I absolutely love the Salomon shoe that I have. Since this shoe adds so much to my walking, running and exercising indoors. I also walk for miles in this shoe. AWESOME shoe. BUT, this is not the original Salomon shoe because I have one on. This shoe featured here is a pair of shoes that don't lend themselves to long walking, they are soo very tight, I can hardly try them on. Back to Zappos they go!

This shoe had potential to check all the boxes for me--water resistant, light and supportive for trail running. And colors were bright, but attractive. As other reviewers have noted, this shoe tends to run large. I often take 8.5 athletic shoes, so a little extra room in the toebox is usually no problem. But another issue was that the left arch support seemed uncomfortable and out of place, while the right one was fine. I have never before noticed such a marked difference between the right and left shoe. I thought this might be solved by breaking in the shoes. I would have given them a chance, but with the laces tightened to the max, my heels slipped. It did not feel like the skinny, high tech laces provided enough tension. I have narrow heels, and with other shoes I have been able to secure the laces so my heel doesn't slip. I have never before purchased trail shoes online, because it is so difficult to find the right ones. But for Zappo's excellent customer service and return policy, I would not even attempt it. I have had good experience with Vasque, so will be returning the Salomans and ordering a pair of Vasques.

I tried on a different crossfire style in a store and the 6.5 felt large compared to past running shoes I have bought in this size. So when I found the color that I wanted from zappos, I ordered both a 6 and 6.5. This shoe seems to run a bit narrow, so although the 6 length probably would have worked fine, I ultimately found the 6.5 width was better. Besides the sizing, these shoes are great. The aggressive tread is really good for trails. My husband owns two pairs and he raves about them! I can see why - the cushion is excellent.

This is my 2nd pair Salomon Speedcross shoes and I'll wear out this pair too as I dig them so much. I've worn them for extensive durations of walking (both in distance and time) as well as for crosstraining and have found them up to the task for anything. Though I liked my last pair of pink Speedcrosses better, this color combos is good.

I bought these for a Spartan race. They did amazingly well in the 4 feet for mud for 13 miles. The grip is great, the ankles are snug and the toe box is idea but the laces are really tricky to get undone when wet. I had to go online to find out how to get my shoes off. It may be that mine are defective...

Absolutely love these shoes. They needed no breaking in and felt comfortable right away. Only issue that may cause problems for people is that the heels are a bit big, which works out well for me.

I work 12 hour shifts and always on my feet. These shoes are the best my feet never hurt and they last a long time so worth the money.

Just wore these shoes for the first time on a steep fire road hike. I usually slip and slide on the dry loose dirt worrying about falling. These shoes give me so much traction I could run up and down without ANY slippage. They are lightweight but sturdy. Very comfortable, and not bad looking.

While I've heard great things about this shoe, the heel seemed to be able to slip off my foot.

i wanted to like these - but they just didn't feel good on my narrow feet. They felt snug, stiff and unforgiving.
