This is my 2nd pair of these boots because they fit my foot so well. I need toe box space because I have Hammer toes and wear separators which widens my forefoot. I have a narrow foot otherwise with a low instep and a narrow heel. I also can't have too much arch support because it causes supination . I hope this helps you decide if these are right for you.

I needed a winter boot and this looked like my husband's last pair that lasted for 16 years. Felt good. I ordered a 9 med. I wear a 9 AA. This shoe laces let me pull it tight enough to use it in year around hiking however, another Salomon won my heart.

I swing between an 8 and 8.5, and in a size 8 these fit perfectly with a pair of padded hiking socks. The arch support was great; these actually felt more comfortable than some of my everyday shoes, even after hiking several miles! I hiked in these every day for a week, 4-6 miles each day, and didn't have a single sore spot or blister. The ankle support was very welcome on steep trails.

I love this boot. I have a very wide foot and usually have to order a 1/2 size larger to accommodate for the width. But this boot is plenty wide in my real shoe size and comfortable as well. They keep my feet dry in the damp and snow and warm in the cold temperatures of Northern Michigan. They are lighter than most boots yet sturdy. I would like a little more arch support, but all in all this is the perfect boot for me and my fall/winter/spring walking.

These boots were that "a-ha" moment you have when you try something on and you know it's just right. Not too heavy, good ankle support, just the right amount of arch support and good tread. Can't wait to get them out on the trail!

I wish I could modify my previous review in which I said a full size smaller worked. As soon as the hot weather hiking started, the full size smaller was a bit too tight in the toe box and I can't return them since I have worn them too much. I do wish there was a bit more cushion in the forefoot sole. I think I might be happier with the Quest Prime GTX - will try them out.

I wear a 7.5B in most shoes and boots but in this boot the 6.5 fit me. I tried the 7 but my foot was sliding a little. The 6.5 is tighter in the toe box for me but I think it will work out perfectly over time.

Shoe shopping is such a chore for me because of bunions and needed arch support so it was great to put these Salomon's on and have them fit right out of the box. I haven't worn them out in public yet as I'm still walking around the house continuing to test them out, but so far so good. They are wide in the toe and have nice arch support. This was my first experience with Salomon's and these were some of their more affordable styles. I'm not crazy about the color and the laces are super long, but that's easy to overlook when the fit is good. Thank you Zappos for letting me order dozens of shoes, test them and return them all with free shipping. It sure does takes away some of the pain involved in shoe shopping!

Needed no break-in period. They do run large, but I like a thicker hiking sock and this is ideal. The reinforcement over the toe is great as we hike a lot of rocky terrain. The ankle support is good without rubbing or compressing---I've had a complete ankle reconstruction, and I trust these shoes. They are very light, and I haven't noticed them getting too hot or too cold no matter the weather.

Great fitting and super comfy. My first pair of Salomons and I may be converting from Keen. Very durable, attractive styling and fits my foot perfect in every way.

These are keepers. I need a generous toe box and good arch.....these have both. They might run a little big because with my inserts they are perfect (and sometimes I have to size up for the inserts). I think they’re attractive (don’t get the “clown look” feeling at all, as per other reviewers, although the black protective rubber comes up over the toe), and like the colors. I also don’t find the tongue to be a problem (as per other reviewers). So for me, they’re the solution to a waterproof winter hiker.

Great pair of boots! But they run wider than some of the other styles of this same brand, so sadly I must return them.

Comfortable and well made. I have zero arches so I need to add an insert but that is normal for me. Wore these on a 36+ mile hike and they were perfect.

I liked this boot but it was too heavy for this trip (traveling by plane + long, summer hiking trip). I bought the 8.5 first because conventional wisdom is size up for hiking boots. I returned the 8.5 for an 8 (my normal size) and it was perfect. Liked the wide toe box, good arch support, style and color. Very nice boot but quite stiff and heavier than what I like to travel with (Ahnu). I ended up going with the Asolo (a brand I wasn't familiar with) because they fit really well and are quite lightweight, almost sneaker-like. Would consider Solomon in the future (for a fall/winter boot for hiking and snowshoeing).
