I purchased these water boots because I go hiking in areas with rivers, e.g. Zions Narrows or Subway. The shoes were only available in size US 10 (and some smaller sizes). I'm a 9.5. However I was comfortable getting the size 10 because I knew I would be wearing thin wool stockings covered by neoprene stockings to keep my feet drier and warmer (the feet still get wet but the wool helps keep them warmer and the neoprene reduces the amount of water slosh. These boots performed incredibly well walking through the rivers. They worked as hoped, they were comfortable as hiking boots and most importantly the grip was exceptional on wet and dry rocks. While I would slip if I placed my foot on a very mossy rock, not easily seen in running water, the boots sturdiness also protected my foot when it slipped from the mossy rock. Great water boots. I noticed that the outfitters in the area carry this very brand as their water boot rental.

Worn in Zion National Park to hike the Narrows. Shoes performed great! The ankle support is key!

These are technical boots built for the demands of outdoor activities like canyoning (canyoneering) and other sports where you're in the water and need great foot and ankle protection, extreme grip on rocks or canyon walls and warmth. These boots are discontinued by Adidas and are comparable to the Five Ten Canyoneers (also discontinued since being bought by Adidas). With inventory almost gone everywhere else, I snagged an extra pair of these from Zappos before their inventory is also out. Get them while you can. Alternatives if your size is out include the Bestard Canyon Guide and Astral Rassler or Hiyak.

I bought these sneakers for the comfort & style. I previously had a red/black pair about 4 years ago & loved em....I do not water raft or use them for their intended purpose. I am a city dweller who likes them just for how they fit and look. GREAT SHOE!
