I have taken these shoes on three different hikes. Totaling maybe 9 miles. I go climbing often, and carry anywhere from 15-30 pounds of climbing gear. I also weigh about 150 pounds. I share all this to give context about my review. These shoes are SUPER comfy, and provide great support. Not only great support, but amazing grip! You could probably get by climbing in them around 5.6. 5.7 if you're a super strong climber. Anything 5.8 and above, use your climbing shoes because the toes are thick and I personally would want my thinner climbing shoes for those. The only complaint I have in these, are do not drive in them. I drive a manual, and there is so much rubber on the bottom that it took some adjusting to shift gears. Hope this helps your purchase :-)

Great shoes, but go a half size or so up.

tech shoes have come a long way in the past 10 years and these are a perfect example: light, versatile, comfortable at a decent price. Most comfortable shoe i own (tried a couple of other La Sportiva approach shoes). cheers!

Bought these because a guide company told me I would need either these, the TX4s, or 5.10 “Tennies” for an upcoming trip. I have wide feet and read that these have a wide toe box. Luckily for me this is true. I like the comfort, the grip, the lacing system, and the (loud) colors. My go-to shoes for most activities are Lone Peaks but these are keepers. I expect to use them on the rocks obviously but also for hiking and some trail running.

Great shoe! This shoe fits exactly like my sneaker size. My old Solomon’s that these replaced were 10 and these were 10 as well. Perfect fit. Great performance as I’ve come to expect from la sportiva. I got the shoe in orange and the accents on the sole are lime green. The laces and logo are yellow. It looks good but the picture makes it look like the sole accents are yellow which is not true.

These were a buy based off of Climbing Magazine gear review for approach shoes and easy climbing. These are perfect hiking shoes and I don't think I will ever wear boots again!! If you are just doing day hikes or short hikes and some bouldering I highly recommend!! I even use on my indoor wall!

These fit the same at the TX4 but with a mesh upper. Size them like a sneaker. I wear a 12 in dress shoes, but a 12.5 sneaker. The 12 in this shoe was just a tad short for my foot. Overall a great feeling shoe. I’ll be buying the TX4 for the extra durability of the leather upper. Will be used for backpacking, scrambling, hiking and very light climbing (restricted by my abilities, not the shoe).

Perfect fit and size. I am especially grateful for La Sportiva TX3 narrow heel cup along with a wide toe box....perfect combo for me. The shoe is super solid on sloping rock as the shoe feels like part of my foot. Along with rock climb approach routes, I also will use them for mountain biking. No other shoe fits like the TX3 and they breathe really well. A home run for the La Sportiva approach shoe lineup.

This shoe feels well-made & durable, but the rigid medial post (arch support bump) is placed a little too far down closer to my heel, creating some discomfort. Not sure if this would be resolved with extended wear, but decided not to take the chance. The fit is true to size, perhaps slightly snug.

I just received these shoes. They feel good here in and around the house. They do have great grip. I haven't used them for a climb yet. Toe box provides good tactile input, which is great for going up. My only concern is coming down a steep approach route and whether or not my toes will bang against the front of the shoe. Plenty of room and comfortable on flat land.

This shoe is known to be somewhat wide for a La Sportiva, but is not wide enough for me. Nice shoe.

These are approach shoes, not hiking shoes. That means the the shoe is quite rigid. For me they felt too rigid.

I have a high arch and a wide foot. In a running shoe I typically purchase 4e widths when available. Finding an approach shoe that would fit has been a challenge and I am thankful that Zappos provided me with a wide selection to choose from. Of the dozen or so pairs that I tried these were the least accommodating for my arch although they just wide enough if I went up a half size (which I had to do with every model I tried). Once I laced these up there was just barely enough shoestring to tie a simple knot and the spread between the eyelets was the widest by far.
