Fits great before the sole falls off. This is my second pair of these over priced boots. Take a roll of duct tape with you or you may end up on the barefoot on the trail which is uncomfortable and dangerous. The sad part is that I recommended them to others and their soles fell off as well. I believe the quality used to be better. If Asolo would have corrected the situation I would have forgiven them due to the comfort but I guess they are hoping the problem well just blow over. This Scoutmaster is probably going back to Danner.

Great boot. Lasted me 9 years until the soles disintegrated. Not the most stylish boot in my opinion, but this thing hauls and will last you a long time. Great investment in durability and comfort.

I wore these hiking through the Colorado Rockies and Utah’s Canyonlands National Park. Absolutely the best boot if your packing and traveling. Gave my foot superb support. The boot just moved with the foot. No blisters or rubbing. One of the finest boots I’ve ever purchased!

I have used Asolo boots for over 50 years. I have used this boot since its inception. I have used them on every type of terrain and have had excellent luck, they work in cold weather (summit of Mt Rainier) and do not cook your feet in desert terrain. These last a long time if taken care of properly. My current pair has about 2500 miles on them and thousands of vertical feet and are still running well. I would recommend these to anyone who wants an excellent boot.

I ordered a size 15D. The length was OK, I have a narrow width foot but felt the toe box too confining. I understand from reviews that the wide width version offers more toe room while keeping the heel snug. Returned the 15D, hoping for the wide size to become available.

Fit is excellent, they run a bit large. These are so well made, totally comfortable out of the box. My feet felt great after a full day of wearing for the first time. They are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended, will be ordering an additional pair.

These are my go to tough boot. I used to wear the Vasque Sundowners as my main boot (back in the day), but switched to these about 10 years ago! They have lasted that long! Granted I don't use them on desert trails because they can be a bit heavy and hot, but they are a great mountain/water boot. I had them resoled once and although scuffed up....they are still holding together! Worth the money. Instead of buying 3 cheaper boots over the time span, buy these....once.

Just wow. These specific Asolo boots were recommended to me by High Mountain Institute in Colorado where I will be going for the fall semester this year. That experiential school semester includes hiking the Rockies. I'm not what you would call 'outdoorsy' so I relied entirely on their expertise and I'm so glad I did. This is a big investment for me but I believe they are worth the price. They felt comfortable from the very start. I was advised they would require some 'break-in' and so I began wearing them a lot but there was really no need as they were so comfortable from the start. I give them 12 stars out of 10! And did I mention they look great: ruggedly handsome dark brown leather and a serious hiker impression so important to a 'city-boy' like me.

I have owned three pairs of these boots over years (all purchased REI), and all three of them fell apart with soles delaminating. Why did I continue to buy? Because they come in wide sizes and are very comfortable. But the price is too high for boots that may last five years or less. I'm searching for a better boot.

I have had a pair of these Asolo boots since 2007. (I think this makes the seventh pair I have bought in that time.) They are the most comfortable, best-wearing boots I have ever owned. They last anywhere from one to two years, depending on how often I wear them. I like them so much that I use them for almost everything: work, hiking, around the house and yard work. They're so comfortable I'd rather wear them than almost any other shoe/boot I own for almost everything.
I have read several stories of people owning a pair of these boots, taking them out of the closet and using them to go hiking, only to have them fall apart on the trail (usually the sole delaminates from rest of the boot). I have never had that problem. My suspicion is that you shouldn't let these boots sit in the closet for months or years with no use; I haven't and have never had any issues with these boots other than normal wear.
One last thing: I have moderate arches and have always used Superfeet blue insoles with these boots. The insoles that come with these boots are okay, but with a pair of blue Superfeet insoles these boots are AWESOME!

Vasque Sundowners were my go to boots for the longest time had trouble finding them so I went with this boot because they look similar in this boot is even better I’ve had these for eight years now and even had them re-sold and they’re still great! I had a pair Zamberlins That I thought would replace these boots but they didn’t work out so well, see my previous review Wendy’s finally do wear out I will buy another pair that should last me the rest of my life

I've had a pair of these for about 6 years...only wearing them on really rough ground off trial type stuff. They are an excellent heavy duty boot...one of the best I've seen. They do not have the no flex sole of the mountaineering boots....there is a stiff shank in there...but the boot flexes at the ball of your foot though not as much as a lighter day hiker style boot.
About the only negative is...these are heavy. In most cases the avg person isn't going to like these for that reason alone....and they are right, this is too much boot for the avg person. Its best for backpackers carrying fairly heavy packs that need a solid footbed and better support than what a lighter day hiker can give you.
The boot is fully lined, very comfortable. I wear a 14D in most stuff....these just felt a little snug in the width...so I went with the wide version. Now since, they have loosened up a little...but with the thick expedition socks I'm glad I went for the wider footbed.
These have been waterproof for me though I silicone them regularly. The first 2 years they were perfect. Now, they will start to get heavier after a couple days in straight wet from water soaking the leather...though still no leaks.
The best strategy is to wear a Gaiter that keeps wicking moisture out...and a lot of the water off the top of your boots.

What can I say about this boot that hasn't been said. Amazing quality, build, construction fit. The soles is fantastic. Very similar boot to the Asolo TPS Equalon GV Evo which I would own if came in a wide size. Thankfully this one does. Can't say enough good things about this one.

Hands down the best boot I've ever purchased. Very comfortable, yet strong and durable. I'm on my feet all day and must have the best . I Receive commitments on a regular. Thanks Asolo for offering my size (17). Fortunately, I was able to experience this brand back when I wore a 14, but out grew the boots before I was able to wear them out. PLEASE continue to add more styles and colors in my size. I'm a customer for life.

I loved the style of this boot, and it feels substantial and well made. However, I had to return it due to the narrow width. I am ordinarily a 10.5 W, but this boot in that size is very narrow and was incredibly uncomfortable. If you are a wide size, you may want to consider another manufacturer.

I've waited a year to review these 520s because of claims that soles may unattach early on. I have wore mine daily to the point of having lost most of the tread but the sole is perfectly attracted. The rest of the boot is fairly scuffed and banged up (because I work out doors in all weather) but the construction has failed in no way. They were comfortable the first day and still are. They keep my feet warm and dry in the snow and rain. Were they worth the high price tag? Absolutely. They are also worth re-soling later on (Which I've never done with other boots). I've had Fugitives, Drifters and Falcons by Asolo and quite few other brands. These TPS 520s are the finest hiking boots I've ever worn.

I’ve had these for years now just to wear driving in winter as they keep my feet warm and less likely to slip on black ice when I wear them. Really supportive if you roll your ankles as I have. No rolling in these! Has prevented me from breaking lots of bones. Love these. Worth the price as they last forever. Well made. Comfortable and supportive. I got my orthopedics in them very easily.

These are amazingly well made boots in today's world. Sadly it is difficult to find womens shoes and boots wide enough without going boutique orthotic.
Thought I was purchasing a women's 8 wide, but they are men's. Doesn't work: too big in heel and a bit too long. A men's 7 would probably do the trick. And that is hard to find.

I require a bit more cushion so I but this boot 1/2 size bigger.
This is a revision of a boot that I wore for 10yrs.
Break in time 2 days walking around the house.
Tested the gortex finish...seems water tight.
Zappos customer service stepped up for me on this purchase, quick replacement sent after I experienced a glitch with my 1st Asolo order.

My favorite boot. I got these for hiking the Canyons in the southwest. I work in a warehouse and thought that I would wear the boots to work to "break them in". Well the boots fit like a glove and felt like they were already broken in. Now they are me work boots and hiking boots. Worth every penny.
