Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I usually don't write reviews but wanted to give people a heads up on these shorts. I normally wear size 32 with Arc'teryx shorts & pants. Was a huge fan of the Rampart's...until they got rid of the double snap closure and the extra right cargo/cell phone pocket (huge bummer!!!). Thought I would give the Leroy's a try. I had read other reviews stating these shorts were sized small. Wow!! They were correct! I upsized to a 34 thinking they would work. Nope! Still too small. Upsized again to a 36 and they were way too big. Ugh! They have a nice built in belt. For the price though, I shouldn't have to rely on a belt for my shorts to stay up. The fabric is super stretchy which is also nice. These shorts would be awesome...if they fit. Make sure you upsize if you want to give them a try.

The Lefroy shorts are excellent hot weather hiking shorts. Pros: -No zipped pockets like the Palisade Shorts/Pants allows you to carry a pocketknife. -Zipped thigh pocket is great for a paper map to protect it from rain/getting lost. -Integrated belt allows you to get a perfect fit with the ability to adjust on the fly. -Integrated belt greatly increases comfort while hiking with pack using a waist belt. This way the pack's waist belt doesn't dig a regular belt into your waist. -Ultra lighweight. -Surprisingly good DWR, excellent water beading. -Highly wind resistant. -Minimalist, simplified, no-nonsense design. Cons: -Simplified, no-nonsense design may be off-putting to some. -Not as versatile as the Lefroy Pants, which can be worn in rainy weather, hot weather, sleet, or snow. The shorts really can only be used during clear, hot weather hikes.

I've purchased two pairs of these fine shorts. Don't ever want to not want them unavailable due to laundry or misplacement by me. I'm 34" and the 34 fits me so well. Finest craftsmanship available, and the fit, finish, and comfort are exceptional. Textile is a very good weight for durability, comfort (full commando), quick dry. Don't shrink after laundry, and look good as new all the time. I hope the don't discontinue or change them. I'll order again.

I have used these shorts for hiking in the Norwegian alps, wearing it casually in my backyard and regular hikes. Absolutely love it. I have not been shy using these, and it has held up great against abrasion and dirt. They are very light and stretchy so it feels like wearing nothing. I am very impressed with its ability to dry. I was soaking wet during a hike, and after 15-20 minutes they had dried up! I am going to buy the pants next.

A proper summer hiking short. The shorts feels easy when worn during a strenuous hike. Pocket depth is also perfect. I put my phone on the side pocket and at times I would forget that it's securely placed there. Zippers are also smooth. The adjustable belt is a nice touch too.

Bought my first pair this summer and quickly bought two more pairs as the Lefroy became my default hiking short this summer. Fit is snug but comfortable for me but the highly stretchy fabric really makes it move well with you while hiking or climbing. I have used them for shorter trail runs also. I have used in the cooler temps above tree line and in the heat of the desert mountains and the shorts were perfect for both. Even when they get wet they dried quickly and stayed very comfortable even in pretty hot conditions. Excellent product!

These shorts are awesome! I liked them so much that I bought 3 pairs of them... in different colours! They are great for lounging on the beach, sailing, SUP'ing, swimming in a lake, mountain biking, hiking, wearing around town, or spring backcountry skiing with everything in between! I've recommended them to friends and all love them too. Solid buy!

Simply the best short ever. I ordered one, read a review about a guy buying one in every color because he simply loved them. I had a silent smile on my face because I knew I would do the exact same thing. And guess what, a week later I did. Oh Boy these are good. Thank you Arcteryx for making so great products. They are also available in a long version, I have implemented them as "the pants" in my company's wardrobe.

Material is light with just the right amount of stretch. Feels durable. zippers work easily with one hand. So many shorts with zipper pocket require two hands to open easily. Love the built in belt. the length is perfect. Highly recommend!

Being skinny most technical shorts drown me, but these fit really well. Super comfy and great for walking, travel and climbing. I will live in them this summer. Good colour too - will probably buy the pant version now too.

I had no problem fitting into these shorts because I have an athletic body. Arc'Teryx is the leader in technical outerwear so I'm glad they have become progressively more form fitting over the years. Snags mean you get holes in your shorts and I find I don't have that problem anymore with these. 32" waist fits me great!

I'm by a shirts wearer by nature, preferring legs to be covered up for several reasons. But as this is a mountain gear review, I'll say it's because I don't like tick bites. Anyway, given a recent spell of warm British weather, I took the plunge on a couple of pairs of shorts. On first impression the material seemed quite thin and flimsy, but not a bit of it. Appearances are deceiving and the material, despite is softness is durable and withstood a few scrapes without issue. The fit around the waist is perfect for me. I am a perfect arc'teryx large (34") and the general cut is relaxed, allowing excellent freedom of movement. The shorts come to just above my knees. I have a pair of magnet and legion blue and the colours are very pleasing. They also go with lots of different shoes or tops. All in all I have nothing to complain about. I suspect that if your size is an odd number the waist may seem a little loose and if you have weedy legs the width of the shorts at the knee may not be to your liking, but for a mr average like me, they are perfect. Comfortable, good to look at, durable and quick drying...that'll do for me.
