I am writing this to amend my initial review now that I've been able to run in the shoes for a couple of days.
I run about 15-20 miles a week, but 99% of this is on a treadmill.
The cloud pods on the bottom of these shoes are quite unique. When you walk around on hard surfaces, you immediately feel the spring and the mechanical design of the shoe. It is quite unlike any other running shoe I've ever used.
When your heel strikes the deck or pavement, you immediately roll forward and the cloud gives you a spring forward onto your forefoot. The effect is not like running on a trampoline, but rather like the shoe pushes your foot into position for the next part of the step.
After seeing all of this information, you probably expect that these shoes would have a cushioned ride. But, in reality it is quite the opposite. The shoe is actually fairly stiff, and contains a hard sole between your foot and the cloud pods. I believe this creates a mechanical advantage and adds stability, but I won't pretend to be an engineer.
One thing I noticed during my first run was that I felt the impact more in my calves than in my ankles and heels. This was a welcome change to me because one of the reasons I started seeking new shoes was pain in my ankles while running. I interpret this new feeling as the impact being absorbed by the muscles rather than the joint. This strikes me as advantageous.
Overall: I really like this shoe. My first run in it was an adjustment, but my second run was quite pleasant! I think this is definitely a pavement shoe more than a treadmill shoe.
I also recommend replacing the laces. I put a pair of Lock Laces on mine, and I find that the shoe fits more snuggly and feels like a better fit in the mid-foot.

My husband had these shoes & I loved the way they looked so I ordered my own! So happy I did as these are great looking and very comfortable at the same time. I prefer the men's colors so I ordered two sizes down & they fit perfectly . Don't hesitate with this style, they won't disappoint you!

These shoes have a nice wide toe box! So wide, in fact, that I found I have to go down a size! I have been wearing Nike Lunarglide+ 5s and Pegasus for the past two years, according to On's website you should wear the same size in On as Nike. Well, because of the nice wide toe box, my foot was sliding around inside this shoe. That said, even with the size being too big, I could immediately sense the construct quality and comfort of these shoes. A quick jog around my kitchen showed the excellent cloud tech in these shoes. Each step feels like you're being catapulted forward.

Big fan of On....purchased these to replace my original Clouds. The lace up version Cloudcruiser vs. the slip on Cloud is no comparison for comfort on top of the foot. Cloudcruiser feels great underneath - but the inside tongue of the Cloudcruiser just doesn't feel as good as the tongue-less Cloud.

Perfect running shoes for my flat feet. Comfortable from the moment I wore them. As a Marine, I put about ~20 miles a week on them. Originally purchased in April of 2017, I still find them supportive and comfortable a year+ later. I only wear these for running and working out, but I plan on getting a pair for casual wear. Well designed shoe that stands up to the wear and tear I put them through. No tears or seams separating

After 22 years in the military, my feet have seen better days. I bought these shoes after an exhausting and some what annoying search. I read in-depth and detailed reviews on running websites and was impressed enough to try them. Do not let the design throw you off. These shoes worked great. I log about 20-30 miles a week and these shoes provided great support. Its been about a year now, and they remain in excellent shape.

After 22 years of active duty military service, its safe to say I have some foot/leg/back issues. After researching shoes for days, I landed on these. Great support, feels good while running, fit perfectly. No more pain while I run. I run approx. 15 miles a week and these shoes have not let me down.

Had these about 6 months. They are amazing and the reason I feel in love with on. Own 3 pairs now. Definitely the most comfortable shoes I've worn so far and I've owned a lot of shoes. The only negative is small gravels can get stuck in the bottom but they're worth the small nuisance.

These are my second pair of On shoes and I'm sold for life. These are great, but it did take a few weeks to wear in behind the ankle. That area was stiff, although my ankles were not sore wearing them during this period. Overall, these are slick and very comfortable.

These shoes are everything that other people that own On Cloud products have basically said; Excellent quality, great unique eye catching designs and very comfortable. That being said, I gave this product four stars because I can say the same for 2 other brands of running shoes that I own that cost around 60 to 70 dollars. Less than half the cost of On Cloud.

These are better than other ONs I have tried recently but the cheaper and sloppier manufacturing continues. The shoe's tongue has extra fabric on the inside that rubs against the top of my foot. I have several other pairs of ONs from earlier purchases that don't have that problem. The quality of this company's shoes has really deteriorated. Either the sizes have shrunk or the quality has. Or both. This brand was a revelation to me when I first tried them four or five years ago but no longer. Bring back the good shoes of the past!

They're stiff and have very little cushion for running on pavement. Definitely terrible for long runs or walks on pavement. Just like a real life cloud, not soft.
