I bought these for my lab who loves to walk in the snow, but whose pads freeze when the temps drop to single digits. I carefully measured her paws and ordered a size 5. They fit perfectly and, after a few goofy moves (!), she took to walking in them really quickly. We went for a 30 minute walk in the snow and they stayed on and seemed to work great. On the drive home from the park, I noticed she was licking her paws in the backseat and when we got home, I found blisters on both sides of her front legs where the Velco fastens. Also, the boots are NOT water proof or even water resistant in snow and her feet were soaking wet. I called Zappos customer support the next morning and they were GREAT, telling me that even though the boots were worn, I could return them for a full refund. Zappos is the best...the Ruffwear Trex boots not so much.

These are excellent shoes/ boots! My dog wears them every day to protect his feet from a variety of surfaces including hot pavement in summer and sand and rocks year round. The Velcro straps make them easy to put on and stay on. They hold up well with all the use. Also own the taller boots for winter. Have had great experience with this brand.

I purchased these boots to protect my 70# Weimaraner's feet while hiking in places with sand burrs, etc. as I can't just carry him. He also wore the socks. Even though he has worn hiking boots previously, he does continue the boot dance for the first 5 minutes every time which is hysterical. These stayed on very well and have good traction. I like the breathable mesh top as I worry about him overheating. Just as you would want to stop and dump sand out of your mesh shoes before walking much further, these also need dumping after walking on the beach to prevent irritation. These will also work great to protect his paws from hot pavement! I have found that many of the lesser brands are very frustrating and don't stay on or wear out quickly. These are up for the task!

These shoes have changed my tripaw dog's life! We have been going to obedience training and most of the flooring at the class is super slick tile. I tried everything (grips for her toes, socks with rubber on the bottom, bringing a rug, etc.). Nothing worked! She would slip and fall on the tile every time and it was causing a lot of anxiety. I was even considering pulling her out of the class because it was so stressful to her. When I put these on it took her a minute to get used to them but then she was walking no problem! I actually cried when she VOLUNTARILY stepped onto the tile - something she had never done before. I usually had to end up carrying her (she is a 50lb black lab mix) and it was stressful for both of us. These shoes have changed everything and I would recommend them to anyone. The trainer even commented on how much these shoes helped and was asking me the brand so she could recommend them as well. Just make sure you measure your dog's paw and allow them some time to get used to them.

I've used these boots with multiple dogs. Overall I think these are a necessary product because eventually you're gonna need them for one reason or another especially if you're out on the trail. Fact is we need to protect or four legged friends feet too and these are a great way to do it. Preventing lacerations and cactus needles is the name of the game. Besides, it makes your dog look cool and shows you care. Also, you might even use them to prevent biting bandages you might wanna stay on the foot. Works with or without socks.

I was really hoping this would work. My dog tends to drag his feet while we're on a walk so by the time we get half way done he's bleeding from at least one paw. I got these in hopes to make this stop but they're not big enough for my little one. The 3.25" is sadly not Great Dane size. Hopefully the brand will make some bigger.
