This shoe feels and looks great. I will never buy from anyone but Zappos. Their service is excellent.

I'm a trail runner and have tried many shoes/brands/models and keep coming back to Salomon. The Wings Flyte 2 are comfortable with plenty of cushion on the inside, they are light-weight and breathable, and fit slightly snug in the forefoot. In my opinion, these aren't as narrow in the forefoot as other models. Another thing to note that I like is the bottom of the heel. Well cushioned shock absorbing as standard in Salomon shoes but I did enjoy a wider heel on the bottom of the shoe. I'm guessing this is for the downhill running performance part of the shoe and I do notice it being beefier in the back and loved that it really helps me feel connected to the trail more....less worried about rolling my ankle. I also like the fact that my custom orthotics can fit in the shoes which means there's ample room in them. Overall I'm pleased with these shoes and I think they are worth a try.

This is my Fifth (5th) Pair of SALOMON "TRAIL SHOES", which I Purchased on January 18th, 2017- from an "ON-LINE RETAILER". Presently, I RUN / WALK / HIKE over Twenty-Four (24) Miles per Week, Year-Round in SUN or RAIN. The SALOMON BRAND with "QUICK-LACE SYSTEM with "KEVLAR LACES" (KEVLAR is a Synthetic Material/Fiber with an extremely HIGH 'TENSILE STRENGTH-to-WEIGHT Ratio) is SIMPLE and EFFECTIVE! The "DROP" ("RAMP") of 10 mm is normal for my ROAD RUNNING Shoes and within my COMFORT ZONE. The HEEL HEIGHT of 27 mm maintains a HIGH GROUND CLEARANCE from Rocks & Debris! The SLAOMON 'COLORS' are BOLD & AGGRESSIVE as are the MATERIALS! The ELASTIC TONGUE COVER is an amazing TECHNICAL Advance in also Protecting from Rocks & Debris! The WINGS FLYTE 2's are PERFORMANCE STABILITY (RACING) "TRAIL SHOES" rated at Four-out of Five (4/5) for CUSHIONING! In CONCLUSION, the SALOMON TRAIL SHOES are (i) Well-Designed; (ii) Well-Made in INDIA, (iii) and TECHNICALLY SUPERIOR to other TRAIL SHOES !!!

Coming from a North Face Hedge Hog shoe these proved to be much more supportive ... maybe to much so in the toe box area. Same size as the HH but seems crampy for my toes. Hopefully they will stretch a little with ware. Very supportive in the heel area.

2nd purchase. i have a pair from i don't remember when, don't even know where i bought them. they were worn, soles. confusion when i went back to purchase another pair, different names, numbers etc..i got through it and ordered a pair, same size that i have. put the new pair on and oops! they did not fit, length was ok but not wide enough. (high arch, etc..) so i called zappos. a great experience. placed the new order, on the phone. i received the new pair and everything was fine. not much of a problem with the width. so, if you have a wide width you can get away with ordering one size or half size up. it did not make much difference going from a 12.5 to 13 (actual foot size, previous shoe was 12.5, what do i know !) good shoe, i am not a runner only past experience brought me back to salomons.

These were great shoes that were comfortable and fit great. My problem is that I had them for 3-4 months and the tread is toast. With only walking my dogs a few miles a day I wouldn't expect the tread to wear so easily. Pretty disappointing for how much they cost.
