I love these boots! I wear a 91/2 10 in women's and I got these boots in a 9 and they fit just how I wanted nice and snug but not too small I just love them!

I always wanted to get Hunter boots but felt they were too big on my skinny calfs! Problem solved with these refined types! They look elegant and not bulky at all! I cannot wait untill next time it rains so I can rock them out. I am very pleased.

I really like these boots. I had to order from the Hunter website because Zappos did not have the black. I wear 7½ in Nike tennis shoes, 8 in sandals and 7 in Uggs. I ordered a medium in these boots (up to size 7). I had heard that they stretch with wear and did not want my feet to swim in the larger size (I like my shoes a little tighter). They do fit snug (especially with the Hunter boot socks) but not too small. I definitely recommend getting the boot socks if you are wearing them during the colder months (I live in ohio so we get lots of rain/snow all winter). They make your feet lots warmer and the boots more comfortable. The boots are a little hard to get off if your feet have sweat in them at all but socks make them easier to remove. I love the style of the refined (I am 33) for my age. I am not a big fan of the curled up toe. The boots look very classy on and definitely serve their purpose. I am trying not to buy another pair!

I wear 5.5 shoes and have kind of narrow feet. Size 5 fit perfectly. I loved everything about these boots except the red and white Hunter logo tag. Sadly, the boots developed a hole after 3 years. I replaced them with another pair of refined Hunter boots that have a matte finish and all-black logo tag. Hopefully they last longer!

Great boots for narrow feet (I wear 5.5 and the 5 fit perfectly), but they developed a hole in them after only 3 and 1/2 years. Too bad because they were comfortable, functional, and stylish (except for the ugly red/white logo).

They were tight.

I agree that you must have skinny calf. Mine is 14 1/2 inches at widest portion and they were tight, and I have average calves. But the worse fit occurs at the ankle like other reviews have mentioned. It looks like boot caves in and buckles the the junction of calf and foot. The other fitting of boot is sleek, but wouldn't want wear this boot for long. Trying to get boot on was hard, but to get boot off, I had to have husband pull on it from opposite direction ! No boot is worth that struggle just to get it off. I like the shine, but in another way, it looked cheap which it is not. Since it doesn't rain very much in California, I am even debating whether to try the original HOG which is roomier than the Refined HOG. I like the sleekness of the boot front of the HORG rather than the HOG. Sorry, but I am returning.

This is a very "handsome," good looking boot. I first ordered my regular size, 8. They were too big and wanted an 8 1/2, but they don't make theses boots in half sizes. Next I tried a size 7, which I kept. From heel to toe, it fits fine, but, the width is a little cramped and the shaft of the leg, a little narrower. They are not as comfortable as I had hoped for but comfortable enough to keep. It doesn't rain much, here, in Southern CA., so, I'll deal with the slight discomfort. They come right up to my knee cap and they're perfect for splashing around in rain puddles and look good with work clothes. I've always wanted knee high rain boots that I could wear to work, so, perfect!

I am originally a size 8 in most shoes. I ordered the 8 and had room to spare. They fit comfortable with a little room. The shaft height was too tall. I then ordered the 7 which had a perfect shaft height. The length of the shoe was perfect put the width on the top of my foot was too tight. If you have super slim feet I would say you could size down and be ok but otherwise you would want your regular height. I'm 5'2" and the shaft height goes up an inch and a half at size 8 and it was just too tall for my little legs. Otherwise I would have kept the 8. Also, I wouldn't say it's the most comfortable shoe. It's heavy and stiff. But it sure does look cute!

I wear a size 7 in almost all shoes, and in the past a size 7 in the regular Hunter wellies has been big and roomy. I was very surprised then to discover the size 7 in the Hunter refined gloss ran small. The back of my heel constantly and uncomfortably rubbed against the back of the boot. I returned it for a size 8, which is a little roomy, but they don't come in half sizes so this was my best option. Still, totally worth it. This is a gorgeous boot in the refined gloss black, and I can definitely wear it to work as a nicer corporate option.

