable, even in sub-zero temps. If you tend to have cold feet- these are a lifesaver.

These boots are very comfortable for hiking as well as warm! I had them on all day in 20 degree weather and my toes never had the chance to feel cold. Highly worth the money and of course they are adorable boots. Adding another color next year! Remember you typically wear thicker socks so you may want to size up 1/2 size for that room.

Really comfortable and nice looking winter boot- keeps your feet warm in cold New England weather and they're completely waterproof; I did end up needing a 1/2 size larger than I usually do so recommend ordering 1/2 up

I love the updated version of this boot. The fit is significantly better than my old pair. They are more streamlined and less clunky.

I needed a new pair of snow boots (I live in Minnesota), and they have been amazing. They are a bit heavy but they are still easy to walk in and shovel snow, for example. The traction on these shoes are wonderful. Also, my feet stay warm. All in all, a very practical boot and purchase. You will not regret buying them.

This is a gorgeous boot. I am returning it simply because it is more of a boot than I think I need. If you are out in the snow, this is an excellent and beautiful choice!

Having lived in the Rocky Mountains for years, I've come to love Sorel boots. These do not disappoint. As far as style…. well they're snow boots and in my opinion, as nice looking as something so functional. I got the black and really like the way they look. The are comfortable and WARM. These boots also make me feel comfortable walking on slick surfaces. I can't yet attest to long hours spent in -0 temps but experience has shown me that Sorel boots do what they say. The shearling keeps snow out while looking nice. They have loops to help pull on, stay tied. I haven't needed to but the removable liner is handy to dry or to replace if worn out. I take 9.5-10 and with most Sorels… I purchased a 10.5 and wear with med thickness WOOL socks. Always wear wool for warmth.

The ultimate weather boot! Super cute, but also very warm and functional for snow days. Go with a 1/2 size larger to accommodate thicker socks. Just an all around beautiful and well-made boot.

While I have yet to wear these, they seem pretty warm. I ordered the shearling but purchased the fur boot liner to change up the look. I gave to say they appear a bit clunkier in the toe area and I'm not sure if I should have sized diennthoufh mostcrebiews dayvtgeyvdun shall orctrue to size. I think I'll get used to the wider toe, but wish that they were slightly narrower.

My daughter loved these boots at the store but she did not want the ones with the fur coming over the top so I purchased these. There seems to be a gap/large space where the calf sits in the boot which is likely great for many people but she has slender legs so they don't feel right to her...

I ended up exchanging these for a half a size larger. I read the reviews and saw that some people said these were heavy or have no arch support. I want to speak to this. First of all, Snow boots are not running shoes- so you're not going to have comparable arch support. Secondly they are supposed to be heavy- because they are snow boots! That said- these are awesome! They will take some time breaking into but they are comfy and warm and I can walk through several feet of snow just fine. The only thing that I would complain about is that I just processed an exchange because one of the snaps on the side broke. It's not a big deal and has no effect on the wear if the shoe but I figured if I spent all this money- I'd like them perfect. Overall I would highly recommend this boot. I tried the other Sorel boots (different styles) and prefer this one 100%!

Heavy but warm. Worth the extra bulk for warmer feet on those very cold days. Reasonably attractive for their function.
