An incredible boot. Possibly the best I have ever worn. Rock solid footing, even in tough Minnesota winter conditions. This is my second pair, replacing a pair I had for over eight years. I have wide feet so it took a little longer to feel comfortable in this boot but after a few weeks they are just fine. Looking forward to years of use with this fantastic boot.

On my 3rd pair. 1st pair 10 years old. Buying my third pair in case this style goes out. I like them that much. Parents owned a shoe store for 52 yrs. I have had my share of boots/ These rock hands down worth every penny.

They take a while to break in but have about the same feel as the last two pair over the past 10yrs. The leather cut seemed a little off on the right boot flap right of the tongue (seems short). Maybe a minor quality issue. The uppers on these always outlast the soles.

Disappointed. The stiff leather combined with the pacing that goes all the way to the toe bed means the boot puts immense pressure on the top of your foot (right above the ball of your foot). For me it hurt so bad I was limping and it limited how far I could walk. I tried breaking them in and invested several hours of walking in them, but was only rewarded with more pain. Oh and the insole is defective with a big crease right in the arch. I gave them away.

Over the past 15 years I've had two pairs of 535s and they are hands down the best boots I've ever worn. They could have used my foot to craft this boot (which means they run a little narrower than some would prefer). These are rock solid stable and basically bullet proof for anything that 95% of us will ever encounter. Now that I'm "older" these don't see much hard trail use anymore, but they are still my mainstay for anything outdoors Minnesota can throw at them.

I had a pair of these 22 years ago that lasted me for three years when they were sadly left behind on a trip and never found. They were the first and only boot I've ever owned that fit my foot like a glove and didn't need any break in. When they were lost in 2001, Asolo had stopped making the 535 and I replaced them with a pair of La Sportiva's that lasted me through this year when my feet had finally settled a little too much and started jamming my toes. Over the last few years, Asolo started making these again, and I knew what I needed to get and scooped them up in a second. And like that, I had an old friend back on my feet. I've been wearing them the last few days and gotten in a 3 mile hike with a backpack leaf blower clearing mountain bike trails. I've had zero hot spots and the comfort and support are exactly what I remember from hiking in the Adirondacks of New York and the Whites of NH. The materials are still first class, and the footbed feels a little revamped to add more support and comfort (which I didn't think they needed). Regarding waterproofing, my feet never got wet in my original pair and I expect the same from these: just throw some nikwax on 'em. Overall I couldn't be more pleased with the same ol' product that I got: they fit perfectly, are extraordinarily comfortable, and grip like a mountain goat. The only boot that matches them in comfort are my Red Wing Iron Rangers, but those need to be broken in first and have zero traction compared to these guys. The TL:DR is buy these boots; you won't regret it.

I've worn many boots of this style and these are by far the most amazing boots I've ever owned. They are comfortable enough to wear all day at the office and don't get too hot wearing for long periods. The boots feel narrower than they are, in a good way.

These are the best fitting boots, of any kind, that I have ever had - and I wear boots, of one type or another, all year. They could have used my foot for the mold, and I'm now on my second pair. However, these will probably NOT be favorites for people with wide feet, as the toe box is pretty narrow. I tagged these as "True to width" because my feet measure out as an "11D" and these fit. However, I like my boots snug, without any slop. If that's not you, then these might not be your best choice. The other thing to note is that these are not the Gore-Tex waterproof version. Unless you're walking through standing water I've never found this to be a problem. I love the fact that the entire foot portion of the boot is a single piece of (really good) leather - no seams to leak, or stitching to rub or pop. Just a great design. They are also stiff boots that require some break-in. Don't buy these the day before you plan to wear them on a tough hike. Overall, I can't recommend these highly enough.

Solid construction and very sturdy sole. Quality leather. Excellent lacing system. Super comfortable. Good fit and ankle protection (higher than most hiking boots). Liner seems to keep the foot cool even though it's an all leather boot, although I only wore it around the house. Three negatives (1) it's a very heavy and stiff boot (2) lacks extra toe protection and (3) it's $250. I decided to return it mostly because it was too heavy, but maybe that's the compromise for the durability (even though I didn't get to test that). I've destroyed other boots like the Keen Targhee Mid just on day hikes (sole collapsed/crushed). This boot is mostly geared towards extended hikes/backpacking but it's the only model they make in my size (17).

I'm returning these boots because of arch structure. The way these boots were constructed, it feels like the arch bends into where my heel is. Changing out the insoles did not make a difference. Aside from that, the boots felt good. It's very difficult for me to find footwear that fit properly. These boots were worth a try. I'd suggest trying them out if you don't have difficulties with sizing.

My husband indicated that the fit and the size were very good. But that the material used for the product was very poor. He noted that this being the first time he wore them outdoors, the leather(?) pulled away from the boot being very thin and was barely adequate. He believed it was "defective."
