This is Vasque's idea of a modern sneaker-type hiking shoe. In many ways, it works. It looks good, has good support and the traction appears like it would be good as well. Unfortunately I had to return mine because of the width. I ordered the wide but, like many running shoes, wide fits now more like medium used to. I do not know why these companies think our feet are getting narrower each year. Mine are not.

This boot is fantastic, no breaking in...comfortable on the first wear. Very lightweight so your feet don't get tired. I have Plantar Fasciitis and I put my orthotic inside without having to remove footbed. I walk a lot in these and they are super!

I wear a size 13 wide and always have difficulty finding my size footwear with a good fit especially since I use doctor prescribed orthodics. I was vacationing around Rocky Mountain National Forest and my first hike with my old boots left me with sore feet. I went online that day and ordered two Vasque pairs from Zappos. They were shipped to where we were staying before our next big hike. I tried both on found this one to be just what I was looking for and returned the other pair. My orthodics fit perfectly and the boots fit like a glove. I had no problems on our remaining hikes in the Rockies. Even the return experience was painless. Thanks Zappos, I'll be using you again.

I am extremely happy with these shoes. I took them out of the box, and less than 24 hours later I wore them for the first time, went on a 5 mile hike on uneven, steep, hilly terrain full of loose rocks and ruts, and these shoes felt as comfortable as an old pair of broken-in shoes. The break in period was virtually none - they felt really comfortable right away and I felt very safe and secure wearing them in the rocky, uneven, trail. I highly recommend these shoes. Will definitely buy another pair. This is my 2nd pair of Vasque shoes and the first pair felt just as good as this one.

Disabled Vietnam Veteran, have trouble finding boots that work for me. The plastic was added to the heel on the last type of Vasque boots I wear. Can't wear them anymore. My wife kept searching. Thank goodness that these work for me! The best!

I bought a men's hiking booth because I liked it and it is ultra dry. I wear a 9.5; bought and 8.5 and it fits just fine. I will need to replace the insole with an orthodontic, I have high arch. I like them and the price was reasonable.

Nice boots but even though I ordered Wide, they were too narrow. Felt like a D not an E.

Bought these for my picky husband and he loved them right away! Fit like a glove with no breakin time. Great color and style, and they didn't look huge on his feet like some hiking boots do. He wore them in the snow and felt stable.

I love these shoes. I tried about half a dozen brands before selecting this one particular shoe. I live on the side of a mountain and it has become my daily shoe. My ONLY complaint is that the hook for the laces is just a tad too small. I have to put them on in the dark and cold during the winter and that part bugs me. But the support, the fit the ruggedness, those are all top-notch. I'm going to be ordering more because I like to alternate shoes every day and my other brand that I thought might be good is even harder because it's tabs are TOO BIG.

I ordered the Vasque Breeze III GTX in a 12 wide. They fit nicely but I wanted something a little lower and lighter so I ordered these, also in a 12W. I'd say they fit like an 11 medium. My feet are wide, but not extremely so, and when I stood in these I could see my foot bulging the shoe out over the sole.

Felt smaller than marked. Stiff out of the box -ended up returning the pair. Never used.

Good style, but that's about it. I've had these boots for about 3 and a half month. I've mostly worn them around the office, and things are already falling apart. The toe cap is black rubber, but it's painted on. It has quickly started to peel off. The sides are mesh, but are developing wear points up front. The mesh is fraying and starting to develop a hole on both boots. Wearing them is fairly decent, good support, but not too stiff makes then fairly versatile. However I can't wear them for more than 2 hours at a time. The waterproofing material is not breathable. By then end of a normal day at the office, my socks are damp. I wish I had not thrown the box away. I'd much rather return them for something else with Gore-tex. Vasque has other boots in their line up with Gore-tex. One of them might be a better choice.
