I ordered 3 different pairs of "under-pronator" Asics to compare/contrast, in order to replace my worn out model which sadly they don't make anymore. Here are my findings: ASICS GEL-Flux 3 (this shoe) - This one turned out to be the overall most comfortable for me. I have a narrow-ish foot, and usual size 9.5. The 9.5 fit right. I notice a lot of people say to go up 1/2 a size in Asics, but, personally, I don't like the shoe to be too big as it rubs against the back and/or sides of the heel uncomfortably. Comfortable fit. This one felt like it had the most room around the "ball" portion of the foot, which is where I most often get cramps. Also felt the most stiff underneath the foot than the others, but thick and supportive. After comparing by wearing alone, and also by wearing one of one model on one foot, and a different model on the other, then switching feet, I learned out of the 3, this shoe was sort of the "medium"; it had a good amount of cushioning, but not as much as the Gel-Evate, but more than the Gel-Equation. Also, the middle in terms of "level"-ness, the Gel-Equation felt like it pointed downward, the Gel-Evate felt even more level than this one. Out of the three, probably the least high arch, although I felt like the arch is supported, I don't feel it under my arch as closely as the other two. Overall, it just feels the best on my foot. Feels like it does help with my underpronation issue, straightening out my gait a little. Of the 3, this one has the highest cup at the heel, which I like better, feels like my foot is a little more enclosed in the shoe, not exposed at the ankle. Just took them for my 1st hour-long walk and no issues or discomfort whatsoever. Gel-Evate 3 - When I first put these on, I said, "nope." Out of the three they were the most tight, so if you are in between sizes, or like a looser fit, go up a size. After testing the other two pairs, I went back to them and wore one with another model. I liked them better upon the second chance; they had the most cushioning of the three, the thickest/highest sole. Also the highest arch, and they had the most support under the toe area, making the overall angle of the bottom feel more level and not tipping down. When I loosened the laces quite a ways, they felt ok, but still a sort of tight fit overall, which may have loosened in time/wear. However, after walking around the house for about 15 minutes, the middle of my foot began to feel cramped, even though they were as loose as I could go and still tie them (I agree with other reviews that the laces are too short). If you have super-high arches, this might be the one for you. Gel-Equation - This one actually felt the most comfortable "out of the box". My usual 9.5 felt right on. It feels the most flexible, and also has the biggest toe-box of the 3 I tried, so if that is your issue, this might be your shoe. Both the upper mesh and the sole felt the most flexible. However, while I did feel it helped with the under-pronation problem, there is a lack of support under the toe area. It feels rather thin there, and overall, the sole was the thinnest of the 3 and the least cushioned. Because of the thin area under the toe base, it felt like the shoe tipped downward, maybe this is a "spring-off" feature (?). After wearing for 15 minutes, I felt like this was stressing the muscle behind my thigh, above the knee crease. This one had the 2nd highest arch. Hope this is helpful to some of you!

I have a very hard time finding shoes that fit my feet exactly right and these were just perfect (I ordered wide). Very comfortable and nice arch support. Stylish too! I can't believe I got such an amazing shoe for such a low price. I will be ordering another pair in a different color.

These Asics were by far the most tight fitting of the three I selected (the others were FuzeX Lyte and Gel Equation 8). I selected a size 9 in all and usually where a size 8.5. The cushioning was a bit stiffer than expected.

I bought these to replace a pair of Asics Gel Cumulus. They seem to be a little less structured than my Cumulus, but comfortable none the less. They are light and the width was perfect, yet the heel nice and trim. I wear a 9 1/2 wide.

Very comfortable light weight sneaker. True to size. I use an orthotic insert for better arch support in all my shoes so am not aware if these are supportive on its own.

Very comfortable shoe! Feels great right out of the box, no need for me to break in. I have been wearing them almost every day since receiving and have no complaints! Great width in toe box, moderate arch support-could be better but I have HIGH arches! I wear for walking - nice shoe!

Excellenct running/walking shoe, so comfortable and has support that lasts! I love these shoes, have bought 2 pairs this year!

This is a really nice shoe. The length might be a little short, but not enough to size up. The fit otherwise is great and shoes feel good. Shoes I had with this netting feature have ripped in the past, so I will have to see if that happens with these. Hopefully not.

I am very happy with the Asics Gel flux 3, I use these shoes for work. I do a lot of walking at work and these shoes are so comfortable throughout the whole day. Also, the color blends in well with my uniform.

Definitely a very comfortable shoe. I'm glad that I read the reviews as Asics tend to run a little short. I bought the 12.5M instead of the 12M. Fit perfect and makes a great walking/running shoe. Great arch support and wear all day shoe. I also love the colors.