Cute and functional. Looks great with jeans and keeps feet and lower leg dry. Added shearling insoles for greater warmth and comfort. Somewhat heavy, but that’s rubber for you. Sleek design is fashionable and gets the job done.

Nicely styled boot. As other reviews have noted, the calf is very slim and does not fit my 13 inch calves w/slim jeans even though they state it is 15 inch diameter. Also difficult to remove because the calf is so tight. Sadly they went back.

Well against my better judgment I didn’t order the boots for those of us with meaty calves! Lol. Returning them for the adjustable ones. Other than that they were lovely! The glossy navy is gorgeous

I originally bought the classic style( not refined) because everyone said refined was slim etc.. since I weigh 180 pounds at 5’5 I knew I wasn’t slim. But the boots were huge on my legs. Go by the size of your calves not your body size. You might be a slim girls with chunky calves.. get out a spring and ruler and measure your calves. So now I have the glossy refined and they are a perfect fit. I did size UP to a nine from an 8 1/2 because I wanted to wear thick socks. My only complaint would be at first the boots felt very heavy but after wearing them I got used to them and they are fine.

Cute, sleek, not super comfortable

I am 5'9", 160 lbs, and have average size legs and thin calves. I wear a women's 10. I ordered the 10 and a 9 to try both, given that a lot of people said they run large. I wore thick poly Athleta leggings and tried the 10 on and my leg got STUCK in the boot! I panicked. My calves are small. This proves that the shaft of this style is very narrow. I also didn't like the feel of the rubber creasing into my shin as I walked....returning them tomorrow.

Loved the sleek style so much but these def run slightly smaller and slightly more narrow than the original Hunter boots.

These run incredibly small! I ended up exchanging for a full size up from my normal size and those were perfect. Definitely order larger than you think you need!

Love the contemporary style of these boots! The boots are very comfortable except for one part -- when you walk the boot shaft bends and kind of hits your shin. I expected this to a certain degree but after walking around in these boots all day my shins were a little tender which I didn't realize until I put the boots on again the next day. Still didn't stop me from wearing them, however!

I ordered these boots in a 7&8 as I normally wear a 7.5. The size 7 was too small and the size 8 fit my foot well. I had to return both pairs because the shaft was too long (16.5 inches, I'm 5.5) and was digging into the back of my knee when I walked and particularly when going up or down stairs. The ankle area was not a good fit for me in these boots, I have slim ankles and calfs. I have ordered a size 8 Hunter original back adjustable gloss instead because the shaft on these is 16 inches. I'm hoping that the half inch shorter shaft will work and the size 8 isn't too big in this style. I have slim calfs so I'm hoping that I can set them to be the same width as the Hunter original refined gloss I returned. I'll add to this review once the Hunter original back adjustable boots arrive.

My daughter loves the boots. A little pricey when there are so many out there on the market but she does wear them all the time.

I have the original hunter boots but wanted a dressier pair for work and these are it. They are a much simpler cut than the original. The gloss is not too shiny. They are a bit narrower in the foot and shaft than the original and the shaft height is a little taller than the original. They seem to have less arch support than the originals. Overall comfy boot though I wish they had a wide option for my wide feet.

I barely wore my Hunter boots, cleaned them off and put them back in the box after each use. However the top has bubbled and one boot has cracked. I called Zappos and they will not replace. Extremely disappointed to pay that much for this brand and have them split and bubble in less than 15 wears.

considered keeping them but wanted them for "dress up rain boots",( as opposed to Muck boots), and although they are more streamlined and glossy than other rain boots, maybe more than Hunter's regular rain boots,(dunno, never tried), they were not streamlined enough for the task I had in mind. I didn't expect them to have arch support, and they don't.

Beautiful boots, but very snug over the top of the arch. They were so tight on the tops of my feet that I had to take them off after an hour just to let my feet uncramp. Also no arch support.
