Customer Reviews Patagonia Tech Web Belt (One Size)

This is the second Patagonia belt that I have purchased from Zappos. The original version was twice as thick as the one they are selling now. The thick belt works great, but the thin belt is no worth purchasing. Patagonia has lowered the price for the new thin version. Zappos still charges retail.

I bought one of last year's belts and loved it. The new ones are simply not the same. I concur with the reviews from January 2016: light weight web material with the buckle now placed backwards to how it was designed. Perhaps somewhere along the line from design to fabrication, someone decided to make it more cheaply. This belt is a loser if you want something functional. I shall make it a point to avoid this brand in the future. I feel cheated like a bait and swap.

I purchased this to replace an earlier version of this belt which was lost on a trip. The new design is made with much less rugged materials, making this version non functional as a belt. They also changed the location of the tag to be outward facing when the belt was worn, which is tacky and something that I would expect from a so called life style brand, not Patagonia which has traditionally been more interested in truly functional equipment over wearing a label for bragging rights.

I own four of these belts (gray, black, yellow, blue). They are the most comfortable belt I have ever worn due to the ability to adjust the size to exactly my pants/waist (not to a pre-punched hole). The belts have never slipped. I have to actively loosen them.

I purchased this belt quite a while ago, and it doesn't disappoint. Holds firmly, fits comfortably, and the color is great. I've used this belt to hold up my pants (obviously) and lash items to my daypack. Love the multifunctional belt!

Patagonia has updated the material they use for this belt. The new material is much thinner than it used to be, and therefore the buckle does not engage. The belt will not stay tight.

Updated from earlier review: Patagonia either changed/reversed the buckle on this belt or the manufacturer made all of them wrong. The new models have the buckle reversed from a year ago. Patagonia dot com actually has awful reviews stating the design change does not buckle well and slips. I concur. The new design is poor. Patagonia also suggested buckling it reverse (so the label faces outward) to get the buckle in the same direction as the older belts. Simply put. New model is a bad design and does not hold as well as old design. I sent this one back.

Belt does not maintain tension whatsoever. The buckle teeth are useless as a friction detent. Shame on you Patagonia.