I love these shoes. I have bunions, and these shoes feel great. A bone of the second toe has been starting to push down into the ball of my foot- in these shoes I hardly ever notice it. I do a variety of classes at the gym- kick boxing, weight lifting- these shoes are great for both of these classes, next to try for- step aerobics.

I just bought my second pair. I wear them pretty much all day, I'm a SAHM, although I don't stay at home much :-) but am on my feet all day! Great shoes, love the style and colors.

Really love these shoes. I have a narrow heel and it's hard for me to find shoes that fit my toes (wider) without having a heel slip. They were comfortable out of the box. I have nothing but good things to say.

I love these sneakers. As is normal with Asics I ordered a half size up and they fit perfectly. Great support and excellent cushioning. I went to Disney for the weekend and wanted to pack lightly so I only brought these. I wore them all day, every day, then I ran in them. My feet still felt great!

At last, thank you Zappos for your patience in sending and returning so that I could finally find a pair of comfortable shoes. My go-to brand Asics finally worked, but only after I realized they had completely changed their sizing (more along the lines of Nikes.). These shoes are wonderfully comfortable, but I had to get them a full size larger and in W. The toe box is roomy enough and high enough (the Gel-Nimbus 18 was not high enough). Okay, so I now take a 12D...aaargh! Two years ago I was a 10-1/2B! My high arches are falling with age and I suppose that's the cause. So thank you Zappos...without you I don't know what I would do because stores don't carry big sizes. You are the best!!!

Asics are great shoes! These are super comfortable, good arch support and so far have held up really well.

I need a shoe with a wide toe box, and I am an "underpronator", so I am a little limited on styles. However, the real point of this review isn't so much about the shoe as it is about Zappos customer service. I have been through it all with them! I have "talked" with their reps on livechat and they have helped me figure out what shoe would be best for me. If I order a shoe I don't like, or need a different size, I print a UPS return slip and off it goes back to Zappos. What is truly amazing is I am able to order another shoe before they even get the return back!! I recommend Zappos to everyone I know--in fact, a co-worker ordered from them the first time last week. I am done going to running-shoe-stores...you would never have convinced me I could buy shoes on-line and be satisfied (very) with a purchase...but Zappos proved me wrong! You guys are awesome!

I have been looking for a new athletic shoe for exercise, as well as day-to-day wear with jeans. I have been holding on to my old Brooks Ghost 5, but they are shot and had to go. Didn't care for the looks of the new Ghost, so was looking for an alternative. These fit the bill. Really hard to find shoes for under-pronate. Very comfortable right out of the box. Got in the wide width, and seems true to size. The laces are a little bright (neon yellow) so might switch them out, but otherwise, very happy with my new shoes!

I have MS and the shoes were comfortable, supportive and my orthodontics fit in them. Walking can be a challenge and when I find a shoe that works I usually buy more than one pair. I bought these in two colors.

I'm a dedicated Asics customer. I've been purchasing Asics shoes, for running, for almost a decade. I've purchased some of their higher end running shoes, but I have to say: this entry level running shoe does the job for me. It had been more than a year since I'd updated my running shoes and I was having a little bit of soreness after running. These shoes fit me very well out of the box and the support is so much better than my old, over used pair. For anyone who doesn't have major issues with pronation, or doesn't need extensive cushioning, I think that this is an ideal running shoe. I don't love pink, but I bought the black and pink version of this shoe and I love it. Very happy with the purchase.

These are the most comfortable and supportive shoes I've owned in years. I typically wear a 10, but wear a 10.5" in tennis shoes so I can put in my insoles and have some extra wiggle room. These are perfect! I took them out of the box yesterday morning and walked around over 4 hours at an expo event here in town. I didn't have blisters or any rubbing that you sometimes get with new tennis shoes. I highly recommend them. I only marked "moderate arch support" because I always use my insoles in tennis shoes, shoes generally do not have the arch support I need.

This athletic shoe is very appropriate for my underpronation and plantar fasciitis. I wear a size 12 medium width in shoes but in an athletic shoe I need a 12.5. I am a nurse and on my feet 8 hrs/day and the asics gel flux 3 works for me. Gives support and comfort at a reasonable price.

This shoe is perfect in every way. Light, trim looking on my obnoxiously wide feet, comfortable..... They fit like they were made for me from the moment they came out of the box! Asics is my "go to" brand and I was disappointed when my favorite model was discontinued. NO longer! I have to order another pair! Thank you Zappos!
