I am an Alegria hoarder! I must have two dozen pair and have been wearing Alegrias for years and years. The Jemma is the most adorable style yet! However, and this is a huge however...Algeria, you need to get your act together...the back strap is too short! First, I ordered a 40, and while the shoe fits perfectly, the strap is so short, that it leaves about an inch of sole left sticking out the back of the heel, which looks awful! So, I then ordered a 39, and it fit perfectly, too, even in the heel area, however, the strap is so short, it doesn't even begin to reach around to be able to secure it! What? Really? I am so disappointed. I think I will take the 39 to a shoe cobbler and see if he can lengthen the strap. Otherwise, there is no way I can keep either pair! Oh, and if you are new to Alegria, you may need to order two sizes to see which one fits best...and the sizing is different for each style, which is crazy, but that's just the way it goes. I usually have to order 2 sizes of a new style just to see which one fits.

I am returning these adorable shoes. There is no way these fit a 9-9.5 foot! they are so short. So, I ordered the next size up, a 40, thinking they would fit fine. But they have made the back strap so short, that once you fasten it, your heel is more than an inch in from the back of the shoe. It really looks stupid to have the sole of the shoe sticking out that far. I have worn Alegrias for years and years and have troubles with having a 39 or a 40 fit me. You would think all their shoes would be the same size across the board, but they are definitely not. It's always trial and error with them. With this particular style, they need to change the style completely, not starting that back strap until a little farther back? I'm not sure what would work, to be honest. But I have to return the size 40, as well as the 39, because change the style is just defective. And it's so darn cute, I'm sad!!

I have truly awful feet. Lots of issues. Alegria is my miracle brand. I honestly cannot believe how comfortable these shoes are. I put them on and they fit like they were custom made for me. They are by far the most comfortable, best fitting, barefoot style, summer shoe I have ever owned. I love them so much I immediately bought a second pair in the same color to save for later, because I know these are going to sell out fast. I wear a size 8 shoe and the 38 fits perfectly. I also wear the Belle (Mary Jane) and Pesca (fishermen sandal) in this brand. They were both my favorites, until I put the Jemma's on. I have been wearing them non-stop since I took them out of the box. Perfection! I bought the cognac and although it is a nice neutral color, I would also love them in Almond and other light colors, and I hope Alegria is listening! Buy them. Don't hesitate. You will love them.

I wanted a closed toe sandal to wear to work this summer, so decided to try Jemma. Very cute and comfortable from the moment I put them on. I have hallux rigidus (painful big toe condition)and need a rigid sole. Since discovering Alegria, I now own 7 pairs. Alegria never disappoints me!

I love these shoes. My feet are quite narrow so they don't fit snugly; however, I added a "foot petal" insert to each and they are very comfortable. Look nice with skirts, pants, capris, and even shorts. I'm usually a 7-7.5 and these are 37's.

Awesome comfort, stability so your foot does not roll or tilt side to side, moderate arch support, well cushioned, great for heavier people who need the extra support.

Love this shoe! Perforated leather gives a little ventilation, adjustable instep and ankle straps. I wear a 42 in Alegria closed shoes; however, the 41 fit great. Super cute Mary Jane look with pants & capris. These are lighter weight & comfortable for walking. I got the black to go with everything, but I'll bet the red is awesome too!

These are a bit narrower than Paloma, and rubbed a little. Alegria do stretch out, but I didn't want to take a chance, so returned them.

Love these shoes. They feel secure, great arch support, great comfort and easy fit with the adjustable strap. I put them on and forget about them all day (until I get compliments on my great shoes). LOVE Allegria, LOVE Zappos!

Comfortable right out of the box. I wear a 7 in casual shoes and the 37 fit just right.

I have numerous problems with my feet, so I am grateful to have found Algeria. I have several pairs. I love the styling of Paloma. However, as someone else mentioned, the Velcro straps are shorter than usual. I fastened them as far out as possible and was able to get a comfortable fit. I'm hoping the shoes will stretch a bit. The leather on the hickory Paloma was somewhat stiff --more so than on any other Algeria I've worn. The inside seemed rough , so I was concerned about being able to wear the shoes without socks or hose. I wore them around inside the house off and on for a couple of days, after which I decided to keep the shoes. Algeria brand shoes are high-quality, well-designed and well-made shoes. They're well worth the money.

I ordered these for my mom because she kept commenting on how much she liked a pair she saw recently. I honestly don't like the style at all but at least found this pattern the most tolerable. They look cute on her and she loves her new Jemmas!

Alegría Jemma is a great, comfortable shoe, I have it in red and it perks up whatever I've got on. It works with jeans, pants, and capris...and most likely a casual dress or skirt. I wear it barefoot but occasionally will wear a "toes only" footie.

What a great shoe! Very comfortable and true to size....did not need any break in time! These are my second pair in this style.

Love love love this shoe. I have many pairs of Alegrias, and this is one of my very favs. I bought them and was headed for a hair show where I would be doing a lot of walking and standing. Pulled them out of the box and wore them both days.......no breaking in what so ever!!!

Lets just say I have moderate foot problems. Finding a comfortable shoe has been a quest this past year. I have metatarsal pain (need a stiff sole, rocker type best), need good arch support (have high arches) and I have no fat padding on my feet (i.e. my tendons are very prominent). The only shoe I have been wearing this past year are my ABEO R.O.C.S. tennis shoes, which have been a life saver for my foot. I have ordered multiple shoes from Zappos and one after the other I had to send them back....till this one! They are not perfect (the front of the shoe looks clog like), but they are comfortable, great arch support, no pain over my metatarsals when I walk, and the metal buckles don't rub my feet like some other similar shoes. I am very happy with them and plan to order another pair in one of their fun patterns. Thank you Zappos for dealing with my many returns, you have a customer for life!

These shoes are great. I was able to wear them immediately and they are so comfortable. I have trades my Dansko, Birkenstock, cobb hill, Echo, Teva, etc. for Alegria. I love all my alegria shoes and Zappos has the best selection.

These are my second pair of alegria shoes. They are so comfortable - just the best if you are on your feet all day and also need stability. The fit was exactly the same as my other pair. I didn't have any problem with the back strap being too short - which I worried about due to another review. I selected the Hickory color and the leather is just beautiful. The stitching in gold is immaculate and matches the rings that adjustment straps pass through. Even though I already own a pair of alegria (pesca) I was impressed with how well-made these shoes are and how great they fit right out of the box. They are very cute and will go with most of my wardrobe. The only thing that surprised me a bit was that they are very clog like when looking down at them, meaning that they seem wide across the toe in appearance. The pierced leather relieves the large area of leather there and is a nice design element, but I guess I thought they would look thinner from seeing them online. Not a problem for me though, because I do like clogs and comfort is paramount. I plan to buy another pair in a different color.

these are so cute AND comfortable! I own a few Alegria shoes and like them all for their comfort. bought these in pewter and love the way they dress up capris or skirts and still feel so good. the fit is true to size, the Velcro straps were just right for me too.

Love this shoe. It is very attractive and very comfortable and fits my foot (wide toe box needed but then the heels never fit. With this style, great fit and incredible comfort. I'm going back for a second color in this style. VERY terrific shoe.

I really liked the looks for this shoe,but it did not come in wide. Was hoping that the toe area would be wide enough for me, but it wasn't. So for the reason I am returning.
