I'm pretty disappointed with these, and will be sending them back. First of all, on the Zappos description it says circumference is 14", which I assume is top of calf size. On Sorel site (which I checked when the boots seemed too roomy) it says 15.5" - kinda big difference for someone looking for a slim boot. Also, they look more like rain boots than nice boots to me. I want something more stylish.

Just the boots I was looking for. I wanted something cute but I could also walk in the woods if I needed to, or treck around a city. Great grip and they don't make any noise

I agree with everyone that mentioned the calf width, these are strangely tight on the calf. I weigh 120 lbs, and do not have abnormal calves, but could only wear these with tights, not pants. I was am so disappointed to be sending these back.

Love these boots. I have the Joan of Arctic wedge and this boot is the same height. I don't care for the leather here- it's a little papery where the Joan of Arctic is a nice smooth leather. The calf size may be small for some but I found it to fit perfectly. The zipper is on the exterior and is a partial pull- meaning that it can be difficult to get your foot in and out of.

After reading the reviews, I was concerned that the boot shaft would be either too big or to small. I'm happy to report that they fit perfectly! My foot is size 11.5 so I got the 12. I have 16" calves - probably about average - and I tried them on with a thinner smart wool sock under lightweight skinny jeans. They fit over the socks and jeans with a little room to spare which makes me think I can wear a thicker wool socks & pants in winter. If I were to wear them with a skirt they'd be a little baggy, for sure. I'm a pants girl, though. Also, I love that the insoles are removable so I can put my custom orthotics in - I have plantar fasciitis and heel spurs and can't get by without 'em. They're stylish and have traction. I got the brown and would get the black if they weren't so spendy.

These are beautiful boots! They're an investment, but so worth it! Without fail, every time I wear them I get compliments.

If you don't buy one in every color as back ups - huge mistake. Perfection.

I love these!!! I needed something waterproof but dressy enough for the office as I do a fair amount of walking indoors and outdoors as part of my day at work. I already have a pair of Joan of Artic and Cozy 1964 and love them but they are too casual for my job. I am so glad I found these! However - Definitely size up. I wear a 9 in Joan of Artic, a 9.5 in Cozy 1964 and bought these in 10 and they fit perfectly. (For reference I'm a 9 in heels and 9.5 for most boots). It's a bummer Sorel's sizing isn't consistent across the board but with Zappos easy return/exchange process it's no biggie.

This boot is amazing. Been looking for a quality leather boot. I have a high arch and a sort of wider foot and can have difficulty finding comfortable boots. I had no problem getting my foot into this boot and wearing it all day! I typically am a size 8 1/2 shoe and always buy and size 9 boot because of sock room. 9 was perfect! The rubber sole was nice and "cushiony".

Cool boot! The fit was great except for the shaft which did not work for my thin calves. Just not narrow enough for me and they are going back. The shorter version however is staying.

This is a truly beautiful, well made boot. I ordered a medium width, but it feels tight with thin socks. I'll return for a bigger size.

I forgot to mention in my previous review, they are also super grippy and even on very wet floors, I had solid footing. They also don't make lot of noise because of the rubber bottom.

I was super excited to get these boots was so nervous becuase I have a difficult time finding boots that fit. I have sent back 1/2 a dozen before these. They are very comfortable and wide enough for my wide feet. The toe also has a lot of "head room" for my thick toes, LOL! I wear a size 10 and they are a little roomy but not too much. Just enough to be comfortable. I figure as they stretch out (and they will because they are an amazingly soft leather with suede)I'll wear thicker socks or put in a foot cushion. The suede is a different shade of grey than the leather but they are already cool/funky so I think it adds to the appeal. I am a teacher and on my feet a lot. The first day, I wore them from 6am until 7pm. Amazing! PURE LOVE!

These boots are amazing. They look super cool, fun, sporty. They are soft and comfy too. And knowing they are ok in rain and have the free on the bottom makes them great for winter.

These boots are gorgeous. They are true to size. The fit is perfect and can be worn comfortably all day. After getting the black, I had to get the gray also. Both colors are great and go with casual outfits as well as dresses and skirts. Very versatile. Love them!

These are fantastic. Comfortable right out of the box, and have worn them all day for many days without any issues. They go with everything. For reference, my foot is wide in the front, narrow at the heel, with a high instep.

I have a pair of Sorrell snow boots for years and I love them. I had no idea they made dressier boots until I found this pair. This is the most I've ever paid for boots. And I don't regret it. I wore these to a conference in Madison WI last week and walked all over the city in them (brand new). Very comfortable for all day wear and my feet didn't get hot. And they are very pretty. I received many compliments on them. One thing to mention is that the back part of the boots is suede, not smooth leather like the rest. This isn't apparent in the on-line photos. But that's fine with me.

I am always an 8, and wear an 8 in the Sorel Addington Chelsea short bootie, but in this boot I needed a 7.5. Even with thicker socks, my foot had too much room and slipped in the 8. All that said, this is a gorgeous tall boot - goes with everything I wear whether skinny jeans, culottes, leggings, skirts or dresses. They have a little attitude. Living in the snowy Colorado mountains, I need shoes with grip and warmth that can handle the elements, but that also has some style. These are it! I got the grey color and they go with everything. They are very well made and worth the price.

Great boots! These boots are very comfortable and stylish. The zipper on the outside along with the different texture leather on the back add subtle style. I typically wear a 10 M, that is what I ordered and they fit perfect. The leather is very nice, I expect that these boots will last years and years.

Love these boots. Super comfortable from day 1. Didn't do a lot of walking in them just yet but I suspect they'll be just fine. I will say that I do have a wider foot and didn't have any problems at all so maybe they're on the wider side? This is my 2nd pair of Sorel's from this line and have been super happy with both. Stylish but very functional and comfortable.

These boots are SO comfortable! Love that they're waterproof too for winter, we have lots of snow here in Utah and they're still cute while being practical. Love the color and the fit is true to size. LOVE!

Luv this boot. This is not your normal drab rain boot. Has a 70ties look. I got dark gray. True to size. Great for petite girls. Who says you can't look good in rainy weather? I hate wearing flat, loose fitting rain boots. Thanks to Sorel & Zappos we can wear this boot & look good no mater what kind of weather.. I'm so impressed, this is my first Sorel boot. Now I want other colors.

I bought these boots for a London trip. As fiction describes, London can be a dank place and yet...everyone walks everywhere. So I experimented wearing these all day, up and down stairs, jet-pacing to catch the tube. Yes, they provided height and comfort, but don't overdo it. The chunky heel and ribbed soles provide stepping security and the intermittent drizzle did not ruin the material. Stylish? Yup. I wore these rugged boots with opaque black tights, dresses and long sophisticated sweaters/jackets. Not too shabby. You can definitely be creative with this boot! Enjoy gals.
