I am a personal trainer. I have had these shies for a few weeks and so far so good. I walk about 10 miles a day.

I wear these shoes for work everyday, they offer a professional look yet are functional to wear on construction site appointments.

I use these shoes for most of my every day tasks. They are great for outdoor activities as well and comfortable after a short wear in period. I had a slight heel rubbing issue for first couple of days as well as a small pinching in middle ankle. Both of these minor concerns went away after the shoes were broken in a bit more. I am enjoying them thoroughly!

Got these for my husband . He couldn't be happier. He's a longtime TNF customer, swears by their footwear & of course clothing/gear.

I wear these shoes for everyday outings. I bought them primarily because they are waterproof and i needed a pair for winter. So far they are as advertised... Comfortable stylish and warm.

I read about this shoe in a hiking gear review article. I have to say that I am pleased. I am hard to fit because I am a 12.5 with a slightly wide foot. These fit me perfect. Great comfort during hiking and they are Excellent over rocks, etc. highly recommended!

Shoe is solid and comfortable on trails. Only downside is the thick rubber front which makes noise as you walk

This is the third pair of North Face sneakers. I do a lot of Rails to Trails and I use toe Clips so that I can use sneakers. I love that they are some what water Prof and keep my feet dry. I do mostly unpaved trails and they work well for me. One they are comfortable. Two they are light weight and three are water resistant. Oh by the way I never give out five stars on any type of review.

Too wide, I am a 13 W. But these are cool shoes if you have like really wide feet. TNF does make great footwear - unfortunately it's hard to find the right width.

I love everything about this shoe, but the ankle section wore out after about 4 months.

These shoes are pretty comfy for hiking shoes. However, even though they are Gore Tex they are by no means water proof. I was pretty disappointed. I did 2 tests, first was a short walk in the rain (light rain) about half a mile. By the time I got home my socks were went in the toe area. The second test (I do this with all my gear shoes, gloves, shells, jackets) is the bathtub test. I filled the tub up with a few inches of water just enough so the water would cover the toe box of the shoe. I then stand in the tub for 1 minute and walk / jump around for 5min. This simulates walking through a shallow creek / walking through wet grass / terrain. My ankles were wet all the way to my heel and my toes were wet as well. Its also been over 3 hours and the mesh on the shoes is still very wet so these won't dry fast at all (think wet shoes on a trek, you take them off at camp, in the morning odds are they will still be wet.). I've attached pics of the water level used for the tub testing and pics of my wet socks as well as pics of the shoes still being wet 3 hours later.

I bought this shoe for a recent backpacking trip in the Sierra, based on the review on Outdoor Gearlab. After decades of hiking in boots, the Ultra 109 is a game changer for me and I'll never return to boots. I like everything about this shoe, except its durability. The lugs and outsole show significant degradation after only 5 days & 45 miles with a light pack in the backcountry - all on trail. At this rate, they will be toast after 100 miles. Unfortunately, I can't see replacing them and will have to look for a higher-quality alternative that offers greater long-term value.

Great for hiking and rainy conditions. GoreTex doesn't last forever at some point both shoes started leaking. Wished they would last longer.

These shoes are very good--but they don't last. So sad. I got about 6-8 months of good, everyday use before the mesh breaks down and holes appear near the toes.

I loved the way this shoe fit and was comfortable and sized well. I like to be able to wiggle my toes around a little bit and I was unable to do that in this shoe. My toes felt slightly cramped, but the shoe is a good design and fit well otheewise.

To early to say but I'm hoping the toe guard last more than a year compared to the Hedgehog. These are fairly stiff and Imwould recommend breaking them in before any long hikes.

Shoes are of very high quality and comfortable to wear. Wish I could say the same about the shoelaces! The white threads inside them have started showing and because the white color stands out so I can't wear the shoes anymore. I have asked NF to send me a replacement since its been less than a year with minimal use that the shoelaces have started wearing out.

On my third pair of these shoes. Like the fit and feel for everyday use but had an
Issue with the front toe cap coming apart where it meets the fabric on both pairs.
Customer service was good the first time but not the second. Not a fan of the warranty process don't have time to send in my shoe. Someone In store should be
Able to determine whether the shoes are fixable or need to be replaced.

I have owned four pairs of Ultra 105s, and have loved them for day hikes and daily wear. When NF discontinued the 105s, the only logical thing to do was to get a pair of 109s. I was surprised to discover that the 109s felt much heavier on my feet. So, I weighed them and my old pair of 105s and discovered that the new 109s are a pound heavier...1/2 pound heavier per shoe! Yes, the new shoes are very comfortable, fit well, and provide great support. But I'm not happy lugging around another pound of unwanted and, in my opinion, un-needed weight. North Face should reconsider the description of 109s as being "performance/running" shoes.

It leaked after just 1 year. Had it replaced (just slightly out of warranty but they did it for me as a one time only. Hence 2 star instead of 1. Now it is leaking again after 2 years.
