I bought it to replace my proton ar, completely destroyed after everyday use to work (I am a volcanological guide). The size S is confortable, giving me the right room for a second layer (165 cm tall)

Purchased in fall for winter backcountry high output as described. Fast packed the R2R2R a few weeks back and wore a 15# UL pack for both rims as temps were cold. Jacket started piling near shoulders!? Only 30km worth of distance. Not good to say the least. Great jacket as a mid layer with my SV shell but extremely fragile otherwise for intended purposes. I think warranty claim is in order

I heard so many good things about this coat and they all turned out to be true. I think it's my most versatile piece and I'll be using it everywhere! It's really warm and the fit is perfect.

Received this jacket from Arc'teryx as a warranty claim after my 2016 Proton suffered a chest pocket zipper failure. This 2023 version of the jacket has a much improved fit (slimmer), hood (comfort, adjustability) and chest pocket (zipper protection) design. Highly versatile jacket.

I've worn this jacket skiing and around town. It's comfortable and warm. I did have an issue with a pocket zipper.

I have a hard time taking this hoody off - perfect for a cool spring day. I'm 5'10, 175lbs and the fit of the medium is perfect for wearing with just a t-shirt underneath. Well engineered!

I bought the hoodless Proton jacket a few years ago and absolutely loved it. It's the perfect midlayer for activities in colder weather. I find it breathes much better than the Atom LT. Anyways I wanted to purchase another color this season but I was sad to find out Arc'teryx doesn't offer the hoodless version of the Proton. Please bring it back i beg you!!!

Very slim fit. I usually wear medium but if you want to wear any other layer underneath I'd recommend sizing up. Also my only complaint is that the front is very short, possibly a good thing if your using this as a mid layer.

So breathable that as long as it's not raining you'll be comfortable from 43 to 60 degrees. Cuffs are tops--I wish every jacket had the proton cuffs. It's a little tough as a mid-layer since the double hoods gets bulky.

I bought this a month ago to replace my long trusted synthetic insulation layer from another popular brand. So far I have used it for hiking, resort skiing, ski-touring, and I can't wait to take it climbing when the weather turns around. During low-output activities. it is very warm by itself with a merino base layer at around 5-10 degrees, it also feels very breathable when the activity gets intense. The DWR works great still, no need for an outer shell if it's only a little bit of rain/snow. Can't comment on the durability yet, but definitely feels more solid than my previous jacket. Overall a very versatile piece.

I bought this jacket specifically for a back-country touring ski trip out of the Wheeler Hut at Rogers Pass. Great jacket for skinning up the mountain. Wore it over a 200-weight Icebreaker top, negative -5 to -10 Celcius outsides. Fairly strong wind and some light snow during our trek. Jacket was great. very breathable. keep me protected from wind, I did not get too cold on our rest breaks, or too hot on our uphills. Put on my gore-tex shell overtop for the downhill. Perfect combination.

I bought this jacket a couple of months ago because I wanted a light, yet effective jacket that I could take anywhere and in multiple conditions. I am from Florida, so I don't see weather below 35 degrees (and even that is rare). I recently went to Mt Rainier and hiked up multiple trails. The weather was around 26 - 41 degrees Fahrenheit with some wind here and there when I would hike through less woody areas. I literally actually opted to take off this jacket and just hike with a thin sweater because I actually felt TOO warm while hiking. This jacket does an excellent job and offloads unnecessary heat, but it still kept me too warm in 30 degree weather. That is because I was actually doing work climbing up the side of the mountain, but I never expected this jacket to be such an excellent product. I can't recommend this jacket enough!! Size wise, I am an XL in basically all brands, but I opted for a XXL in this jacket because the XL fit a bit too trim for my own comfort, but it did not hinder my own ROM. I just wanted something a bit roomier. A couple notes though. This jacket is water RESISTANT not water proof and it is wind RESISTANT not wind proof, so you will feel a little bit of wind if it is quite windy, and as long as it isn't pouring, you should be okay with the water protection. I spilled water on my chest with this jacket on and all of the water either bounced off or just beaded up on the jacket, but the jacket did not absorb the water. If you need something wind and/or water proof, the beta is the way to go. All in all, although this jacket is designated as LT I do think it is pretty hardcore and goes above and beyond its intended purpose when you need it to. This is truly an excellent product. You can use it as an everyday jacket even in 60 degree weather or you can put it to work in the alpine under freezing temperatures and it will perform just as well.

I'm loving this jacket. For how light this jacket it's pretty warm as an insulation layer. It's great to wear under a shell.

Proton LT is simply perfect, winter protection, and amazing mid layer for outdoor expedition. I do have the proton and the atom, both top pieces of my Arc'teryx collection. Atom is warmer than proton, but proton gives more adaptability (from high to low intensity activities). Proton it looks very smart, full of details.

Bought this for my husbands birthday and he absolutely loves it. He wears it to go out to casual dinners, to walk the dog, and to play pickle ball. He lives in this jacket regardless of what weather he's in because the jacket is warm and breathable.

I bought this specifically to be the "soft shell layer" for an upcoming ice climbing trip. I'd been researching all kinds of various approaches to layering for ice climbing specifically, and somewhere ran across a recommendation for the Proton Hoody. I wasn't disappointed whatsoever! I spent a week in the ice park, including some brutally cold days, wearing a merino wool base layer, a mid-layer from another company, and the Proton Hoody. Apart from occasionally putting on a puffy belay parka, that is all the warmth I needed all week long! The Proton was by far the most versatile piece of upper body gear I took on that trip.

This jacket is amazing for everything. From wearing to work, to touring on the uphill or wearing as a mid layer at the resort. Breathes super well, the fit is great, and you lose no mobility in it. So good I have 2.

Bought this online a couple of weeks ago and have worn it plenty since. So happy with it! Size medium was a bit tight so decided to go with large which fits me nicely being 185 cm and 85 kg. Time from order to delivery was incredibly fast! I am looking forward to my next purchase already.
